  1. This is a regular release so it can be another 30 second pre order rush. 17000 yen is the same price as the Alto release. I would be interested if I don't have a yf-29 already.
  2. Did you rotate the lower leg full 90 degree first? The knee extent is locked when the lower leg is in fighter mode configuration.
  3. The two white dot on red part in the back are not even scratched - they are sprue cut point and was probably cut after the part was painted. I think one part that may scratch is the front tip of the battroid head - you can see the scratch in this review: http://gamu-toys.inf...x23/dx2302.html Be careful with the pins that hold the wings - they may pop off and then hide in some invisible corner of your room. Also when going back from B to G/F mode, make sure the moving panel at the back of the chest armor moved to the original direction, as in page 11 step 8 drawing 1. Otherwise something very hard to see will be blocking the cockpit and you will be trying to push it very hard.
  4. Best price I know of. http://www.angolz.com/store/macross-frontier-armor-plus-ex-gear-alto-saotome-ver.html
  5. I found that when you re-intall the pin, align it close to the original orientation and the wing will snap to it's proper resting direction.
  6. Lift the chest armor a bit and you can lower the cockpit and open it.
  7. I guess I prefer the 25 at the moment. I need to disassemble the chest of my reissue YF-29 to fix the sliding head base, because it was completely dead stuck on one side.
  8. It's "I'm a man" scene. And both still need the armor pack. I most say the box design of the DX renewal series is very nice - very consistent with the same mode on each side and look great no matter how you stack the box.
  9. Got my VF-171EX and YF-29 together from AE today, and didn't get taxed because AE marked them as only worth 3200 yen. Issues: 1) Fitting of the left shoulder armor is a little off right out of the box. In fighter mode it would push the wing out for a bit and don't sit flush with the chest armor. 2) Swivel joint in the upper right leg is rather loose. It only affects the gerwalk mode but not really bad since it's range is hard limited and the unit is not heavy. 3) B mode stand is rather bad. Is it blocking the wings in yours?
  10. Full set of pictures: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/release_115/index.html It seems the gerwalk mode is more likely to be imbalanced.
  11. Probably missed it because they are not shown in most reference line arts. A potential problem is they are so big that you can't use landing gear. Oh well there are always little thing that you may hope for that just don't happen, e.g. I was hoping for opening doors on the arm missile pack. May be someone will make some MDE with shapeways.
  12. Review with good photos: http://blog.livedoor.jp/hacchaka/archives/51829454.html
  13. WTF? You complain about HLJ now may need 2 separate login and payment, yet those 2 shops always require separate login and payment since forever?

    Macross figures

Last of the three Figuarts Zero is officially listed: http://tamashii.jp/item/item.php?eid=01803&pref=107 http://blog.yahoo.com/cybergundam/articles/653125/index October 2012, 4500 yen
  15. Did you notice AmiAmi has an extra 10x point offer on the main page? About the armor pack - extra wing is very nice and justify the slightly higher price vs VF-25 super packs. It looks like there are doors on the leg armor to allow the use of landing gear, but they sure like to hide it in the photos.
  16. Wait what this is not a joke? Wouldn't Big West own the general design of all VF anyway?
  17. Super Pack VF-25 were having reaction missiles under the wings in episode 17.
  18. It is the same guy that designed the 1:72 model. And even Yamato has similar issue with their VF-17 - the hands can hide in fighter mode but you still need to remove and store the hand covers somewhere in other modes.

    HI METAL LOVE THREAD

Noticed some good deals at Mandarake http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-516794.html http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-628280.html http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-725354.html
  20. Just want to correct the numbers. The current HLJ 20% off price is: 26,240 yen (US$ 326) v.s. 12,640 yen (US$ 157) The model shipping cost is a little higher due to extra parts hence heavier. I don't have much model skill and if I have the model I would be most worry about the big water slide.
  21. The problem is in most cases the CG is blocked by the belly mounted gun, surrounded by arm and leg part that you don't want to add plug holes. There are exceptions: Yamato 1:60 YF-21/VF-22 all has a flat belly fighter mode and the stand adapter is close to CG, and the big stand of YF-21 let you can put it at extreme angles safely. Bandai 1:100 Hi-metal VF-1 also has a stand adapter near CG. Although it is not very secure the unit is not heavy enough to cause problem, and you can show it at extreme angles too. For example: Bandai 1:100 Hi-metal VF-19S - now that is a failure since you can't put the gun in fighter mode.
  22. For December release, no price yet. It's only CG but I am surprised they can keep the wing mounted missiles in folded wing in B mode. The tricky part is the rear land gear on the legs will be covered by the armor. I would like to see how they handle that.
  23. Got a link for the announcement? Nice. AmiAmi cut off at the end of month and you may get screwed on shipping when those Bandai end-of-month release got slightly delayed. AnimeExport also hold your stuff until you tell them to ship, but I don't know if they stated any time limit.
  24. If you really want water slide decal for 1:60 you can order this set: http://www.ibuyxyz.com/items/toys/action-figures/macross~af-/decal_60vf1-detail.htm
  25. According to this you need some modification. http://gbmshop.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-equip-tornado-pack-ver1-on-vf.html
