  1. No. That is not what I am saying. I agree with this statement. Who said the info is exclusive to Macross Chronicle? See here for a partial list of other sources: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=726139 ? I believe you're confusing fleet designation with class (or hull, your terminology) designation. Again to clarify: the position I have taken is not that the 25th New Macross Class Fleet is not a correct nor incorrect name, just that the image in this image is incorrectly labelled as "NMCV-25 Macross Frontier: Island 1", when it should be called "55th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet: Island 1" (or "55th SLREF: Island 1" or "Island 1"). The following also need changing: "NMCV-25 Macross Frontier: Island 3" should be "55th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet: Environment Ship Island 3" (or "55th SLREF: Environment Ship Island 3" or "Environment Ship Island 3".) "NMCV-07 Macross-7" should be "35th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet: New Macross 7" (or "35th SLREF: New Macross 7" or "New Macross 7"). (Note: info does not come from Macross Chronicle. Info comes from "Macross Frontier Official Fan Book", "Macross F 2059:Memories" and "Great Mechanics.DX7. I'm sure there are other sources, but there's no need. FYI Macross Chronicle, which is presenting a unified set of Macross stats, published with input from Kawamori-san (can the other publications make the same claim?), states that the fleet number of 25, for the 55th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet, comes from Battle Frontier being the 25th. I'm not able to give an exact translation at this time, but it is very clear that the 55th SLREF is not a New Macross Class Fleet (I believe that it's making the point that the fleet numbers 1~25 come from the Battle Class flagship of the fleet.) and... I can agree that even if all of the stats presented within an individual series (such as Perfect Memory for SDFM) are unified with each other, the stats from the disparate series are not unified with each other. Macross Chronicle is presenting a unified set of stats, that are consistent with each other.
  2. Good review. There's also: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/dyrl_databank.htm (funny how people don't check the main site... ) The last third of the book is 60 pages of staff interviews. It's a heavy thing. It is, of course, the definitive book on DYRL. However, if you want a greater range and wealth of lineart, especially with less staff interviews, Perfect Memory is the better option: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/series_pm.htm
  3. I see this shape, and right away, I think Pheyos (Enemy) Valkyrie. I wonder if this is a case of one copying the other, or two artists creating a similar design completely without influence from each other.
  4. Saw the mag today*. As I'm not mister money bags, I gave it a pass, and you beat me to the question I was planning to ask. However, later in the day, one of my students bought and brought the magazine. I asked to have a look - though, didn't have enough time to find the Macross article (if one is present in the magazine). Though, the last page is devoted to what I think I read is a new Macross F CD titled "Macross F Intermission". I may be wrong (only had a glance at it). So yeah, anyone else pick it up? *They're shrink-wrapping magazines at the stores. So saw means just that.
  5. You're still not getting it. The openning of Macross F is "representative", not anything else.
  6. Count me in as well. It was a bit disappointing to not have a conclusion to the narrative at first, but it was wonderful having a conclusion to the characters. The movies are too nhilistic for my taste (too much anti-fan who are anti-director un-love going on). Nevertheless, the TV series had a great, thought provoking ending, akin to the ending of "2001 A Space Odyssey".
  7. ROFLMAO!!! Not only did they have him actually walking up, and down (!!!) the side of a building (opening credits. Let's see a Westren action star do that), it has the same campy feel as the original Batman TV series. I was waiting for the campy sound effects (K-POW! SHAZAM!) to flash across the screen. It looks like a pretty good sentai series.
  8. I looked at the articles and the site last night. Going by the rules of the site, I believe the reasons why the articles are slated for deletion are: a) all of their content is available elsewhere, in an unbiased form, elsewhere on the internet. b) the relevancy of the content, outside of the series (as in the real world) is unclear or unstated. IMHO, if the articles can be fixed to show their real-world relevance, stressing that this added content is not on the Compendium, they have a greater chance of being saved.
  9. You're confusing things. There is no such thing as a New Macross Carrier. New Macross Class = Battle Class and City Class ships. Island Cluster Class = Battle Class and supersized City Class (forgetting the technical name) and Environment (war)Ship* ships. It is possible that all of the Megaroad Class vessels/super long range emigration fleets are designated SDF. It is even possible that up to the 21st New Macross Class Fleet/ 21st Super Long Range Emigration Fleet / Galaxy Fleet are designated NMC. But, it is very, very clear that the 25th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet / Frontier Fleet is an Island Cluster Class. FYI: City 7 is a City Class ship (船 is used, not 艦). Attached to Battle 7, a Battle Class Warship (艦 is used, not 船), it becomes the 37th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet and the 7th New Macross Class. *AKA Island 3, and so on. I'm not sure if translating 艦 as warship is better than just ship, but the original text is making a point in using the more militarized kanji for ship (as in, not 船).
  10. Actually, it does. What's more is that in this situation, especially because you are showing the sizes of the different classes of ships, the class name should be used. Or are you planning to include multiples of the same class, under different designations? What is a Battle section? Battle 7, Frontier, Galaxy, 13, etc, are all "Battle Class Variable Stealth Attack Space Carriers". (Macross Chronicle, Great Mechanics.DX7, MF Official Fan Book, Newtype, etc., etc., etc., etc.). Honestly, English speaking fans are misusing "New Macross Class". I'm really curious why. Is it a lack of access to materials? Not understanding Japanese or a lack of accurate translations?
  11. Not this debate again See http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28808 for why the footage is rejected from canon.
