Max and Millia flew in a Max scheme Blue D model in their wedding episode. I'm figuring they used the D models in SDF Macross kind of like how F-16D's are used. The F-16D models are used for training, for incentive flights, and such, and they can be flown alone or with someone in the back to assist, also in combat of course. In M0 it seems they were using VF-0D models for the pilots coming off of flying F-14's, using the back seat as a RIO just like normal for them. It would stand to reason some of those surviving pilot pairs would use D model VF-1's in Space War 1 as well.

How is the balance on the toy? Will it be able to pose decently?

Saw it tonight. I loved it. Very well done, IMO. I don't mind at all that they ennding was so long, I prefer it when characters get some proper closure. I will probably see it again soon. I want to see the rest of the stuff from the extended version of it now, too, but I have to wait a while for that. I hope Peter Jackson gets clearance to do the Hobbit within a few years.

Yeah, "Roast Beast." Don't you kids watch the classics anymore? Look at his Grinch avatar and reach back to your childhood. -
I'll probably transform it once, and then leave it in Guymelef mode permanently after that.

The feddie CF pilots were the best with their thumbs up and what not. Stupid. The whols thing looked like a poorly done cosplaying skit. Was that construction paper on Char's mask around his eyes? BTW, NoSuchFile, I love your new avatar.

I'll do the same deal, but with only 5 dollars to me per person. My satisfaction guaranteed. -

Guy wrote (for his 1st post) a page and a half stream of crap about some make cash quick scheme. Completely obvious, very long winded, and rather stupid. Amazed he actually took the effort to write all that, though he probably cut and pasted it from a word doc. I think the post lasted less than a half hour before I reported it here, and by the time I got up this morning a mod already terminated it. We did pretty good on not feeding the troll this time either. I'm just curious, was the guy banned, too? Or wait and see if he comes back? -
I enjoyed the first one, except for when he pushed MJ away, and he's still trying to keep her away in the sequel. Hopefully he will cave and just bag her already. I like Kirsten Dunst, what can I say. Anyway, the second one seems promising. Doc Oc looks all right. I look forward to seeing it.

Agreed, I haven't seen that trick here yet, and such a long winded spam to boot. -

Being Jet Engine turbines, NOT nuclear reaction engines, don't they need AIR to operate?

Could a mod please exterminate this: bs thread Maybe the guy too. I have to give this guy some points for originality at least.

The VF-X-4 does indeed transform. See page 66 of the Kawamori Macross Design Works. There is a concept drawing of the VF-X-4 in GERWALK. I just looked at it now. An early design sketch with a gun or something on top. Doesn't look like the exact same plane as the VF-X-4 proto. You were right though that it was in fact variable. I forgot how sweet the armored gerwalk was on the VF-4. The compendium does say Since the VF-X-4 prototype was shown in fighter mode on Hikaru's shelf, that's fair game. If they want to transform the "YF-4" into a different looking battroid (could be done) then more power to them. I'm just saying the VF-4 battroid is off limits. I would even venture to say they wouldn't be able to copy the transformation sequence legally, as that is part of the mechanical design of the finished VF-4. At the time of SDF Macross the VF-X-4 was drawn up in fighter only, so that's all HG has to work with.

Seems like they are pushing the VF-X-4 it as far as they can go without using a full on VF-4.
-
Sweeet!!!

That's what I said: VF-X-4, I just kinda wrote VFX-4 by accident. The VF-X-4 did not transform, right? That's why it shares the vf-1's forward fuselage.

This just popped up on the Movies and TV page, but in one of the new Robotech comics they are using the VFX-4 prototype, calling it a YF-4. Since a model of the plane was shown in the show on Hikaru's desk they can get away with that, I would guess. My question if are they allowed to have it transform? The prototype was a airframe test only, right? It did not transform IIRC. If they do make it transform would that itself be BS or if they make it different loking in battroid than an actual VF-4 would it be permissabel, legal wize. I say it's bull to begin with, but at least someoine is using a VF-4 in some fashion or another.

Thank to the MW staff for a great year. Look forward to many more here.

I saw that in the store too. They are using the VFX-4 prototype in one of the robotech comics, just they are calling it a YF-4. Since they showed a model of it in the original SDF Macross they can get away with that one. I don't think the prototype could transform though. It was an airframe test IIRC. If it does transform in that comic, it better look nothing like an actual VF-4 or someones head is going to roll.

I work with a guy who was an avionics tech on Harriers, he was the one who told me about them. And you're right, for every thing to work right and spit you out the other side intact would be a miracle, I think it's more intended to up your chances of survival in case that kind of thing happens. Incedentally I think I've seen the video in question, I beilieve the aircraft that the guy got sucked into was an A-6 (or EA-6). Yeah, I agree on the up the probability point. Every little bit helps. And I just thought they were hearing protection and a hardhat helmet put together. I need to do a search and see if I can find that footage. That would be crazy to see.
