  1. Thanks for the info, makes feel a little better about this situation. Yeah, HKC could have at least sent me the DYRL cannon fodder version instead. Even if they give me Hayao for free, which seriously doubt, I have no desire to keep it in my collection. I've been having a very difficult time with sellers when it comes to Yamato 1/60 Valkyries; either saying the item is out of stock after the order has been placed/paid or them not sending the item at all and having to wait weeks to get my money back. Very frustrating.
  2. Speaking of Kakizaki...I amd so pissed off with HK Collectibles right now I placed an order for a Yamato 1/60 VF-1A Mass Production TV Version and paid USD: $118.12 ($93.90 + $24.22 S/H) for this item. I received my package today and was sent the wrong item, a 1/60 VF-1A Hayao Kakizaki (TV Version). This item is much less in price at USD $79.10. I wanted the item I ordered, not this lame Kakizaki version and now it appears the regular cannon fodder is now out of stock. Anybody else have this happen with HKC? How do they usually fix a major screw-up like this?
  3. Thanks, yes...that is a dilemma I'm facing, but I have a few solutions already worked out. I'm still saving funds to dedicate towards that VF-1D I want while trying to budget for other Macross goodness.
  4. I got my VF-171 from NY yesterday. It some of the minor scratches others had mentioned, but it was 100% complete. It's my first Macross Frontier toy and I have to say that while the transformation is overly complex and the battroid mode isn't all that solid, it's still a very impressive thing of beauty. I really love the color scheme and the tampo-printed markings really make it pop. I have a pre-order for the VF-25F and VF-27 and cant wait to expand my Macross Frontier collection. The VF-171 cannon Fodder really stands out. BTW, I use an old cigarette pack case from a convenience store that my friend to gave me to display my stuff. It has a plexi-glass front that is uv-coated and has a lock to keep my collection safe. Ain't the prettiest thing, but it does the job well.
  5. Just keep in mind that the canopy is not meant to open until the cockpit is elevated first. To elevate the cockpit, there is a small notch behind the back of the canopy. I used the small pointy-tip of tweezers to pop it up and then elevated the cockpit all the way and then opened the canopy. I always put the pilot in first before the first transformation.
  6. Nice attention to detail, excellent work, beautiful pics!
  7. I swear, Lucifer was making me go bi-polar...I was so excited just before 3 AM, then really disappointed for almost an hour and then super excited when I refreshed my HLJ search window and saw it finally up, and then biting my nails when I couldn't remember my HLJ password and had to get it re-sent to me, and then beyond happy when I checked out and got my confirmation e-mail. HLJ really made all the effort and perseverance worth it. Domo arigato!
  8. Just placed my order with NY for 1, glad they had some extras available. Order using EMS so I hope it won't take too long to get here.
  9. This auction for the VF-1J mass-production type, not the standard VF-1A offered at HKC
  10. Well, I s'pose the panic has called me to take action. I've been a fan of Macross toys ever since my dad brought me back my first Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J (Hikaru Ichijo Type) from a TDY assignment in Japan, when I was around 6 or 7. I started collecting again with Yamato's first offering of the 1/72 YF-19, in which the infamous tab-B broke, but I still liked that this new company was producing Macross toys again and I was determined to support them. From that time, I bought the rest of the Macross Plus toys, a few of the 1/60 v.1 toys, and I still remember being super-excited but always finding that toys lacked that solid feel of the 1/55s and always seemed to be plagued by durability/design flaws. I also remember getting my first Yamato 1/48 VF-1A and feeling that it was about as close to Macross perfection I could lay my hands on, but still found that they were a bit too floppy and parts/accessories didn't stay attached too well. I got a 1/60 YF-19 and VF-0S that had the arms explode a short time later. I would keep tabs on the newer stuff and heard there were problems with shoulders of the 1/60 v.2 toys and decided to just stick with my Takatoku 1/55's. I did keep my 1/60 VF-0A and 1/48 VF-1A with TV Super Armor as those toys were the only ones that didn't give me any problems. Yamato was truly a great company for their efforts, but I felt I was done for good with buying anymore of their toys. I'll admit seeing the 1/60 v.2 VF-1D and VE-1 almost made me come back, but the prices were too high for me, especially considering I was a new father with a child to support. After hearing the recent news that Yamato was no more, I decided to take another look at some of Yamato's offerings and decided to add my favorites (with durability/design fixes) into my Macross collection. In the last few weeks, I replaced my 1/60 YF-19 (weathering version), 1/60 VF-11B, and my very first 1/60 v.2 toy, the VE-1 with optional parts which arrived earlier today. I am beyond impressed with this one. For the first time, I felt that they finally got it right. I still plan on adding a VF-1D, VF-1S Roy Focker TV version and the 1/60 YF-21. There's a couple other items I may add, but it all depends how much money I can raise selling stuff I no longer want on eBay, which, fortunately, has been going well. I blame the panic, but I these really are great toys and I just wish I had kept faith in Yamato long enough to have gotten them before the prices doubled.

