Since I ended up pre-ordering a DX VF-1A, of course now I need missiles for Max's bird. So I just pre-ordered a set from NY.

Why do I now have this paranoia in the back of my mind that AmiAmi will send me an email soon telling me my VF-1A pre-order was cancelled, and I will end up being stuck with missiles and no bird to attach them to? 

I was on the fence with the missiles. Can take that off your hand if it does come to that (I hope it will not).

But more importantly, how about the missing VF-1J, Max will be lonely when he arrives in September, better start hunting for his friend (and good luck). :evil grin:

It's already an expensive item to begin with, and the profiteering from scalpers and certain shops is not something to be welcomed. On the flip side, it's not a necessity either, so it's a wash.

You are right. Just trying to make myself feel less upset about missing the PO. Have to try to trivialize the mark up for my own sake.

The system creates an opportunity for the scalper. Nothing we can do about it.

The price diff between those two decision might not be that big.

I am open to split if you are ok with a blank white box for the valk (or get the bigger box).

We can work out a fair price. Maybe @slick_bricks would just like to have the strike parts. Will wait or him to chime in.

If @slick_bricks are willing to buy the strike parts for $100 - $120, then $220 -$240 for the valk.

I believe that is a reasonable price for all three of us.

I am leaning toward what @jenius said. That is what I did for the 1J.

But I can totally understand @vlenhoff and are thinking of just pay up and calling it a day. This depends on where you live, $100 will just enough to buy an ok dinner for my family here in the bay area.

So either way, I am chill now. Not lucky enough to get a nice discount with PO, life move on.

My VF-1J is from amazon jp on release day, $240, not too far from $275.

Amazon jp third-party price is dropping slowly. Eventually, it will go below NY's price.

At this point, I am preparing myself for some major markup.

I hope that VF-1A street price will not go as crazy. I will want to get one on release day. And hopefully not give too much profit to the scalper to encourage them to do more of the same in the future.

But this is a free market, so anything goes. Unless Bandai or shops impose stronger limitation one per person limit. Not sure how they can practically implement something useful. Just like the craziness with iPhone release. When something is desirable, then it will be harder to get.

So I am hoping that free market force will come into play and general demand and supply will rule and if supply is sufficient from Bandai, then prices will not be too crazy.

Actually, the fifth one should be a 'just in case' situation.

I have an understanding with the postman. Packages for Apt1-x (for all x) will be delivered to Apt1 regardless (just in case they try to verify shipping address on multiple accounts.

I missed the Hikaru too. Was forced to pay a bit extra on release day. I really hope I don't have to this time around. But the PO madness on Sunday night is expected to be bad. So will not be too surprised if I end up in the same boat again.
