  2. WWell they already showed off the awesome LED's for the rail gun. maybe there will be more. But yeah, ThreeA does not disappoint. ever
  3. BTW, they put this on their blog back in May.
  4. IT LIVES!!! 3A toys' obscenely large metal gear Rex is in fact still happening. New pictures of the updated prototype (sans legs) were cerculated in their latest 3Avox news letter with the following information: So, if you're interested (and you should be) hit up 3A's production blog and official legion forum for more information. http://www.threeaonline.com/blog/ http://www.threeaonline.com/forum/ and for those of you who don't know or forgot about how big this sucker is, here's the original prototype.

  7. I find it really odd how people can buy these things and then transform them only a couple times. Every time I get a new Macross toy I end up transforming it a half dozen times or more the first DAY I have it in hand. For the first month or two I have a new figure I transform it at least once a day or more. It's only after I've had it for a while and starts to feel less like the new toy and more like part of my whole collection that it starts getting messed with less and ends up spending more time on the shelf. Stuff that I've had for a while (which is just about all of my macross Toys at this point, I haven't picked up any new VF's in a while ) only get transformed once ever couple months when I decide to reorganize stuff.
  8. I can imagine what it would look like, but I still want to see pics.
  9. On Sentinel it's the joints in the legs more than anything else. I tried pulling the batteries and he still nose-dived at every opertunity. I finally got fed up and took the feet completely apart to stiffen the joints. I added nail polish and tightened the screws on the toe joints and packed in some paper behind the spring in the ankle ratchet. the result is that the toe now actually supports weight and the ankle stays on the ratchet you set it. Now he'll actually stand up on his own in a neutral stance. As for Megatron, the problem is that the bottom of the feet aren't flat. The sculpted detail from truck mode and the placement of the toe coupled with the lack of an ankle tilt means that very little of the actual foot is in contact with the ground when you put him in any kind of spread legged poses.
  10. I'd just like to reiterate, The VF-19ACTIVE is the sexiest thing since sex.
  11. I've got a feeling we'll see Ray's VF-17T custom get made. all that changes between it and the VF-17S/D is the head and the forward fuselage for the longer nose that doesn't seem like much more new tooling than the difference between the VF-19kai and the VF-19S/F. and all that have to do is change the head to make the Ray's nightmare custom into a Regular VF-17T training craft. and frankly I would love to see a VF-17T and as for transforming Macross toys for the first time; I always do it the proper way. I blindly manhandle the toy without any kind of instructions until it ends up in the mode I want.
  12. the "toy" on the back of the box isn't metal, it's typically a resin prototype hand painted and then gone over with a ridiculous number of Photoshop filters. Anyways, I love transformers. Transformers are some of the best toys on US retail shelves, especially for their price points. And TBH, I find Transformers engineering to be more interesting and engaging than most Macross products. Valkyrie's from Bandai or Yamato are certainly more intricately designed and detailed, but I frankly find more novelty and entrainment in the mechanics of a $20 voyager than a $200 YF-21. That's not to say I don't love Macross toys either; My VF's are among my favorite collectables. But I love them because they've amazing to look at and have on a shelf where you can admire all the little details of their design. Transformers on the other hand are something I can sit on the couch and casually play with. So yeah, two completely different things that I enjoy for completely different reasons, and I they stay that way for as long as I'm into collecting.
  13. Actually, I can get sentinel's arms a to swing around to the front part way, but the black panels get in the way of his shoulder rotation and if I try to move the arms far enough forward to get full arm articulation, it feels like I'm bending parts in way's that they really shouldn't be bent. but all you really need to do is stick a couple large mechtech weapons on his arms (voyager weapons or human alliance basics) and you've got a decent approximation of ED-209 Metal Gear Rex if he was a big red firetruck. The funny thing about Sentinel Prime and Megatron is that they're both way more stable standing up like this than they are in robot mode. :edit: I Love mechtech and clip point weapons, I seriously do. mech warrior by Mike Ringot, on Flickr
  14. that's how it's supposed to be. The MAXL is only 11.24m vs the VF-19's 15.48m. She's a tiny robot.
  15. I need a toy version of this SO BAD. come on Yamato, you know you want to.
  16. If you try hard enough, EVERY modern transformer has a Gerwalk mode. :edit: that's not to say they're good, but they are there. truckwalk mode... by Mike Ringot, on Flickr BTW, this is my new favorite mode for Sentinel Prime
  17. I carry my 17" with me to class each day and it's not bad. I've got individual text books that are heavier.
  18. and 22,000JPY = 287.87USD. I see no problem here.
  19. :edit: Forget it, I'm done. I'm not even going to dignify this with a legitimate response anymore.
  20. It's funny because at this point I'm caught up on all the late wave generations toys I wanted, and now that I'm trying to find the last few DotM toys I'd actually like to get (skyhammer, cyberfire bumblebee and hatchet), All I'm finding at target and TrU are wave 1 shelf-warmers and piles of wheeljack's and warpath's.
  21. I have a feeling we're talking about two completely different things at this point.