  12. Technically that should be "ICC-25", not "NMC-25". See: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2017.0
  13. I've found the first two floating around the internet. The last one can be found in Macross World - in one of the Homeworld 2 mod threads. I believe the creator of the 3D model is the MW member Lestat. I've also found this one:
  14. Or, maybe he knows you're an easy target for teasing? Suggestions: 1) ignore him 2) if #1 is impossible, then add them to your ignore list: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...amp;CODE=ignore 3) grow up, hope that he's grown up, find out what the problem is between the two of you, resolve it, and move on.
  15. I fail to see your logic. Macross Chronicle is providing a "unification of facts", in that all of the facts published within it are unified with each other. By calling into question one stat, you've questioned the entire set of stats presented by the publication. One either accepts them all, as is, or rejects them all, as is. Revisions happen. Moving along.
  16. Yes, we could. Or we could just live out the rest of our lives in peace knowing that this latest revision revises the super silly big figures into something that's just silly big. I'm curious where it actually states that. I just scanned, and rescanned both articles, and neither mentions the other, nor that one produces the other. Nevertheless, I'm also curious where the line of reasoning that all Zentradi ships must be produced at a Factory Satellite? As it begs the question: what makes the Factory Satellite in the first place? Another Factory Satellite? Macross has shipyards (Oberth), why couldn't the same hold true for Factory Satellites and FB Mobile Bases? - especially as they don't need to be massed produced to the same extent as things such as Regults and Destroyers? I think a fan interpreting the creators statements as in error, is a fan that is in error. Having both sizes (hopefully with a reference to the source and it's publication date) is probably the best way to get around the issue. Nevertheless, if one decides that one datum is wrong, that puts all the rest of the data from the same source into questionable light. So, by claiming that this datum is in error, will the Macross Mecha Manual put all of the other information from Chronicles in the same dubious catagory, thereby reducing its effectiveness?
  17. I agree with Macross Guru. It's completly unrelated, and comes across as a juvenile attempt to add pron (mecha or otherwise) to the thread. Redwolf: the nude figure is just a nude figure used for scale. A couple of the images clearly show a SDFM Meltrandi flight suit, and connectors being plugged into the suit (the entire lower right of the image). Though, it does make me wonder if the suit has some type of feedback, or senses the movement of the pilot and uses that movement data to move the suit.
  18. The definitive size of the factory satellite? Not much bigger than a Battle Class ship. See:
  19. Go with the number that Mr.March has. It's the number I used, and it comes from a count that one or more MW members did. Just to be clear, only the Super VF-1 has ever had the number of missiles it carries clearly identified - even then, some counting of a cutaway of the FAST packs was needed. Even the lineart of the other VFs only ever have "micro-missile" and an arrow pointing to the launcher slit (and they are usually not identified in any stats.) There are, of course, some exceptions, but that's the rule. What system are you doing the stats in?
  20. How much time has passed between their seeing the FB mothership and the Factory Satellite? Were they expecting something much smaller? Was their reactions added just for dramatic effect to emphasis the size of the thing? Putting things into perspective: the Zentraedi ships are huge. Anything bigger than a Zentraedi ship would be mind boggling huge - it doesn't matter if it is 500, or 3,000 Km. I don't see it so much as revisions, but more as refinements. If you take the two new figures for the FB mothership, you arrive at the same figure as in Perfect Memory. The main difference between the old and the new, that we know of, is that Kawamori-san is directly involved (even if it's only in a supervisory capacity) with the creation of Macross Chronicle. Can the same be said for other Macross related publications? Other things to consider: was there a typo? Could the original be stemming from a miscommunication? As the Factory Satellite has never been described as a one factory makes all Zentraedi equipment, I'm of the opinion that the 5 Km size ones (which may just be the size of one of the small pods around the main body) are for the creation of something other than Regults and the repair of Zentraedi ships - perhaps for the cloning of Zentraedi?
  21. Look, if you're going to be an ass about it, who's going to want to keep talking to you? The numbers are not mine. Stop trying to shoot the reporter, and do what Mr.March is doing - shoot the creator.
  22. My camera is 3-4 years old, too. Mount it on a tripod, or place it on a pile of books, when you press the trigger... erm, button. You'll know the blurry ones if you look closely at the pictures. Those are booster engines, btw.
  23. That's a very presumptuous statement for you to make, especially considering that a) you can't read Japanese, and b) the kit doesn't state the number of missiles. The number comes from a fellow MW member who counted the missiles in the anime. Also, can you take better quality pictures? Blurry picts are a bitch to read - to the point of being illegible.
  24. Try reading instead of scanning, next time: Anyhow: Re: ISC: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=1934.0 (the Compendium used my translation) Re: the lack of head lasers: the RVF-25 isn't a VF-25.
  25. Re: VF-11 MAXL Kai: the prime difference is the lack of a head laser. The chart has it at more than 4 red lines (4 m?) less height than the VF-11, with head laser included. Re: VF-14 the cockpit is visible on the back: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macrossga/vf-1...ttroid-rear.gif The Fz-109 (if the VF-14 is indeed of the same height) is: 17.11 m. The VF-11 (which this image places the VF-14 next to) is 12.92 m; giving a difference of approximately 4 m. This chart has a height difference of 7.5 m (if the red lines are spaced 1 m apart.) Therefore, the VF-11 should be looking at the VF-14's upper chest/neck, and not the groin.
