The Official "Uwe Boll's Dungeon Siege" thread

They make money. They may not be blockbusters, but he doesn't spend a lot of money on them either, so they net a profit. Studios like that I guess. -
The Official "Uwe Boll's Dungeon Siege" thread
JELEINEN replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, Dugeon Siege the game had no plot, so he can't make it too much worse. -
This one is on topic, actually.
-
Damn. That's depressing.

Wasn't Toyspress Nagano's own company? 311938[/snapback] It is/was. I wonder if cobywan can provide a source for his info.
-
Nagano definitely didn't like the movie. Apparently some people were expecting icecicles to start growing in Hell when they anounced a DVD release of it. The film follows the first book fairly accurately, but for me anyway, it lacked any sort of soul. It was just kind of blah. I really need to plug the holes in my manga collection sometime. The local comic book shop always got confused by the multiple issues having the same covers and so I wouldn't always get all of them held for me.

Because it's the cool thing to do. Personally, a POS transformer is the last thing I'd want a Valk to be like.

You can really tell in the colored ones that this is a mock-up rather than a real proto-type.

There's also the fact that Animeigo, as a company, has never been big on dubbing anyway. In fact, they freely admit that some of their past attempts have resulted in some of the worst dubs ever made. Animeigo's subs first policy is one thing that always set them apart ("The best movies you'll ever read.").
-
Yeah. I don't quite parse Orguss' post.
-
Well, if we're lucky they'll keep Animeigo's subtitles, otherwise we'll get the usual half-assed hack work that ADV normally does.
-
I seem to recall the same thing. Something about Robotech already being the English dub.
-
Now I'll have to get a Legioss. Any word on the Mospeada branded ones?

Ghost Rider movie thread
JELEINEN replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well he is a flaming... -
I knew we had a thread about the NEW series... I said that already. this was ment to be a general thread about all things Doctor Who... Wether it's con apperances... DVD releases, toy releases... whatever it is... I thought I made that clear I know there was a thread specific to the new series. This was supposed to be inline with what we have with the Tranformers Superthread. Ah. Well, I think the super threads are a lame idea to begin with anyway.

Actually, we already had a thread talking about the new series (Search is your friend). That said, I love the new series. At this point, Ecclaston is easily my favorite Doctor. I'm curious to see how this new guy does, but six months is a long time from now. Bleh.

The Official Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread
JELEINEN replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I can't begin to tell you how GREAT this series was. But I'm still a bit of a n00b so hopefully this question (about the ending) won't seem too weird. We're told in the second episode that 1 minute (during warp) = 3 months on Earth. How is it that so much time has passed on Earth (almost 12,000 years)? I thought that the Gunbuster was too heavily damaged to go into warp. How can all this time pass if they've just been drifting in space? Shouldn't normal time be taken into account? So much time passes because it can't warp. It's traveling at close to the speed of light, but still sub-light. Relativity makes it so very little time passes for our two heroines, but many years go by back home. -

Looks like the Pendragon version got released direct to video. I saw it at Wal Mart the other night for less than $9.00, which isn't a good sign for a new release. The reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...?v=glance&s=dvd seem to back that up. Bleh. And I was looking forward to this one. -
Interestingly enough, I saw a lot of comparisons of Sen to Chihiro to Baba Yaga.
-
The movie made them out to be nearly peaple smart.

Yeah, poachers use Ak-47's and the like all the time. The idea is to just put a lot of bullets into them really fast, rather than rellying on one big bullet.
-
I have that one, too. How can you tell? Are all of them with that design bootlegs? I believe almost all wall scrolls are bootlegs. It's my understanding that they're not normally something made in Japan.
-
Yeah which doesn't make my point wrong at all. Just because it was coined as a negative phrase intially doesn't mean that the term covers 99% of media SF. It's totally subjective and dependant on the shows materials. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Space+Opera http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Science%20Fiction Just as the Science Fantasy term covers alot of material that has both fantasy & sf leanings. Phase Doubt, the Amber series, the vampire hunter & fairy detective novels by Hamilton, and Grunts by Mary Gentle are examples of such. Considering that they didn't even get the etymology of the word right, I think it's safe to say that we can ignore dictionary.com's imput on the matter. Anyway, I digress. We've really derailed the thread. Please continue to talk about Banner/Crest of the Stars.
