  1. Allright, broke down and ordered both 1/60's. For 115 shipped that's an awesome deal. Let's see how soon they ship. Never tried these guys before.
  2. Tie Fighter still remains one of my favorite games that I have ever played. LucasArts hasn't put out a space sim/shooter like it since. I was so disappointed by X-Wing Alliance. It might have been better if it didn't have those family missions. At least they got Jedi Knight right. I wanted to love the first gamecube Rouge Squadron, but it was too annoying in certain missions. I'll rent Rebel Strike eventually and give it a shot, but I doubt I'll end up buying this one.
  3. You must have seen a totally different version of Kill Bill than the rest of us did. She was in Tokyo.
  4. R rated movies you technically need a Parent or Gaurdian for anyone under 18. That does not mean your 18 year old friend can buy tickets for everyone, though it used to work a few yars ago when I was in high school. Theaters are starting to enforce that more now under pressure from above. If you are 21 you can buy tickets for anyone you feel like and they can't say beans, so long as you go in the theatre with the others. Apparently the theatre I went to had a big problem with Kill Bill as had a sign up behind the cashier explaining the policy on R movies. It was kind of funny.
  5. Picking Indy (finally) and Dragonslayer up tomorrow. (Finally Dragonslayer too!) Might get 28 days later, while I'm at it.
  6. Anyone ever buy from there before?
  7. There is no basis for the eva to need armor, in fact it defeats the purpose. The Eva's were intended for hand-to-hand combat, hence they needed to be agile, and the armor they already had was more than sufficient, and also served to restrain the Eva itself. The AT field was what really protected it. There are 2 things that can bring down an Eva: An Angel (or other Eva by same definition) or a positron cannon with enough juice like they used against the diamond shaped angel and tried to use against the angelic one in orbit that mentally attacked Asuka. All that armor would do would add a few missles (if it even has any, haven't seen anything about weaponry), it looks to me like it seals off the prog knife, and it would weigh the eva down. Maybe add some battery life. That might be a small saving grace, but that still doesn't say much. It's useless, rather hideous and I have to wonder if they even passed that one by Anno or Sadamoto for approval before tossing it into the game. If anything, use the riot-type shield they designed for Unit-04
  8. Never bothered to try that forum, nor do I plan to.
  9. That second one is my new work wallpaper. The pic looks very realistic.
  10. I guess I was lucky. No ANALytical jerks this time around. 28 Days later was the last time I ran into idiots like that. Only one cell phone went off, and a nicely desensitised crowd, who found a lot of stuff as humourous as me. Like when the Bride slammed the door on Buck the last time, or the decapitiation. I do agree that it isn't really a movie you take a young kid to see, but to each their own. As long as the kid is quiet it is not really any of my business. I noticed too, that the blood did not start spraying like it did until you saw it in the Anime sequence first. After that was when it was all over the place. Interesting touch. I also liked seeing a few people do the battoujitsu bit using the sheath as a weapon as well. Don't see it too often.
  11. Neither my 1/48 Roy, Hikaru, or Fast Pack set came with tape sealing the boxes.
  12. Something happens in the show once and also in the movie where the suit turns black for a short while. Looked pretty cool like that actually. I still cannot recommend the series enough for those who have not seen it. Great show. The movie was good too, just a little rushed, but still well executed. I look forward to getting my figure, it looks pretty well done.
  13. Looks sweet, but Prime and Yammies beats out a $150+shipping endoskeleton. Too much for my blood.
  14. That's pretty wierd, I figured the black and white stretch when she fought the Crazy 88's was just a part of the film style. An interesting touch actually. Curious how the DVD will come out. Awesome movie. I liked the little touches in there, like the katana holders on the airplane. You could feel the anime influences scattered throughout the movie mixed in well with the homages to old school samurai flicks. Tarantino scored a winner with this one, I wish the second part would come out sooner. I used to not like Uma Thurman at all, but she managed to change my opinion of her some with the good performance she pulled off here.
  15. Simple Explanation: Max and Millia were in the -22's. They could have gone out in 11's, 17's, or 19's just as easily and come out alive. I still think they liked the Q-rau aspects personally.

    1/48 Line

Here's a sample of that thread... News from Yamato has surfaced. A limited 1/1 VF1 line will be made and brought out in 2005. Fanboy 1: Does it come with the helmet and the shoulder pads? Fanboy 2: Hope not I already got mine. FAnboy 3: I'm a banana! Fanboy 1: Well I for one think they should come with the helmets becuase at the price they're asking for that's deserves a helmet. Fanboy 4: The price hasn't been announced yet. Fanboy 5: I'm gonna start a poll 1 hour later Fanboy 6: Dude you poll is all f'd up, you forgot all of the above. Fanboy 3: Mah ANUS is bleeding... Fanboy 2: Does it come with FaST packs, cuz that would totally rule! Fanboy 1: Dude do you have any idea how much that would cost? RT guy: I want Rick! Fanboy 3: hehe... you're gay... Its amazing how you managed to put every single MW stereotype in one single post. yeah, but its still some funny sh!t!! Very nicely done, with a hint of truth behind it.
  17. A standard bookshelf may not even support the weight of the 1/60 Monster. Can someone post a copy the the picture of it Black Aces took at one of the Cons for this guy? Imagine the shipping costs on that thing. We've already beaten to death who will or won't buy the thing. Suffice to say, if you have the space, and are willing to drop probably 350 (+ SHIPPING) on 1 item then go for it. Put it on a motorized dolly and scare the hell out of your neighbor's dog.
  18. With it's Q-rau traits and payload, I would be under the impression that a VF-22 would technically have the superior Battroid mode. The VF-19 would seem to have the better Fighter mode. If I remember correctly the YF-19 was kind of kicking the YF-21's ass in the trials, from the results display they showed climbing for both during one of the scenes. Switching the control system to a conventional one instead of the BCS might affect the 21's performance for the better, though. Overall they were very comparable VF's. If you anticipate being in Battroid a lot or have piloted a Q-rau before, then a 22 might be preferable. Hence why Max had customs built for himself and Millia in M7.
  19. I still prefer the original. It kept me engrossed the whole series, and was more realistically portrayed. I enjoyed M7 a great deal, but it took a while to get anywhere. Starting with City 7 being stolen it got pretty good though, and got better as it progressed. Overall security getting into critical sections was rather weak it seemed though. <_< Mylene annoyed me in the end, and I never did like Basara, but it was still a good series. Basara wasn't as bad as Kaifun though. I'll never know how Hikaru allowed him to get on his plane to go to the Macross. Also, props to it for showcasing so many valks. I was pleasantly surprised to see the 3 old guys in the Monster, and Millia's 1J again. The show had originality at the very least.
  20. The Macross 3 DVD Box Set [DVD] is a 3 disc box set including Macross Plus OVA x 2 discs, and Macross II.
  21. Proper VF-19 Fast Pack boosters mount on the shoulders anyway. The paint job seems kind of weak overall. A nice effort, but no way worth what he's asking. The base is probably a bootleg Fire Valk anyway.
