Would they stop talking to you or sending you more prototypes ? oh wait ! they´ve already done that Come on Graham , it isn´t like you´re betraying them specially when they´ve left you uninformed for so long , if they actually cared about the info and material you´ve got they would just simply take it off your hands, besides, by this time that info is probably too outdated in ragards to their actual proyects now , so I don´t think it won´tl make much of a difference to Yamato

This is a quote with info from animenfo on the plot of the series: It seems this time Kawamori has finally gotten the chance to do his ultimate anime series since Aquarion appears to gather elements from his other works i.e. Nature punishes Human race/ Arjuna , Mithological reference/escaflowne , people with angel´s wings / escaflowne , Comnining mecha / can´t remeber the name but he did a series in this line , Purana energy / spirita from macross. I have no negative bias against all this elements even though I wasn´t a great fan of Escaflowne nor Arjuna , but Aquarion seems to trully be a gem of an anime from sound and looks of it, so it seems this time at least , Kawamori will finally synthesize all his alternative ideas and theories that he has unnecessarily integrated into his recent works in an attempt to release these personal ideas. What Aquarion may bring to us all is the opportunity for Kawamori to finally spend all his ideas into ONE anime series and put an end to this trend in his works ( not that it´s bad or that I don´t like it , but it kinda deviates on his overall career) and maybe , just maybe give him the necessary time to dedicate his talent to a new Macross series , maybe a continuation of Zero , maybe a VF-X2 kinda series , maybe something completely unexpected. Either way , I´ll definetively watch this series for its own merits there´s no doubt about it.

has anyone got the isolated background images of the YF-21 and YF-19 ? I´ve looking for them for a long time , are they scans from the hasegawa kits ? I haven´t got any of them so if someone could help it would really be appreciatted Cheers I'm not too positive which post you're quoting since its just smiley but are you talking about this YF-19 and 21? Theyre from the hasegawa box. I have pictures of the hasegawa box if you want them. I was speaking of the wallpaper posted by Toonz featuring the VF-1S in battroid and the YF planes on the background , but the one you posted is nice nontheless If you´ve got the isolated images of the YF planes that are used in both wallpapers ( yours and Toonz´s) that would be great ( in other words the hasegawa boxart images used)

I hope your right about this, that would be cool. I want them to hold out and release a 1/60 version of the VF-0. By the way what was said in that interview piece at the end of Episode 5, did the voice actors mention anything about a movie version. No I don´t think they did , some one put it up in the M0 Ep.5 thread I think. From what I remember they only said how pleasing it was to work on the proect and all the cliche phrases japanese actor give in those interviews. It would be dumb of them to actually ask if there´ll be a movie version it their own DVD though. Surely M+ did better considering it was the BIG come back of macross after so many years , remember M0 was released only a few years after Macross dynamite OVAs , and given THEIR succsses I see no chance of japanese cunsumers actually expecting much from it. After that it´s a straight trip into the land of way-too-cool-OVA-series-that-went-unnoticed. I don´t expect it to do any btter than your regular OVA series so , M+ had the advantage of featuring a story that appealed to anyone that wasn´t a fan , and being a true gem for those who waited so long for a new macross series.

yeah , I think the majority of the members here know the story , myself included. Funny thing is...Bandai still has the license to Macross and does not do a shiet with it. They have it there gathering dust while they could do some impressive Macross toys in a blink , but no ... they´ve got Gundam inserted way too deep inside their asses to notice Macross still sells, not as gundam but does. If only we could get Macross fix figuration toys , even if its not much I would be happy with it. SOC figures or PG kits is just dreaming IMO so I won´t even waste my time. All this brings me to my point in my last post. look at Yamato. Compare their current condition to two years back , they kept releasing macross toys almost every month...now what ? we´ve come down to the sad and very humiliating point where we´ve got to pray to see some kind of toy , even to the point of automatically assuming and not caring any more if they´ll come with a variety of WC issues. They´re repeating Bandai´s history , keeping the license while not doing much with it. That´s why it´s important the Koenig does good , not only it represents a hope to get new obscure valks but actually any valk all together. It´s like when someone feels as being used after sex , they milked all the money out of Macross with the VF-1 now they have no interest in it now that they´ve got what they wanted ; money and recognition as a capable company. Why should they invest in Macross anymore ? they can sustain themselves now . They´ve got fresh & popular licenses that make a load more money than Macross , we know Macross Zero didn´t become a popular series in Japan ( no OVA serie does , with some exceptions ) so why would it look attractive investment-wise to them ? the only thing we (actually the etaileres and japanese consumers, we pretty much are out of their consideration) can do is demonstrate Macross is worth the invesment and they should expand the line. how ? simply , just buy from them. Curiously though , we HAVE BOUGHT every and all toys from them (Godzilla and Sithlord alone have sustained Yamato for the last 2 years IMO ) so why have we come to this point anyway ? no idea.

I think it´s cool for various reasons. a.- cause it´s more practicall looking than some other VFs , it just scream early VF model. b.- the agressive and militaristic look of it in battroid , just watch the scene of Ivanov infiltrating in the Azuka carrier while he shreds everyone to pieces there with its mini-guns , I can easily see it being deployed in ground combat ops. c.- It´s so reminiscent of the VF-14 ( on of my top 5 fav. valks) that it´s too cool to let pass unnoticed. d.- it´s the only really ORIGINAL design , apart from the OCTOS , that´s featured in M0 since both the Cheyenne and VF-0 are based on older designs by Kawamori.

