  1. Nice. I just finished building the Mobile Suite last night. I need to add stickers/decals to his legs and build the weapons. Overall, it's a "typical" SEED design - layers of complication on one another. I think I'll aim to build the Nu Gundam sometime in the next few months... Pete
  2. Robotech is in the article - just look at the very bottom. Shadow Chronicles and all. That said - I think the thread can stay as long as we talk about the Inbit from Genesis Climber Mospedea. Pete
  3. My review of the VF-25S Ozma custom in 1:72 scale. Built this a looong time ago, but never got around to properly reviewing it... http://dyrl.pl/detale.html?id=998 Pete
  4. Ok - so...one month and one week later... Episode 26, reviewed! Deathmatch on Planet Lux: http://dyrl.pl/detale.html?id=962 Pete
  5. I like the cat-dress; although I still say Mikuru's legs are way too long. She's not Angelina Jolie. She's got shorter, firmer legs. Or at the very least - a much bigger butt :-) As for the school uniform... I dunno. It's too baggy - a couple sizes too big. Although I guess getting the right size clothes for dolls is hard :-) Pete (fellow Mikuru fan - albeit Figma dedicated)
  6. Well... I have to say you're misunderstanding... First of all - I kind of understand where you're coming from. Sometimes a toy inspires us with an awesome vision of a character; and it sucks when it turns out that the "official" version of the character in the cartoon/anime/comic or whatever is shallow and generally sucks. But in the case of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - this isn't a risk. The official story is compatible with ANY fan vision, alternative universe, or even with other anime. Case in point is my Haruhi Suzumiya Fanfiction which I invite everybody to check out. It's a Multiverse epic saga with elements from plenty of other anime like Gundam and Macross: http://dyrl.pl/kategorie.html?cat_id=106 Mikuru-Asahina even gets a promotion in my vision! The reason this is possible is because it is explicitly stated in the show that the world we see in season 1 and 2 are figmants of Haruhi's god-like imagination. She has the power to alter worlds and traverse the dimmensions; as do her undlings, like Yuki (Dissappearance being a case in point). So - if there's something about "official" Mikuru which you don't like - then there's nothing in the cannon that says your vision of her character is "wrong." I highly recommend you give the show a chance - then in the worse case write up a fanfiction with "alternate" Mikuru killing the "official version" - which, maybe, was a clone created by Koizumi's Agency to infiltrate the Time Traveling agency?... or something like that
  7. The HG Kishatshika (sp?) and Geara Douga almost got me into building HG on a larger scale, but ultimately I decided to focus on MG. I had built the initial HG Exia and a few of the other OO Gundams, but compared to MGs, they were not really that fun... and I don't really like the 1/144 scale.... Although I guess it depends on what you enjoy. I don't have them - but maybe one day I think I'd like to check out the new Gundam Wing stuff coming out in MG scale... the EW Deathscythe looks especially tantalizing... But for now...I'm building the Red Frame Astray and focusing on it :-) One at a time... Pete
  8. I also liked the first one; mainly because it was pretty much on par with the cartoon. It had a great flow. The thing is a fantasy, so you just have to roll with it and not take it TOO seriously. My one gripe with the movie was Cobra Commander's retarded wierd looking mask at the end. Hopefully in part 2, Cobra Commander will look more like his good old self. And I am SURE Storm Shadow is NOT dead! He was the BEST in that movie!! Pete
  9. Well...as soon as I get dressed, I'll go down to my storage space and pull out the 1J to fiddle with it. The best I could come up with was just a bit of scotch tape looped around itself so it's universally sticky 360 degrees around. Place that between the battroid back and the backpack and hey-presto - locks in place. I treat the scotch tape as just another of the "swappable" parts I'd be scared of using super glue on it... Pete
  10. Galvatron would be kind of way too easy to do. Then again, it would make perfect sense, since Rodimus needs an antagonist. Technically, Grimlock already has an antagonist - the Seekers. He likes chewing on their wings :-) Pete
  11. I remember that avatar. Um..and Mr. March -I love what you've done with your website!! I went ahead and put a link to it on my webpage. Outstanding :-) Pete
  12. Ooops. Sorry - I meant to just quote one image - the one with the RG RX-78-2 in it. Went back and edited the post so now there's just that image quoted :-) Pete
  13. My VF-1J's backpack is floppy like an old v.1 Yammie. Am I transforming it wrong? And how do they "fix" this on the VF-1S so that the backpack remains upright? Pete
  14. The RG Char looks great - but I have to admit that the RG RX-78-2 looks too "real" - that is...not anime accurate enough. I love my version 2.0 MG because it looks just like the Gundam in the original MSG anime - for better or for worse :-) Pete
  15. This is very true. The longer I work out regularly, the more I try to stay away from eating, because as soon as you eat too much, you feel it - and it makes you feel lethargic rather than energetic. Plus, at the gym, you have to waste more time burning it off rather than sculpting muscles. Speaking of which - I hate OVER COMPLICATED TRAINING BIKES!!! Although in the end, I do learn how to use them, but still, at times I feel like Bill Murray on that treadmill in Lost in Translation :-) Pete
  16. I have 4 out of 5 stars, so I guess people love me too :-) Pete
  17. Thanks for the links to Dalong. It's just such a crazy design...the behemouth sword/bow-and-arrow...I dunno...I guess it makes sense in space... I also don't really know if I like the chicken-leg design...although it is agile... I dunno...we'll see...still haven't made up my mind. It is impressive...but just a tad bit too "super robot" - which essentially isn't a problem on principle, since I like super robots...but I expect realism from Gundams...and this guy is just a bit too "out there"..but...I dunno... Oh - and I kind of get the impression that - speaking in TF lingo - this Gundam has too much kibble. Pete
  18. I like Gubaba and Agent One best! Kieth is wise and cool too. Seto, Jasonc, RusskieAussie...lots of great people here... Pete
  19. This is a really great website! I'm very happy to have found it and be a member. I want to thank all the Macross and anime fans who I've learned so much from! You guys opened up a whole new world for me and it's been a great ride! -pete
  20. My review of Dissapearance is online; sadly I'm having trouble uploading screencaps - need to talk to my IT guys and hopefully will get around to it ...next Sunday..because I totally won't have time tomorrow - although they need to fix the glitch that makes it so I can't load screencaps (more than one)... But the review is up! Enjoy: http://dyrl.pl/detale.html?id=996 Pete
  21. I just watched the camrip and am working on my review. Overall I am obviously very pleased with it, although it wasn't at all that unexpected. Pete
  22. The website is back up and running! :-) Pete
  23. Thanks for the heads up. Called my hosting company and they're working to resolve it. This is the second time I've been hacked :-) Pete
  24. I was browsing this thread last night with my [new]girlfriend nearby, and was pleased to see the last few pictures of Fokker's Hi-Metal VF-1S. She took a quick glance and proclaims "those photos look like they were taken by amateurs!" :-) I tried to explain to her they they WERE taken by amateurs - that we like taking pictures of our collections. She says "why" I say "for the same reason I like taking pictures of you sweetheart" :-) Anyways - nice pics guys!! :-) Pete
