  1. Nice. Looks like you had a fun build.
  2. I hold to my original comment. I pity you HWR...
  3. Wow...that's one of the saddest comments I've heard on these forums. So much for enjoying your hobby...
  4. Nice. What kit/toy is this modification for?

I dig the feather concept. It's refreshing to see someone tackle both the abstract and tangible aspects of Macross Zero in a new way. Fortitude, Rick
  6. I'm sure many of you already have ver. 1, but for those who don't, keep this in mind. I blame only myself for not scaling it myself before purchasing, but as many vender claim dimensions being nearly 12" in height in attack mode, the truth is it barely over 9" (not including stand). This may not be a deal breaker, but I was honestly a little surprised after unloading $150 smackers. It is a great sculpt though. As far as the new paint theme...damnit I like it!. But not $150 'like it'. Time to break out the paint!
  7. Indeed, and a good point Myk! And granted, a movie will never be all things to all people, nor should it. However, its sad to think that simplicity denotes, or justifies an audiences tollerance for poor storytelling.
  8. Sounds like a pathetic justification for dumbing down the "target" audience.
  9. You know, I've had a little time to cool off, and um...... My girlfriend and I have deduced, that if you find it necessary (on a saturday night...mind you we haven't seen alot of each other over the last month) to get up in the middle of a movie (and a hot plate of brownies) to vent our frustrations online to anyone who will listen them....that's just not right! If I were Spielberg, I'd ask for my money back.
  10. I didn't see the movie in the theaters, and against my better judgement I bought the DVD at Blockbuster about an hour and a half ago. I don't know what to say..... only that that was one of the worst movies I've ever seen! In fact I couldn't even finish it. The best part of what I saw was the exchange between Bernie Mac and his grandma giving him the bird (All 5 seconds of it at the beginning of the film). Look, the artists and craftspeople who brought the robots to life, did a great job...we all know that. But once again we've been spoonfed two hours of cliche dialogue, social stereotype, and mind-numbing predictability. You know, I grew up with transformers in the early 80's and was hoping for the best...sadly Michael Bay delivered yet another steaming pile of cinema.
  11. Great work, Mechtech, and an inspiring display of discipline and interpretation. Have you givin any though as to how and where you will display this creation? I for one would love to visit an air & space or naval museum and find your work there. At the Santa Monica Airport museam in California a 6 to 8 foot (not sure of exact dimensions) miniature of a Starship Trooper spacecraft sits not to far from a authentic full scale F-4 Corsair. Just puttin it out there.... Fortitude, Rick
  12. Thank you for the warm reception. Attached are some progress stills featuring rough framing and the initial surface application. Surface detailing, electrical, and paint postings will follow in the coming weeks. Fortitude, Rick Next project: Mar. 2008 * 1/72 scale SDF-1 command superstructure/bridge!
  13. Hello gang. I frequent this forum quite a bit but this is my first post. The attached image is an 'in-progress update' of an original creation based upon a series of paintings I've been working on featuring "parallel world" airships. This "airfreighter" is 1/12 scale and features only the back third of ship. This piece will act as the 'background' for a short film currently in the works. Unfortunately, I won't be able to build the first sixteen feet of the freighter, as the storyboards only call for the back end....blast! The dimensions are: 87" length 46" height 16" depth There is a lot of great work on this site and I look forward to your creations! Fortitude, Rick
