So um... is it December yet? I really want to find see how they're going to release the other mini-cassettes. I'm hoping for Frenzy/Ravage and Rumble/Buzzsaw two packs with Ratbat included with Soundblaster. :edit: And maybe an e-hobby 4 pack with Glit, Sundor, Wingthing and Enemy.- 17734 replies

I'm more excited by a modern G1 Soundwave than a VF-25 toy, and I like the VF-25. Also, it's a lot easier to actually get this Soundwave for $160. :edit: apparently he'll be this big if he's sized to fit G1 mini-cassettes- 17734 replies

BSG was a good show (excluding the first half of season 3) but I've never had any interest in watching it more than once. SG-1 is a show I can watch any time again and again. And while I really love SG-1, I think Atlantis is my favorite. :edit: And SG:U is just awful all around. The more or less took everything that was good about SG-1 and Atlantis, got rid of it, and replaced it with everything that was wrong with BSG with none of what made that work.

I completely passed on the original VF-25 toys dispite being super in to Frontier at the time. I just could tell they were crap even when they first came out and didn't buy. I just want this VF-25G because I passed up on the YF-29 and VF-25F/S releases despite having plenty of opportunity to grab them because I only wanted one VF-25 toy and I wanted the VF-25G the most.

I don't remember the specific revoltech throwing incident you're talking about, but I know Graham has mentioned that he threw all of his revoltech's in the trash at one point. Eugimon is talking about a completely different person who threw his $200 toy at a wall in a comedic fit of rage.

I just got the fallowing from bbts: So, that kind of sucks that they raised the price $20 but It's still 20% under Japanese retail and shipping from BBTS will still be around $10.- 17734 replies

well if it really was all the cassettes, as in every mold and every repaint I'd have absolutely no problem dropping that much for all of them in one box.- 17734 replies

The YF-19 from 2006 was a severely flawed toy with multiple known issues, the least of which was a crooked gun. The VF-19's from 2011 are works of art in plastic and diecast.

Escape velocity is sometimes misunderstood to be the speed a powered vehicle, such as a rocket, must reach to leave orbit and travel through outer space. The quoted escape velocity is commonly the escape velocity at a planet's surface, but it actually decreases with altitude. It is the speed above which an object will depart on a ballistic trajectory, i.e. in free-fall, and never fall back to the surface nor assume a closed orbit. Such an object is said to "escape" the gravity of the planet. A vehicle with a propulsion system can continue to gain energy and travel away from the planet, in any direction, at a speed lower than escape velocity so long as it is under propulsion. If the vehicle's speed is below its current escape velocity and the propulsion is removed, the vehicle will assume a closed orbit or fall back to the surface. If its speed is at or above the escape velocity and the propulsion is removed, it has enough kinetic energy to "escape" and will neither orbit nor fall back to the surface. So in other words, If I have an rocket with an unlimited amount of fuel, I can just ride it up and up and up as slow as I want to until I'm far enough away from earth that escape velocity equals zero at which point I can shut off my magical rocket motor and drift merrily off into space. -

I really love ThreeA stuff. They're not as intricit and ultra detailed as Hot toys products, but they're more affordable and have a lot more character. I just got these two from threeA last Thursday. I didn't really get that with any of the characters. People in the Science field run the gamut of personality types, Some of them can be pretty eccentric and a little out there. Sometimes people have grating personalities and huge egos, that's just the way people are. The crew was diverse, and for the most part acted in a consistent manner throughout the film. As for the captain, I liked him. -
Personally I find the YF-29 is at it's best in Battroid mode. I actually like the large backpack wings, and I find that the battroid manages to conceal, eliminate or re-purpose a lot of the specific elements of the design that I feel hurt the appearance in fighter/gerwalk mode. I do like the Fighter mode overall and think it's very cool in shape and concept, but many of the details that go into it just don't work for me. things like the black stripes, the leg alinement, the tiny canards and the bulkiness in the back end because of the all the added weapons all detract from the whole package.

A Lobo movie? seriously? I actually like the character but there's no way he'd ever work in a movie.

I just got back from seeing it (1:30 show), and this just about sums up how I felt about the movie. I had a really good time watching it and I think it was an overall good film, but I feel like there where just too many really big, important plot threads that where left completely unaddressed by the end of the film. My first thought after leaving the theater was that if the film gets a good sequel that develops the background introduced in this film, I'll like it a lot more. If they just leave it as one film or end up producing a sequel that adds nothing to developing the bigger picture, then it'll really sour my long term opinion of Prometheus. :edit: and if we're going to get on the subject of parts that didn't make sense: -