  15. Please explain or show the differences in the the two weathered versions. I'm very curious about this. Any info you can provide would be very helpful.
  16. Does anyone have actual pics of this figure that they could post. All I see online are the professional pics taken that appear to be the mock up ones done for advertisement. I want to see what the actual YF-19 weathered version looks like and if there's any difference on the package. Was the renewal version used as the base? Also, were these really limited to only 300? Sorry, been out of the Macross-loop for a while and am very interested in picking one up. Thanks in advance.
  17. Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Max Type... Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru Type... Takatoku 1/55 VF-1S Super Valkyrie...
  18. I understand they have gone down in value quite a bit, but I've enjoyed having them and feel it is time to let them go. Paying bills and being able to afford something nice for my daughter is more important to me now. I was thinking about the following price ranges: Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Max Type. ($225-$275) Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Miria Type. ($225-$275) Takatoku 1/55 Super VF-1S. ($250-$300) Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru Type. ($175-$225) Do theses prices seem reasonable for the current market? I'm still keeping my Bandai 1/55 VT-1 Super Ostrich, 1/55 VE-1 Elintseeker and 1/55 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. I'm also keeping my Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J, VF-1A and VF-1S & separate GBP-1S Armour set. I just don't care for the ones I'm selling as much.
  19. I may be selling some of my vintage (original, not reissue) Macross 1/55 Valkyries soon, but I haven't kept up with the current market/eBay values. I need some help determing their current value. I have the following: Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Max Type. Takatoku 1/55 VF-1J Miria Type. Takatoku 1/55 Super VF-1S. Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru Type. All of these toys are in fantastic shape C-8 or better, 100% complete with accessories, unused sticker sheets and boxes. The Super VF-1S is still white withlittle to no yellowing. Any input or help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Me and a friend drove to the Regal 20-plex in Augusta, GA to watch the world premiere of Gantz on Thursday. I haven't read the manga, but I have see all 26 episodes of the anime series. My friend only saw the first two episodes. I felt the live-action movie was toned down a lot, but still enjoyable and something that can be enjoyed by a broader audience. My friend enjoyed and now wants to watch all of the anime for himself. The robot-doll alien was too cool! It was also neat to seeing the the actors answering questions.
  21. Oh the memories, indeed, when the vintage Takatoku & Bandai 1/55's were king. I remember like it was yesterday seeing Nam Ngo's Valkyrie Factory website for the first time and spending hours drooling over all those beautiful toys. They were so expensive back then, but I promised myself that I would one day own each one...took me about 9 years, but I kept that promise. I can't believe I've been a member of Macrossworld since at least 1998, well over a decade. I remember working with another customizer, Rosario Love from Washington state. He made an absolutely beautiful custom 1/55 VT-1 SuperOstrich. I wish I still had those pics I saved on my old computer from those days.
