1. My personal favourite is Louie, in response to Angelo: "Well when you gotta go, you gotta go, so let's get going." Then again, there's also Dana dragging Bowie into her room to give opinions on which outfit she should wear... and then summarily dismissing his opinions and wearing what she wanted to. C'mon, how many men have had to go through that with their significant others?
2. And yet, that seems to be the de facto standard for anime heroes these days.
3. But a pretty good short live action adaption. Got most of the details right, even if there was less T&A in two half-hour episodes than in two pages of one issue of the comic Actually, I liked the TV series. It didn't try to clone the comic, but took the major ideas and reworked them into a decent TV show.
4. Just curious, are you kidding or are you serious? Sometimes it's really hard to detect sarcasm on these boards. The way the legs rotate in the middle is pretty weak and if you have fastpacks you can't get that outward angle at all. Pretty lame in my book. This picture is courtesy of www.anymoon.com and it's review of the original 1/60 releases. 407101 Exactly my point. Compared to that pic, the MPC Guardian A-stance is better and more anime-accurate, I think.
5. While the visuals are great and the 5.1 audio is a great treat, I'm prefer the original English dub to this newer one. Maybe that's what I'm used to, or maybe it's just plain better, but this newer dub just seems flat by comparison.
6. Three of my favourite shows right there. I still love the mecha and plot twists of Orgun
7. Greatest Monster Fight For me, it's a toss-up between Guyver I vs Enzyme (original animated series) and Guyver vs Guyver Zoanoid from the second live action movie. Both fights had great choreography, and when fighting against Enzyme I, there's the rest sense of danger to the hero that's absent in most shows. Word. That fight just blew me away when I first saw it. So beautifully animated and paced.
8. Take the biggest, baddest, most festering pile of crap that you can imagine; now double that and raise it to the power of infinity.
9. Say whatever you will, the MPC has the best Guardian/Gerwalk mode of all VF-1 toys.
10. If you're into fighting games, you can't go wrong with Dead Or Alive 4. Fantastically smooth framerate, fast and furious action onscreen (and off-screen as you yell at your opponent for beating you... again), and enough campy humour to make it amusing. All in all, a great game. Coming up, there's Gears of War, which has had all the previewers virtually spooging themselves while waiting for it. Splinter Cell: Double Agent is the reason why I bought the 360, and it's due out in September of this year. And then there's the inevevitable Halo 3, which will be out God Only Knows When. While their launch line-up was less than stellar or populated, soon enough there's be some better games just down the way.
11. The only quality issue I have with my Alpha is that I'm too damned impatient to try to fit all those itty bitty little pieces back into their exact little place, and therefore end up with malformed fighter.
12. Bite your tongue. Splinter Cell: Double Agent is due out in September. That's a "must by now" game.
13. That opening sequence with the torn film is iconic to Robotech. It's like the Bond theme.
14. The only problem is that Virtua Cop is a lightgun game, and without said attachment, the game is pretty well bland.
15. If I can sit and watch the entirety of Macross 7, a series I thoroughly and totally despised, anyone should be able to watch at least the first half of the Southern Cross series. Give it a chance. You may be surprised.... 400316 I never thought I'd say this, but First Boarder has a point. If you can watch Macross 7 (which I cannot, despite valiantly trying twice), you can watch anything.
16. Sure. If it doesn't work, we can always beg a regular mod to reset the poll properly
17. I was underwhelmed by the Halo trailer. Considering the treatment Halo 2 got in its E3, this was less than inviting. If people didn't say that it was in-game footage, I would dismiss it as a useless pre-rendered teaser.
18. Do it! We dare you!
19. you can challenge yourself in metal gear solid not to kill anyone (besides the bosses), but people like to kill ;; That's part of what he means. There's no alternative to blowing all the bosses away. A REAL Solid Snake would do everything in his power to avoid the confrontation.398554 See, this is part of the reason why I've sold my Metal Gear games and latched onto Splinter Cell as my spy game of choice. In Splinter Cell, especially Chaos Theory (and the new Double Agent, I believe) you actually get docked points if you kill anyone, or even knock them out. The only way to get 100% on a mission is to get in, do your stuff, and get out without leaving a trail of dead and unconsious bodies behind you. To get back to the topic at hand, I think I've got a problem with less-than-a-week-old 360. Twice now while playing DOA4 (great game, that) a rattling noise starts coming from the 360, the background music ends and the voice actors' voices don't play during the end animations, and then the game freezes. The only way to get it unfrozen is to shut the power off and wait for a bit. I've looked at the disc and I can see no noticiable scratches on it, but I don't really want to go through this too often. Do you more knowledgable people think this the unit wonky or just a poor game disc?
20. Heh, at least someone has a sense of humour
21. See, that's just a really crappy thing to do, albeit a smart business decision. At least the 360 stripped-down verion was just missing some peripherals and extra add-ons, and not a reduced package. Everyone rags on Microsoft's business tactics, but this is just a money-grab by Sony. This, plus the price, plus the fact that there are no platform-exclusive titles that appeal to me means that there will be no PS3 for me.
22. Just picked up a 360. It's heavier than I thought it would be, but that also makes it quite stable when I stand it up on its edge use it that way. Right now, I only have DoA 4, but the graphics on that are amazing. Especially the water effects in the levels. But I think my favourite gimmick is the ability to turn the console on and off using the wireless control. Such a nifty little trick that I enjoy waaaay too much I haven't been that enamoured with the Call of Duty demos in the store, so it may be a rental for me, and I'm eagerly awaiting Spinter Cell 4, which I will probably buy on launch day, if not pre-order it ahead of time. So far, I can't say anything bad about the system. Anyone have any reccomendations for any upcoming games?
23. What about Temura Morrison as Boba Fett?
24. Indeed. My "must purchase the system" game is going to be Splinter Cell: Double Agent, which is due out in September.
25. Lynx says what I was trying to say. Not just the "megaversal hub" as you call it (which is pretty nifty all on its own) but the sheer amounts of background material for the rest of Rifts Earth (30+ additional books and still counting) is simply staggering. India, Africa, Japan, Canada , Germany, Russia, etc. all get their time in the limelight and they all get equally good treatment. However, I do admit that my favourite games are ones were I get to pull in characters from other games and let them loose in Rifts Earth. A VHT vs a UAR-1 is increadably good fun Their early stuff is like that, yeah. But look at their later books, especially their Seige On Tolkeen series. Holy Crap, that's not an RPG, that's a novel with some numbers thrown in. Rifts Canada and Free Quebec are almost entierly setting for at least the first half of the book. The newest game they put out, Splicers, is a great example of this new layout. The skills and OCCs and other rules are at the very end of the book.