Cause they wanna rip your ass off by selling you an accesory camera that´s 120% more expensive than what it could´ve been if they had integrated it into the PSP. And why would you want them to do that ? look at the mess they made with the square button ! imagine what they could´ve made by adding a camera ! say goodbye to mr. triangle and the gang. or maybe worse , mrs. big ass screen.

yeah , I kinda feel ashamed to say this but I also knew all that , I wonder if people actually browse the Main site anymore , or if they even know we´ve got a whole site outside the boards Still , the VF-5000 is still parto of the Vf-X2 license independant of which of the two games ot was featured in so there´s still a chance if the Koenig does good ( ) Yeah all that´s true , but without these debates MW would turn into a very lonely place anyway. I fear Yamato may turn into a Bandai-type of complany where they´ll keep their license through the years but will do absolutely nothing with it. this would be a tue fact nowadays If it weren´t for the Koenig.

And Yamato still dares to say their macross line is not worth their time ???? HAHAHA YEAH RIGHT After seeing your collection they surely have absolutelly no excuses not to do every single mecha in the macross universe. On a side note ; are you sure you´re not some kind of caribean drug lord or something ? seriously , where the heck do you get all that money from , knowing you can buy every single toy you want to must be VERY VERY nice.

they seem to be internal mechanics for the legs of some kind of mecha. Don´t know if it´s Macross related or Orguss stuff. Hope I get it right. Anyway , is there a possibility of seeing some kind of Macross Zero mecha in the book ? I don´t remeber if Miyatake worked in M0 or not , if so what did he design ? ( I´m hoping we get some OCTOS detailed line-art).

That would really kick ass. VF-X2 has it all really , from the VF-1 to the VF-22. I keep wondering how they never continued the line up until the recently released Koenig. I can only dream of a Yamato VF-5000

you know the meaning of the word comparison , do you ? Yeah Macross , contrary to what the majority of fans think , ain´t popular in Japan , it´s an outdated and forgoten jewel sunken in the sea of Gundam merchandise. At its most , it only has appeal to vintage anime fans , Macross doesn´t even have a young fan base in Japan so you can only see litlle and high priced merchandise from time to time , in contrast to Gundam which just pukes loads and loads of merchandise per minute. So the coparison is rather right.

But then again why should they have released the Koenig Monster when it´s not really the most popular mecha in the Macross universe ? I don´t know , it would seem the majority of the people here agree the toy is actually quite cool and all , but all this complains about stupid little details that don´t even affect transformation nor the looks make it seem like sales won´t be as radically good as Yamato expects , and we know what that will lead to , No sales = no new valks ( it´s happened in the past). I fear that possible buyers will get turned off by all this complains and Yamato will take this as a sign that interest in the franchise is going downhill (even more that it normally does with our beloved but unpopular Macross , Japan-wise) hence dropping any new ¨surprising¨ projects. Yeah , the 1/48 GBP is a solid release , that´ll probably make for the perfect end to the 1/48 line. But , after that....what ? If this kind of ¨unexpected¨ releases recieve such a bad welcoming then what is their motivation to do more or improve upon the flaws ? So far I see no new macross releases in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Well , knowing that Macross was only their leading step into their toy market scene and now they seem to be growing it looks like they have no interest in wasting time in old , unpopular series like Macross and now they´re expanding into new franchises. All this due to , you´ve guessed it , lack of communication. If they only had an open channel through wich they could talk to fans and hear their comment in a serious way we would not live in this uncertainty

I still wonder though. How in the name of the froating head can they be so damn naive ( to say the least ) not to take advantage of a new ( and so goddamn awesome) series of their their leading toy line and make toys out of it and make loads of money ? What i mean is , they gotta be just too busy looking for ways to make their QC even worse not to be prepared beforehand the end of the M0 OVA series to release M0 toys at the peak of its popularity. I think now they´ll probably just get half the sales of what they could´ve have made if they´d released these toys earlier. This so called tactical moves from Yamato just seem incredibly stupid from any POV you wanna see it. It´s stupid that they don´t wanna please the fans anymore , wel I can understand that , but it´s also stupid from a bussiness POV , cause not only do they give a bad image of themselves with this VF-0 vaporwave issue to their clients but they also wasted their chance to attract new buyers by making badass M0 toys and make maybe more money. Anyway , to me it reallly looks like this project was totally dropped , whether or not they´ll still make M0 toys in some other scale is a mistery to me. hopefully they do. I´ll be happy for a lifetime if they just make a Vf-5000 and a VF-0D.

What about the other 40+ or so valks , you´ve got them on their boxes ? dude that ´s just cruel , I mean , you should at least kick your family out of the house and use the new space for all your valks , otherwise it wouldn´t be fair , would it ?

OT: Don´t mean to interrupt this thread BUT... Has anyone noticed this is the first Yamato toy thread that has happily reached the 40 page mark in freaking long time ? seriously , since when was the last time we talked so much about one of their toys with such enthusiasm ? (I think it was the VF-0) Anyway , I think the name of the ship in the VF-X game was the Valhalla. Happy to know that the the missile launcher actually features a missile and it actually opens. oohh mate I´m just so damn exited to buy one of this , shame I´ve got no money.
