  1. As said before, it's from SDFM: Air oboeteimasuka? game for PS1. The game featured animated cut-scenes, some from the movie and some new, the most notable being the first and second (from which that video was assembled). I'd love to see a new edition of the movie which included the animations from that game. They just perfectly to show what happens before Saturn.
  2. Thanks! You did a great job with the angular surfaces, especially the bridge windows. The destroid silos look a lot like over-the-ground ICBM silos. Hoping to see a textured version of your Asuka render later... it'll sure look awesome
  3. Or perhaps a side effect of lifting the Asuka? Like an effect-bubble large enough to take the escorts up along with the "target", pretty much like what happened with the Macross fold taking the whole island and sorrounding waters.
  4. Regarding the Minmay attack in both SDFM and DYRL, it seems that once the performance starts, all communication frequencies are saturated by it, both Zentran and micronian. If you look at the way the pilots operate (thou we only see Hikaru and briefly Max & Milia), seems like each one attacks a target/area independently, without coordination or cooperation with a squadron or other VF's and there's no evidence of radio talk during the broadcast (that I can remember right away). So I would assume that each pilot is given a certain area/quadrant to attack during the briefing, and a most surely disclaimer of "and you're alone on this one". Once the effects of the "Minmay attack" start to fade, communications could be partially restored to a limited number of "secure" frequencies (previously given to pilots), so the Macross could regain coordination of its fighter wing and assign new targets/formations/orders, if needed. I have no evidence for the late, but I think it's pretty much a logical way to follow-up.
  5. Agree on the tired AG generator discussion. On the CVBG, you've done an excellent job with those renderings. I was also particular interested in Asuka II line-art, thanks to Graham for that one. Just a favor, could you take a closer look to the island section of the FD? I'm interested in how you rendered the destroyer silos (to call them some way) and the details of the bridge windows, which I believe look really cool, thou somewhat "artistic" to tell the truth. Regarding the escort, besides the idea that there should be at least 2 subs, I'd add that they should be Virginia-like class attack subs (following the idea that UNN used US-derived ships and AUN forces, Russian derived ones), perhaps with some OT/stealth improvements. Thou as I can remember, we never get to see a sub in the OVAs
  6. I know, I know... I was just pressing my luck "good Macross" being as in .... a 3ft-long Macross? With detachable main gun/carriers/ARMD's for ease of movement? ZOMFG!!!!! ... ... ... ... I'd drool to death about it !
  7. Hell, yeah! Gimme a VF-4.... and a fully-FAST-packed VF-17. What about a 1/60 König Monster? That would be HUUUUGE!!! They can basically skip the sound-force variants, if you ask me.
  8. None that I'm aware of. What really takes some time is to be able to purchase all the planes at the same time
  9. I know... but the canards/FSW configuration really put each other apart. Nonetheless, I also like a lot the looks of the Su-35, another Flanker spin-off
  10. Hehe... Did you painted the outer-side of the tail fins? Looks awesome and gives a lot of contrast to the skull on them. Damn!! I gotta rob someone fast to get mine!!!!
  11. What exactly? In SDFM, while in cruiser mode, the bridge and radome "pieces" were split apart, bridge on the right edge of the "fuselage" and the radome on the left edge. Wasn't it that same way in DYRL? I sincerely can't remember a wide shot of the bridge in cruiser mode in DYRL. And I still think this is a small toy for the price tag
  12. I would add the SR-71 and Su-47 to the nominees list. Better get "categories": - Best looking strategic/secret ops plane: SR-71 Blackbird - Best looking bomber: XB-70 Valkyrie Runner-up: B-1B Lancer - Best looking fighter: I have it tough in here... for me, it's a hard-to-call tie between F-14 Tomcat, YF-23 Black Widow and Su-47 Berkut So we get a bunch of winners there
  13. Agree totally. But that's just another "experiment", and that's the point, try to beat a given mission with a plane you wouldn't normally use to beat it in campaign mode, where time/points are the primary concern.
  14. Ummm... what happened to the pitot tube?
  15. Having those same transformers myself, sounds like yours are pretty much in the same shape that mine Which arm does your Jetfire lacks? Mine is missing his left arm Oh, and all the booster packs, from a loooooong long time ago On the other hand, my OP is still in a somewhat good shape.... given the time and "action" it saw (playing "crash & burn" with my friends), of course.
  16. I still own both of those G1 Transformers toys (plus an almost destroyed Skywarp and a somewhat good-shape Ratchet). I can confirm that G1 OP's original toy was NOT as tall or taller than a 1/48. In bot mode, he must be standing around 20cm (about 8 in). I don't remember if it came with a small human "driver", but the cab DOES open (to the front, with hinges just below the front windows) and has very very small and simple seats inside. I used to store the robot hands in the cab when in trailer mode. Jetfire is exactly the same size as a 1/55 Valkyrie, down to the same inaccurate dimensions and shapes. I'm sorry I can't post pics right now, cause the toys are currently at my parents home, and I'm a little far away from there. And yeah, the DID look a lot bigger when I got them (I was still in primary school, between 10 and 12 yo).
  17. Front fuselage? Check! Canopy? Check! Cockpit-rear bump? Check! Air ducts shape? Check! Ruddevators? Check! Wing-root shape? Check! Naaaaah, very few similarities...forget about it
  18. What a nice turn-around for the previous question. You got a point there, I must admit. The 0S hi-vis scheme is sooooo retro, and so Fokker at the same time. He must had made quite a fuzz 'cause he wanted his plane "muddafukkin white with muddafukkin yellow & black stripes!!! " (Sam L. Jackson-mode on)
  19. AFAIK, campaing mode only. Free mission is usefull for replay without history, money-earning and experimenting missions with planes you wouldn't usually take in a campaing mission (use the F-117 to destroy the mountain fortress with GPB's without descending from 15,000 ft and not having to face a single enemy )
  20. I'd go for a bigger scale, even if it takes another 20-40 extra bucks. This is sorta small for what I would expect in an SDF toy. Dunno, maybe... mmmm... 30 cm (12 in) long in cruiser mode? HECK!, even a 40cm(15in)-long SDF-1 for 200 USD!!!
  21. Well, I like both, so, yeah, burn me for it!
  22. Care to share the link, please? Looked for the thread in "Toys" and found nothing related. Thanks!
  23. How did you panel-lined yours? I've never done that and might give it a try on my VF-1A MAX. You damn right, those grey misiles suck!!! And why the grey towbar and MLG struts?... ALL the landing gear-related componentes (bays, struts, towbar) should be white, excepto the tires of course Anyway, I'm getting mine ASAP, since I won't be able to get a 1/48 VF-1 LV V1.
