  1. Old news.
  2. It doesn't. It's carried in the hands the whole time.
  3. I have it on LD. An interesting thing about that release is that Software Scultors used the Japanese packaging for the discs with just an English language panel glued to the back. Another question... hmmm... In the anime Gantz, what song does Gantz sing before sending his 'victims' out on a mission?
  4. Castle of Cagliostro, and it was actually on episode three or four. I can't remember the exact order, but the episode it's from (Here Is Devilwood) is on the middle disc.
  5. Bah. Cameron didn't give me any of that (well, except the "game over man" thing which got really old really fast). It was in books long, long before Cameron ever got behind a camera.
  6. Jeopardy style! A first year highschool student finds himself here, a dorm full of weirdos and freaks after deciding to move away from home and sufferering a series of bad luck.
  7. I remember reading an old issue of Protoculture Addicts, which had an article on Star Blazers fandom. It mentioned that a group of fans produced a music video mixing the Beatles' song with the series' most violent battles. Next question: Which anime is about a 27-year-old high school teacher who still lives with her parents and is constantly ridiculed by her class because of her short height? Sensei no Ojikan
  8. Uchuu Senkan Yamato + "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles. Correct. Take it away, A7.
  9. What's the point? Did they make this to try and prove something? As a game, it sounds incredibly boring. As a political statement, it's rather weak. I think lame is a better descriptor than inapropriate. I do agree with A1 that in terms of free speech, the game makers are within their rights. I just don't get what the game's for.
  10. What song and anime were used to make the first known fan-made anime music video?
  11. I'm guessing the chances of these showing up in the Omaha area are slim to none.
  12. An enteresting thing I noticed about the anime is that they're keeping a lot of the dialog from the movie, but the context around the dialog has changed. For instance, the cyborg gives Mifune's character's speach on peasants almost word for word, near as I can tell. But, since they changed the events that lead up to that speach, it loses a lot of its meaning, and in fact doesn't make any sense at points.
  13. Since this is already non-anime, I'm going to bring this slightly more off topic. I've always like this. Its my last name. Its not an ego thing... seriously. I just thought it looked cool. Since when is Area 88 non-anime?
  14. I agree with Max here. Also I've found that they fall apart really easily. McFarlane toys are more like semi-articulate statues that were made for static displays only.
  15. Oh, and add the Galactic Reich from Legend of the Galactic Heroes
  16. i am not to familiar with the ghost in the shell series (bits and peices), what is the word starting with the letter D that is half covered up? Deaf-mutes
  17. The Aim for the Top! emblem is cool. Although I'm not a huge Eva fan, the NERV symbol is also pretty nifty.
  18. What's it called? Submarine Super 99
  19. Yojinbo was itself taken from a pulp noir novel called Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett. As to whether the character from the three films in question is the same person, I think the yes/no answer is best. Oh, and can someone tell me if the 2 disc set of GB&U is worth getting? Other great westerns: Once Upon a Time in the West. Another Leone film. I picked up the 2 disc set for it a while back really cheap and I'm very happy with it. The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance. Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne in one movie, how can you go wrong? A great story just makes it all the better. The Searchers. A beautiful, yet dark film. Amazing performance by Wayne. High Noon. Awesome story that turned the genre on its ear. I think you can trace stuff like Leone's films directly back to this one. John Ford's Fort Apache trilogy: Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Rio Grande. Wonderful character studies and further proof against those who like to stereotype Wayne. Blazing Saddles. It's funny.
  20. I appreciated it. I don't read the transformers thread.
  21. Another good Submarine series, or at least the first episode was good anyway, is the recent Matsumoto one. I wish I could get more episodes of it.
  22. Yep. Graham Cool. Accessory packs make me want to get one of these all the more. I hope they will do one with some different weapons as well.
  23. Wow. Those look pretty sweet. How much do they generally go for?
