  1. A couple of questions: 1. Does the GBP chest armor just very lightly snap on or am I missing something? It stays in place, but if I try to open the missile bays the whole armor section falls off. Likewise if I so much as brush against it too hard while handling the toy it will fall right off. 2. The three 'canisters' on each hip...are they supposed to be removable or did Arcadia just glue some of mine but not others? One comes off if I pull a bit, one falls off if I bump it, the others don't budge.
  2. I don't know what it was, I just said it looked like dried blood. Brownish red smear. I doubt it was overspray since there is no paint that color on the toy, and it wiped off more readily than paint would. Whatever it was, it came off.
  3. It doesn't look anywhere near as yellow at home as it did at work under the long fluorescent tube lights. In the photo it's hardly noticeable at all. But the top cluster is 'yellowed' while the bottom one is bright white. I also had to remove a 1cm sized spot of what appeared to be dried blood on one of the 1J's legs. Fun times.
  4. I'm just lucky that it doesn't bug me much because I got it from AmiAmi so there'd be no possibility of an exchange. I'll just pretend the yellow ones are the dirty bombs.
  5. Got mine today. Does anyone else have yellowed missile clusters on their GBP? On one of the leg units the top cluster is totally yellowed as if it were really old PVC, while the bottom cluster is fine. On another part there is one or two individual missiles that are yellowed while the rest are white. I'm not anal enough for it to really bother me, but I do find it really curious that brand new plastic would already be yellowed. Is it possible they used some leftover parts from the Yamato run? I'll post a photo later.
  6. I have done that, several times. To me there's no difference to between opening a sealed G1 toy that cost $200 and opening a $200 Macross toy that just came out. I don't buy stuff because of rarity or perceived value, I buy it because I want to put my hands all over it.
  7. here are some photos of the pre-assembled 1S I had. Same 'pink' hue. One is even a comparison photo someone requested back then because of the pink hue. This is a shot of the 1J kit as I was building it, under a different light but you can still see a 'pink' hue. And Jenius, that monster in my avatar is not white. It's clearly brown. A rich, dark, chocolaty brown.
  8. Yes, really. I had the VF-1S pre-assembled kit and I have the VF-1J that I assembled. Both are exactly the same as the recent Arcadias. People even made the same "it looks pink" comments when I posted photos of them years ago. Again, they don't look pink in person, but in photos under certain lighting it comes through.
  9. Do mean wish they had NOT used the same shade? Because those have a pinkish hue also...
  10. Or the answer would be lost in the google translation, furthering the confusion: "Oh no! Is pink? I lie, is a pink!" with a follow up tweet of: "(I kid, pink is a color)"
  11. I would open Metroplex for sure, especially since he's sealed. Being sealed means there is a very high quality toy inside just waiting to be enjoyed! I'd put the stickers on too.
  12. I don’t see it as a “discoloration” though – that would be something like yellowing, something that happens by accident or unintentionally. It’s obviously intentional since they’ve been using it regularly across several different releases (as did Yamato), so logically speaking there is probably a very good reason for it (such as a UV stabilizer which helps protect plastic). And it actually is a pure white when seen by the naked eye. I mean, I’m not the only one saying it doesn’t look pink in person so it’s not just my eyes. I just wish Arcadia would address it and let us know what's up. Has anyone ever asked Mr. K on Twitster?
  13. Yes, that's what I was saying - that the kit is 'pinker' than the other Yamato valks, just like the recent Arcadia valks are. The plastic feels exactly the same between all of them. Perhaps around the time of the kits they started adding a UV stabilizer that changes the hue. In any case it's a hue I only notice in some photos and can't see at all in person so it's never bothered me.
  14. What makes you say it's cheaper? It's the same exact plastic Yamato themselves used in the kit versions (including the pre-assembled ones). I just don't see how a slightly different tint suggests inferior quality.
  15. "Here's your white Valkyrie, would you like it in yellow or pink?"
  16. Yep, got my AmiAmi shipping notice. This is the longest they've ever sat on an order of mine. Typically when I pay for an order on Friday/Saturday I would have it by Wednesday. Maybe they're short staffed due to some national celebration. Is it Japanese Shark Week? I'll just say it's Japanese Shark Week.
  17. Well AmiAmi sure is taking their sweet time sending this out.
  18. I may be the only one among the legion of TF fans the say it, but what really turns me off of the new Devy is the size. I'd prefer it to be much smaller, the same size as the other CW combiners. I'm glad plenty of people are happy with it so far though. I'm sure that, like Metroplex, it will sell swiftly and probably sell for double the price a year later. Got my replacement Slingshot today from Amazon. It's not without it's problems, but loose joints and a couple paint chips are better than the bent tail fin and blackened canopy of my previous one so I'll just be content with it. I'm happy to have Superion finished now, even though I am constantly eyeing the Takara version because I like the colors and paint apps better. Grrr... I also got a Minimus Ambus today from a TFW forum member who didn't want it. Aside from being cool because it's IDW Minimus, the diminuitive size makes me long for some modern Micromasters. It's exactly the same size and transforms in the same way, but with better joints. Anyway, now I can pass on Hasbro's Magnus and get Takara's.
  19. Curious that they all seem to have such strong negative reactions to the original one because it looks older. I didn't really judge cartoons based on age when I was a kid. I loved new stuff but I also had favorites that were much older like Flintstones, Peabody & Sherman, Underdog, etc. I just liked cartoons, and even super old black & white TV shows. I guess I was an oddball. Still am.
  20. Hopefully it'll be soon. I'm thinking BBTS will get more in stock at some point too. Not just you, he's more of a creamy white. I think the Takara version matches the colors better.
  21. You can see it in the photos in the link joppewo posted. Actually, you can see on the very same photo you posted, though it is easy to miss.
  22. Rook is my favorite limb so far (sorry, really not trying to rub it in!). I've had crap luck finding anything in the stores. Wave one, yes, they're everywhere, but that's it. The only deluxe I've found past wave 1 is Breakdown, and that one had been opened and returned (I bought it anyway because it didn't look like anything was wrong with it, and there wasn't.) Rook I preordered on BBTS a while back because there was just something about him that made me want him right away. I wasn't disappointed. He's a nice solid limb, very poseable with ankle tilt, has a really unique head sculpt (although the Autobot logo on his head is something I could do without) and his alt mode is solid and really fun to load out with weapons. The gun fists are kind of funky and I both like and dislike them. They allow you to give him "Hulk hands" with combiner hands, but they prevent him from holding any weapons. While I appreciate the novelty I think given the choice I would prefer regular hands with 5mm holes. Oh, and he can be plugged into combiners' feet and used as Dairugger-style robo-skates (not my photo). My fantasy is to build a combiner with all Rook limbs and Rook skates, meaning I'd need 5 more. I'm not confident I'll ever find 5 more of him.
  23. I've personally only ever had good experiences (fast shipping, reasonable communication) but I try not to use them often because I've heard they offer no help if you get something broken or damaged.
