One thing that AvP 1 got right was the agility and deadliness of the Aliens. In that first major fight scene between the Ailens and the Preds, it was almost an even fight in terms of how many of each side got killed. I hope these Aliens still have that same sense of deadliness and danger. Also, new AvP 2 clip here: Blood, guts, gore... oh, my.

My favourite Aliens moment is near the start, when Seargent Apone wakes from cryo, shakes his head, and promptly chomps down on his cigar. Told you everything you needed to know about him right then I'm so glad that was copied/emulated in Halo with Seargent Johnson. Much coolness.

That only makes the text sieze bigger. Since I'm using my 46" big screen as my computer monitor, it's really a pain to have to watch those tiny, tiny video windows that most websites use. The zoom function in IE 7 scales everything up in size. Just tried that and it doesn't work. Imbedded video files still only partly load (if at all). But since it seems to only happen around this time of night and not at others, maybe I should give my service provider a call.

I have Firefox installed but I don't like it. It doesn't have a zoom function that I can find to make the text bigger.

Question for you tech-types. Every now and then my computer will refuse to load up any sort of imbedded video file (YouTube, GameTrailers, etc.) and might not even load the page itself. I'll leave it for a few hours and suddenly everything is back to normal. This is most frustraiting and I could use some help. I'm using the stock IE 7 that comes with Vista, though I've disable the phising filter in the vain hopes that this would solve the problem.

Not just the fans, but for all the non-fans that needed to be brought up to speed on the backstory. That's another good one, yeah. But it ranks slightly behind the arrival because of the music. As I said before, the epic music during that arrival sequence just *worked* for me. And I agree with the whole "calm enough to uderstand the action".

Now that I've rewatched the film, I think one of the unsung heros that deserves mention is the soundtrack. So great and so appropriate for the action on the screen. The arrival of the Autobots was suitably epic, and all of the car chase and car beauty shots scenes were rrghtly pumping and energetic. I think the Barricade/Bumblebee chase sequence is my second-favourite part of the film.

Scary, isn't it? Agreed. Best scene in the film by far.

I've got my Xbox 360 and it's HD-DVD drive hooked up to my TV with the standard component cables that came with the unit. The system dashboard says that it's set to 1080i, but is it actually outputting at that since I'm not using HDMI or VGA connectors? I tried a frame-to-frame comparison with Last Samurai DVD and HD-DVD and couldn't see much difference between the two.

Beast Wars rocks! I prefer the earlier eps to the later ones, but I still rank the series as being better than G1.

I just did, and it seems that it's a Continental US deal only, which truely sucks. I could hop in a car and drive to Bioware and yet I can't get the LE? Bah and humbug.

Mass Effect has just gone gold and all the articles say that there'll be a Collectors Edition at participating stores. Does anyone know which stores are participating in this? I can't find a list anywhere.

I'd like to see either the Constructicons or possible the Headmasters. Maybe leave the Headmasters to the sequel. And I agree about the transforming aircraft carrier. That's a terrible idea right from the beginning.

Of course. Halo games are a lisence to print money and only a truly foolish business man would turn that down. I just hope it doesn't become as rediculous as Final Fantasy. What part are they up to now? #2749?
