  1. A-wing! Great! Hope they come with separate decals so we could deco it as Green wing or blue wing😁 Yup the B-wing is pretty much as wide as a Y-wing is long... Here's a pic of my 1/144 collections from Ftoys from a couple years back... With a 1/144 super hikaru 😁 Just need BWing, TIE interceptor and TIE bomber and we're all set for OT. I would love for a X-wing re release with possibles to do deco it up in Wedge from either ANH or ROTJ!
  2. Yup, 5-6", quite a nice size! Toyark recently posted some sample pics of the HK's from Terminator... the Aerial HK looks great! Tank HK looks like an evil Wall-E
  3. Saw these recently from here: http://www.figures.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79757 Looks good! The initial release will be from Alien/Aliens: • UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship, with miniature Armored Personnel Carrier that fits inside the bay (Aliens) • M577 Armored Personnel Carrier (Aliens) • “Origin” Derelict Ship with display stand (Alien) • Fossilized Space Jockey (Alien) There will be more from other franchises such as Terminator (Aerial HK/Tank HK), Predator ... Looks like a boon for sci-fi vehicle collectors!
  4. I hope Bandai goes back to finishing up the kits from OT, at the very least we still need 1/72 A-wing 1/72 B-wing 1/72 TIE bomber 1/72 TIE interceptor I could also wish for 1/144 Lambda-class shuttle 1/144 OT Falcon (this should be in the pipeline! wouldn't take much to rework the TFA Falcon) 1/48 AT-AT to go with the 1/48 AT-ST,Snowspeeder would be nice, but highly unlikely due to size (PG-sized? hmmm) That should round up the main starships in the current two scales of Bandai's vehicle kits... For the character lines, there should still be Snowtroopers, to round up the 'troopers we have so far, an individual Scout would be nice too. Not sure if Bandai's license extends to the PT, for all the flak it gets, I think the vehicle designs are still pretty decent!
  5. Neat! Really nice illustrations, the theme fits really well! Reminds me a lot of Bandai's Star Wars meisho figures: http://kotaku.com/samurai-vader-and-ronin-boba-fett-realize-star-wars-jap-1754807646
  6. Thanks for the comparison between the Disney and FFG Star Destoyers! I caved in and bought the FFG one off Amazon, at about US$38. Picked up a Home One too! I would have gotten the Disney one as well, but unfortunately Disney store doesn't ship overseas. Bummer... It's too bad the Bandai one is so small... 10cm! I'll stick pick up one to see how's the detail on that thing, but yeah, 20-30 would have been ideal. Actually, does anyone remember when Bandai had the ST license a few years back, and they made a bunch of Enterprises with light up functions? http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/builds/ban/build_ban_916424.shtml Wouldn't it be great if they could revisit this concept, and give us a bunch of SW capital ships, eg Star Destoyers, Mon Cals, Corellian Corvettes, Frigates... I know I would get every one of them...
  7. In the context of the OT and PT, we've seen how Obi-wan and Luke were both unwilling to kill Anakin and Vader when they had the upper hand, so it's not implausible that Luke would have refrained from killing Kylo, if Kylo at the end was grovelling for mercy... While Force-blocking and cancelling of memories still hasnt been established as canon in the PT/OT and CW/Rebels, I think TFA is really hinting at this, when we consider Rey's blocked memories and how she apparently knows how to use the Force though she has no recollection. Also, TFA seems to suggest a more telepathic Force, as when Kylo tried to draw out Poe/Rey's memories. If Luke did manage to remove Kylo's Force abilities, then Luke wouldn't have any reason to kill the apparently hapless Kylo, since Kylo could no longer harm anyone else. As for Snoke, the current canon is that he's an ancient evil, IIRC. Which means he predates the PT, when the Jedi were still strong and dominant. If even Yoda and the Jedi council were oblivious of Snoke then, Luke may not have known it was Snoke who turned Kylo. In fact, Luke may have blamed himself, which spurred Luke to look for the Jedi temple to look for answers. And if he thought that the only Force user left in the galaxy was himself, he may have felt he was no longer needed. The First Order could be dealt with by the Republic, there was no Sith behind it. Or so he thought. Though it was 30 years between ROTJ and TFA, as rightly pointed out, Luke probably didn't disappear for 30 years. Given that the massacre happened when Kylo was an adult, going by flashback, Luke could have disappeared for 10 years or less? And if Luke did go into seclusion a la Yoda, he probably wasn't aware of the rise of the First Order, or Kylo's return. Anyway, this is all fan conjecture! Might just turn out that Snokes was really Jar Jar all along...
  8. Another scenario could be that Luke was off world when Kylo turned and massacred the new Jedi academy with the knights of Ren. Luke, feeling a disturbance in the force, rushed back to the temple and upon see his dead students, went Jedi berzerk and killed every one of the Knights. Finally, facing a masked Kylo, Luke disarms him and just as he's about to deal the killing blow, he unmasks Kylo and finally sees who he really is. This snaps out of his killing frenzy when , realizes how close he was to the Dark Side. Feeling that there is "still good in him" and unwilling to kill his own nephew, Luke force blocks Kylo's Jedi powers, leaving him Force insensitive. Luke then goes into retreat and hiding to better control himself and learn how to better train students to avoid the Dark side. Before that, he also Force blocks Rey's powers and leaves her on Jakku for her own good. Unknown to him, Snoke comes on scene and returns Kylo's Jedi powers, but not fully... Which is why Snoke summons Kylo at the end of TFA, to complete his training This actually parallels ROTS, and I guess could make sense...
