  1. I used to collect, but I never got into the clubs or anything. I had a gas blowback Luger that was really cool, an M93 and an AEG rifle (Tokyo Marui I think). I never had any problems with jamming. I sold them, along with tons of other stuff, when I decided that I had to eliminate the credit card debt. I kind of regret getting rid of the Lugar, but I really have no use for it.
  2. Thank you for the update! Can you comment on if there will be a larger perfect transformation VF-0S later? Will it have a clear canopy and a pilot? I'll probably pick this up if it's around $30. I'm not sure I'd want to spend much more than that given all the swappable parts. Thanks again!
  3. I wonder if it will have landing gears? They will be hard to do correctly at the smaller scale. I'll probably pick one up just to see how it is, but I hope they come out with a larger one.
  4. Replace the CF with the low-vis and the release orders are very similar. I bet these will look really nice, but I'm going to have to pass. I think 5 1/48s are enough until something different comes along (VT, VE or 1D).
  5. Transfandom.com is reporting that an anonymous tipster recieved an official distribution offering. Appearently, it stated that the name is not yet decided and that the color is not yet definate. I'm still thinking this will be Jazz.
  6. HLJ has a pilot pic up (in the cockpit). Can't tell much, but it doesn't look like it has a face, just a visor. HLJ Preorder Link
  7. Fans may want Jazz to be a Porsche, but nothing says that he has to be. Side Swipe received a new vehicle form. Isn't the Japanese for Side Swipe Lamboru or something. Was that based on the original car mode?
  8. Post about toys... My first impression when I saw this was that it will be Jazz. Alternator's aren't totally sticking to the original colors or original cars. Smokescreen was tri-color originally. The interview with the designer also makes me thing it will be Jazz since it sounds like Porsche turned them down. The comment about the American sports car designer makes me wonder. I had heard a Corvette was in the works, I wonder now. The comment about Dodge is encouraging. Maybe it means we'll see more Dodges like maybe a Durango. VW is also a no-go since they don't want their designs used for war toys. I really want to see more variety in the transformations. Four out of 5 have the doors sticking out like wings and the front of the car as the chest. I really wish Hound didn't have doors or had removable doors to be more like the original and a little different from everyone else. I also would like to see the classic Side Swide/Red Alert transformation used.
  9. I miss the big clunky feet of the G1 version. I also wish the doors were removable or not there at all. I don't like Hound having the door-wing look (never liked it on Skids either). The gun storage is very inventive!
  10. I'm glad the Scouring of the Shire was left out. That part of the book was painfully slow for me. I highly suggest the novels (including The Silmarillion) to anyone who enjoyed the movies. They will show you just how rich the history of Middle Earth is. I find the First Age (struggle with Morgoth, tales of Turin, Hurin and Beren) and Second Age (rise and fall of Nemenor, forging of the ring) to be even more interesting than the Third Age (Lord of the Rings is late third age).

    Q-rau

I personally think this item is over priced for what it is. I'm not convinced that the design, development & manufacturing costs warrent the price tag. I think it may have more to do with history. Yamato knows that the core Macross collecting community will pay the price. Why not maximize the profit? The upside is that there will be more money for Yamato to develop new products. I'll probably end up getting one and only one Q-Rau. I don't see a need to spend that much on color variations.
  12. You may want to search in the old forums. I remember a post there. There is also a post in the Where to Buy forums. Where to Buy post
  13. Are the shelves in your cabinet glass? Mine are and I started wondering a few days back if a 1/60 falling over on a 24"x8" glass shelf would break it. If so, the cascade effect could be devestating. Everytime I think I have my collection earthquake proofed, my demented brain comes up with something else. Oh, about that Quake Hold putty stuff, be sure to change it every couple of years. I've noticed it totally loses it's hold after a while. I've been a CA resident for 2.5 years now and I'm not sure that I'll ever leave. I don't miss the snows of Indiana, the ice storms of North Texas or the bleak nothingness of Arizona. I grew up at one end of Tornado Alley then moved to the other end after college, so I got used to constantly worrying about natural disasters striking without warning.
  14. Can someone translate the page for us? Does it say anything about a pilot figure? I would think the pilot would be ready for pictures if this is indeed coming out in Jan. I think I'll pass on this for the time being. I can't help but wonder if it'll be a victim of a low sales price drop.
  15. I stick to a monthy budget that my wife and I agreed on. This way, I still get to pursue my hobby while we aggresively save for our house.
  16. Are those 1/48 hands in that picture?
  17. Very good point. There would have to be a number of 'upgrade' kits listed seperately since they are valkyrie specific (they come with new arms, legs and backpacks). I'm thinking (and praying) that it's just the GBP armor w/o the valk. I really don't need another J, but I do want the armor.
  18. I paid $185 for my 1J FP shipped from Hong Kong. It arrived in 5 business days.
  19. I just wanted to add my $0.02 to this thread. - The Target computer has the US version listed for $59.99 iirc. The $74.99 price that has been thrown around is suggested retail. I expect to see if for less at Target & Wal-Mart (look at Unicron for example). - About the picture from the Japanese show with both the US and Japan versions shown. It may have been that there were a limited number of prototypes available at this time. It may also be that they are showing the Japanese prototype and an early testshot of the US version. This may have been the only way to show both modes at the same time. - About the pictures on the back of the US package. Package pictures are quite often taken using prototypes since the package design is bein done in parallel with the toy development. That is the reason for the ever present disclaimer 'actual product may vary'. - There seem to be quite a few more US testshots than Japanese in circulation. To me, this would imply that the US version is going to arrive first.
  20. I received mine today and am happy overall. The painted heatshield scares me (I have a small scratch already). I would also have liked gray FPs, but that's just my preference. All parts accounted for and no QC issues to report. The little battroid side covers aren't floppy (a first in my experience).
  21. That Silverstreak may force me to revise my No-Transformers policy. He was the first Transformer I ever bought, so maybe he should be the last too.
  22. The number you are referring to is probably the part number for the plastic packaging. This way the manufactuer (of the package) and the factory are able to distinguish between the various package components. BTW, it is possible to include a counter or a changable number in a mold. I have noticed the evidence of it on various products (you can usually see rectangular outlines around the numbers).
  23. Do the new arm FPs fit on the old arms? I hope so since I want to use the FPs on my Roy 1S. Thanks for the pics!!! Happy Turkey Day for all those celebrating.
  24. I'm sure the M&M will come next. I'll be skipping them though. I think I'm done with 1/48 line once I get the Hikaru J FP version. Unless they make a VT-1 or VF-1D.
  25. Things I want to see... - A good poseable 4-5" figure line (DYRL, then TV, M0, M+ & M7). - Maybe some in scale rotocast Zentradi to go with the above. - Destroids from Yamato - M0 stuff from Yamato - M7 stuff from Yamato - Enemy mecha from Yamato - DYRL Macross from Yamato Other possibilities - full size singing Minmay Doll (the doll from the show) - Cat's Eye (mentioned above) - Capitol ships (mentioned above) - Tons of other valk designs from Flashback, games, etc. - Fan Racers (mentioned above) - Support crew sets - Macross transport vehicles (some of the vehicles seen inside the ship)
