Discussing Gundam Seed's cast members in my recent thread made me think up a little question for you guys. I am not looking for this thread to become a dub/sub war. I am just curious. In your opinion what was the best done English dub you've heard? Also, what was the worst dub? Feel free to throw in honorable mentions for the two categories if you like as well. For me the absolute worst dub I have ever had the displeasure of listening to doing a spot check was the Love Hina dub. I raced for the language change on that one. Especially after hearing Kitsune. The best dub award I would give to Cowboy Bebop's dub. I did not have a single problem with it at all. Well done.

I was doing essays at the same time, and since Mahoromatic wasn't that serious a show to begin with (mostly), I said what the hell and listened to the dub. I thought it was at least tolerable, especially for a B level show like Mahoromatic. That was just for season one, season two is all Japanese. Though I do have to say I liked Slash, and Belldandy's VA did pretty good as Mahoro. Shigure's voice got a little grating, pitching his voice like that had to hurt after a while. It usually has to be a really good dub for me to watch it that way. I even turn on the subtitles to check how accurate the translation is on the English track when I experiment for an episode or two. With 3 night classes I had to compromise on that one. My backlog is so high right now, anime wise. I still need to watch Noir, Captain Tylor, Vampire Princess Miyu, KOR OVA's, RahXephon, YUA boxes one and two, and Gasaraki, and a couple Ghibli movies. I will be taking advantage of no classes until Jan 26th, and go back to my days of marathion sessions and try to catch up with the backlog I built up this semester. No time to do anything. I will be so happy once finals week is done.

Totally Off Topic - But FREAKIN ME OUT

At least since your wife already knows about it, she can help keep a lookout. Is she trained up on the .45, too, just in case? Have a buddy keep a covert eye on the payphone, if you can. If not, then I guess it is time to camo up and slueth outside seeing what's up. I would say your wife or one of her friends building up to something, but she has to see you're worked up about it, so hopefully she'll call it off if that was the case. -
Actually we'll have to listen to the Zeta comparisons first. Then a 3 way when Seed comes out. No one's mentioned G lately, or will again probably. I'll give the dub a try and probably switch back to the Japanese track, like usual. I think the last dub I watched was Mahoromatic. Everything else lately I have watched in Japanese. I might have watched FMP in dub, except Sosuke's VA didn't sound right at all, the rest did ok.

Any one custom a 1/48 Blue Rose yet?

Totally Off Topic - But FREAKIN ME OUT

I still say it's a girl you know trying to be creative for Christmas. If it was a trap, why would they bother with the whole 12 days, bit, and just get you with the first one. Besides, not many guys would go to that much trouble for a Christmas prank, getting creative and actually writing poems. -
Had an F-16C taken down during a trip to canada. 88-0357. Taken down by pelicans in the intake and through the canopy glass. Pilot landed in a tree and only bruised his arm. Back to topic, the VF-22's nosecone is my pick.

We don't want a real life rendiditon of FMP: Fumoffu, where Sosuke was camoed up with a sniper rifle pointed at the girl who sent him a love letter. Are there any girls that you've been talking to lately, one that may be a little interested, and decided to try something original for Christmas? Maybe on the 12th day you'll find her on your doorstep wrapped with a bow . You can keep a baseball bat by the door just in case, but for now it could pay to be optimistic and play along for now. -
I have no clue who these people are either, that's why I had to use IMDB to try to find some roles they each did that I can recognize. Somehow Crispin Freeman and Richard Cox are the only two names I can remember without looking up.

After that favorite paint scheme.

Perfect job, Jung. Can't wait for Yamato to make one, though I highly doubt it will look anywhere near what you did with it.

Mospaeda wasn't exactly the pinnacle of realism.

Aghhh, Exams Wednesday, after that need to finish Essays for English Saturday morning. Maybe I can get off work early on Friday, go see Matinee then.

Judging from her performance as Alexis in Armada, we are at least assured Fllay will sound bitchy enough. <_< I'm undecided about Kira, I think the guy did all right as Havok. Potential at least. We'll see when he starts crying. I haven't really been disappointed by a Gundam dub yet personally, so I have hopes this crew will do decent. If a couple of episodes pass and I'm not impressed, or am annoyed I'll switch back to the Japanese track, per my usual procedure. I'd like to know who the lady doing Natarle is, I found Natarle way more annoying than Fllay, and am curious how she may come out. I can't help but chuckle that Athrun is played by double D. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but I keep envisioning double D in my mind saying "You said you'd shoot too, Kira!" Dillandau's craziness would fit well with Azrael, just I hope the guy mans his voice up a little this time, and he should sound fine.