  9. While the Freedom is one of my favourite designs from SEED, I'm not terribly excited about this MG, the first release years ago was and still is a pretty decent kit. Not too sure why the shoulder cannons seem to open up, don't remember that happening in the anime... What is exciting though, is that Freedom 2.0 could finally mean we're getting a MG Justice. Finally! I actually prefer the design of Justice, and I never understood why Justice never got a MG release, though the Inifinite Justice (IMHO infinitely inferior) did get one... Till now, the only decent rendition of Justice was the great RG version... here's hoping MG Justice gets an announcement sooner rather than later. (I'm also holding out for an MG Assault Buster V2!)
  10. Just like in one of the earlier posts, it's too bad that dragon didn't got for a more common scale like 1/48 to match up with the bandai kits. Unless they're contractually bound not to do1/48. would have been great to get a 1/48 to go with the other 1/48 kits esp the at-st and snow speeder. Perhaps bandai has one in the works... Yeah, I'm still clamouring for more capital ships from Star Wars... Bandai has done capital ships before from Yamato2199 and previously in their EX model line... Hoping for some kind of announcement this year!
  11. The largest craft in FFG is probably the huge Corellian Corvette from the X-wing game https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/x-wing/products/tantive-iv-expansion-pack/ Yeah, the Neb-B from the Armada game is quite small... I hope with the new wave of kits from Dragon, Bandai etc, one of the them will start making capital ships! ISD, Mon Cal cruiser, Corellian Corvette, Neb-B, Rebel transports!
  12. Watched this a few days ago. Overall, same as sentiments as most people, it was a great Star Wars experience, which makes it highly enjoyable but also its greatest crutch. The new characters were great, good performances by their actors all around, this is going to be Daisy Ridley's breakout role for sure. Loved the visuals! What I didn't like was the movie being I do have good comments from friends who've never followed star wars, so the movie did succeed as an introduction to the SW universe and bringing new fans on board. I'd still watch this multiple times but I'd rank this behind ESB and ANH.
  13. Have you considered the miniatures from FFG? A bit pricey for what you get, but it is a very nicely detailed miniature https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/x-wing/products/force-awakens-core-set/ Me, I haven't gone into FFG stuff but I'm yearning for a large Star Destroyer. The largest I have is the shokugan one from a few years back by F toys. I also have the micro machines one and the Black series one... But all are small The FFG one is really nice though https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/star-wars-armada/products/imperial-class-star-destroyer-expansion-pack/ Anyone know of any other options for a larger star destroyer besides the FFG one...?
  14. Oh... THAT photo... It's got me wondering though, all this while the show runners have been saying that Jon snow is dead and dead is dead.... After seeing that shot, perhaps what they were trying to say is that
  15. So the -Generations series will be collector-focused, while the RiD/main AOE line will be kiddie-focused: http://www.bwtf.com/events/toyfair-2014 It's an interesting read! The designs actually look quite decent. And Voyager Grimlock seems like the one to get. The samurai-theme looks good on Grimmy and the other bots!
  16. Yeah, and I think the serial numbers are giveaway clues too: DWG227 -> Ho 227 DDG110 -> Bf 110 DWG262 -> Me 262 DWG109 -> Bf 109 DMB87 "Snooka"-> Ju 87 "Stuka" DBG88 -> Ju 88 Can't place the FWG97 torpedo bomber though... Gotta wait a few more days for mine, getting the GAMILLAS book due end of the month too
  17. Thought this would be of interest. The US BluRay is releasing 15 Oct, the Japanese version is only due for release in Dec.... BUT, it's got both English and Japanese tracks, AND English and Japanese subs! http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00F3WXFIE/ref=pe_309492_158123612_pd_re_dt_dt1 Language: 英語, 日本語 Subtitles: 日本語, 英語 Region: All Regions
  18. Does anyone have the concert orchestral CD? link Love the music but torn between getting either this or the OST part 1 to go with my order of the discs.
  19. Just watched this today. Really awesome film, it hit all the right notes if you're a anime fan! Props to the art and visual fx department! The angles really gave it a great sense of scale too. I could see this having an anime adaptation really easily. Saw in it regular 2D, but it seems like 3D IMAX is the way to go. Wish I had read the posts here before watching, but didn't want to spoil myself just in case. Oh, and this: Apparently yes, according to Kotaku: http://kotaku.com/pacific-rims-most-emotional-line-was-left-untranslated-789403352 That sounds really awesome. Unfortunately, in my theatre, it was dubbed over, so it looked really weird and out of sync, and totally lost its intended effect. This is a must-buy Blu Ray for me, whatever special edition gets released. I do hope the line above doesn't get dubbed over.. and would it be too hard to wish for a Japanese track too?
  20. I recently caught the Rurounin Kenshin live action movie, found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable action flick. I know the anime has been around for quite a while and is really popular, but I've never watched the anime before, so I commenting on this purely on the film. Great fight scenes, minimal use of CG, liked it enough to get it on BluRay if its ever released. Fully recommend to all fans of the genre, found it to be more entertaining than 13 Samurai! 21. Wow! (re)Buy! The MG ver 1 was good for its time, but against the newer releases it looked kinda lacking in detail. Ver2 is great! Also, I just noticed the announcement of a HG Perfect Strike... MG Perfect Strike would make sense too. Was never a fan of the Nu Gundam, but that ver Ka looks amazing...
  22. MG? To be honest, I'm expecting Bandai to release a ver2 of the Aile Striker. Given that all the other GAT models have been released, it should be straightforward for Bandai to make use of exisiting parts, particularly from the Duel Gundam! I've got both MG Aile Strike and Freedom, itching to build them but can't shake off the feeling that the moment I start, Bandai will announce a ver2 Aile or Freedom. Just look at the detail in the Metal Build freedom vs the MG Freedom!
