so you're saying I shouldn't buy the $400 VF-0D that's on eBay right now?
-
maybe I also want a VF-0D; got one? Can Arcadia just reissue the OD already, or put the CF-0A up for sale? *me right now, wanting more VF-0's*

I REFUSE TO LOOSE THIS PATIENT! Frankly, even with a leg that falls off, it's still more fun as a toy than several other valks I own. *cough*VF-27*cough*frakkthatmess*cough* sorry, I should really get that cough looked at.

Glue failed, legs stay attached but hips are now very loose. I'm thinking I need a stronger/less brittle adhesive. I'm gonna try again with a two part epoxy instead of superglue. worst case scenario is I get a ghost booster for this one and leave it in fighter mode. The 0S remains the best, most playable version. :edit: I've also bee thinking about a plan C/"desperation move; do not try this at home kids" that involves drilling a small whole through the plastic nub into the metal stem, tapping the whole thing, joining the two parts with a small screw than grinding down the screw head so that everything fits properly.

hmm... I think I'm going to need to come up with a more effective solution to the hip joint problem on this thing.
-
Technically the VF-25's going back to the v1 ugly monkeysTM have a swivel joint in the waist area, although they are completely useless in the v1's and on the renewals they're more for torso tilt than they are for turning side to side. The YF-30 does have the distinction of being the first Valk toy to have a waist swivel while in GERWALK mode.

The YF-21/VF-22 mold from Yamato had a waist swivel. the 1/60 v1 VF-1's did as well.

the antenna gets in the way of the gunpod and the backpack sticks out at an angle if you leave it on. you can take the antenna off completely, but I'm not sure about the radome. anyways, I don't hate the VF-171, but I seriously question the mental stability of whoever designed it.

I totally missed this for a couple days; SM's baby girls just had a comeback. Not what I would expect from a red velvet single, but I kind of like it. great video BTW.

quick question. I know shin's 0A didn't actually have any tail markings in the ova, but I'm trying to decide what would look better; the skull marking (since he was Roy's wingman in the end) or the bunny head?
-
yeah, that's just weird I love the ghost booster in fighter/gerwalk, but I've always thought it looked kind of dumb in battroid mode.

they really want to emphasis that THIS... IS... THE 80'S!

The heat shield pins were super easy. I just ground them down flush with the flat side of a half round needle file; no disassembly or anything. the leg was fixed with the factory original ball nub. I sanded, cut, and melted the side of the nub that mates with the metal stem until the parts fit perfectly flush, then glued it together and let it dry for a few hours. once the glue was set, I sanded the ball smooth to get rid of any excess glue so that the exterior was completely smooth and even. I also cleaned out the interior of the ball socket with a wire brush.

I used some polishing compound which minimized a lot of the scratching but there are a couple deep gouges that I'm not sure what to do with. if only they made crystal clear filler putty. still it doesn't look that bad and it's not going to get any worse now.
-
well, it took several hours, lots of sanding and scraping, and at one point involved fire.

hehe, This is the 0A I bought off SuperHobo. It showed up in the mail today and went strait into surgery. Also fixed the heat shield pins and other cosmetic flaws. Tomorrow, Decals. as an aside, Avatar is Hani from EXID, TaeTae may be my spirit animal but nobody does a derp face quite like Hani-Oppa.

No, I think you just might be coming down with something. I'd recommend ordering now and calling your doctor in the morning.
-
Doctor, The joint appears to have accepted the graft. we should be able to begin limb reattachment shortly.

the Maruyama is the coolest set, and yet I could never justify buying something that's basically identical to the alto I already have accept for the cool tampograph on the back.

never trust ebay. http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=116&do=detail&id=103000006158 http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1039989508 funny is that the most expensive one is the EX cannon fodder with the giant Sheryl decal that I completely forgot existed. http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=1435959