Kirsten Dunst is hot.

Anime on DVD has posted Bandai's official English cast list for Gundam Seed. Not a whole lot of recognizable people. A lot had some parts in X-Men Evolution, Hamtaro , TF: Armada, Soul Taker, and a few from Ed, Edd, and Eddy . I have not seen Soul Taker so I cannot judge performances from there. With a lot of these guys having relatively minor rolls in a lot of stuff, or nothing I could find of use using IMDB, it's really hard to judge it yet. Guess we'll have to see when it comes out. First glance looks like I'll be sticking with the Japanese track again. A few decent cast choices can be seen so far at least. Here is the list, with anything notable I could find these guys did added after their character. Bandai Lists Gundam SEED Voice Cast -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Directly from Bandai, here is the cast list for the 2004 release of Gundam SEED was announced: Alison Matthews - Narrator Matt Hill - Kira (Carlos in TF: Armada, Havok in X-men Evolution, Ryo in Ronin Warriors) Mark Oliver - Rau (Misc voices in gundam Wing) Trevor Devall - Mu (Shesta in Escaflowne, Shiro in Soul Taker) Lisa Anne Beley - Murrue (Relena in Gundam Wing) Sam Vincent - Athrun (Edd (double-D) in Ed, Edd, and Eddy , few other small anime rolls) Vanessa Morley - Cagalli Brad Swaile - Dearka (Quatre in Gundam Wing, Mousse in Ranma) Anna Cummer - Miriallia Richard Cox - Tolle (Inuyasha and Ranma themselves) Tabitha St. Germain - Flay, Birdy, Haro (Alexis in TF: Armada) Note: translated BIRDY instead of TORI FYI. Wow, I've seen the exclusives at Right Stuf, but I didn't know he made so many. The End of Eva and the Kenshin boxes are pretty sweet. Might have to inquire about the Macross one though. Really nice. 11 discs capacity, so Animeigo Macross x 9 discs, and Fx DYRL, and Flashback 2012. OOOO, and the black Lain case is sweet too.

It probably just uses anti-grav generators to generate it's lift and stability.

The shoulders will probable just click over the old ones, I doubt they'll just rest on the old ones. Those hands are bigger than it's head. I hope those are just 1/48 hands as placeholders with the real fists just not available at the time of the pic.
-
Whetever scale they can make it, and keep it in the same price range as a 1/48 w/ fast packs at the most.

You know they're keeping it a secret so far if David Hingtgen hasn't found pics yet. Shame I never kept with anyone from when I was in. I knew a guy who was heading to Edwards right after I got out, and a couple of Eglin. Oh well. Thanks for the stats. I was dumb again saying 2000 pounders ( I've seen the damn things how many times with the guidance tips, so I should have realized those wouldn't fit). Even so, all those missles really is a lot for internal weapon bays. Very impressive plane. What kind of external fuel tanks can it carry? Usual externals I'm sure if they wanted, but I'm sure they normally wouldn't plan on it since it would kill the steath. Does anyone know if there is one to fit in the ventral bay, maybe? For long distance travel and what not?

I know I want a good DYRL SDF-1 on my shelf.

If they covered the engines and the intakes, then it wouldn't seem wierd at all, but since they only covered the engines it kind of suggests they didn't want pics of the vector nozzles. At least they displayed it with the weapon bay doors open. Looks like it can hold two x 2000 pounders in the bay underneath. What's the official internal weapons count on the 22?
-
The F-4's are still at Tyndall for target practice. At least they were in April 2001 when I went The 22's a great looking plane, wouldn't have minded working on that one, probably. I wonder if they made the 22 easier on maintenance as they were saying. I know they added some stuff to the Ejection seat, so that would have added some stuff for me at least. Leg Guards, and they moved the drogue chute up on top instead of in the back of the seat like the other ACES II seats. Kinda surprized they covered up the engines like that, but also not really because they probably don't want 5000 pics of the actual vector nozzles yet. Interesting, the Canopy Jettison seems to be on the side of the jet by the missle bay instead of by the cockpit like usual. Note where the Rescue arrow points.
