  1. Hopefully this is the right thread. I've stumbled back to collecting TF, and I'm trying to play catch-up with a few Masterpiece releases. From what I've read, some of the re-releases of the MP-11 Seekers in particular have poor build quality. In addition, I've read about the large number of bootlegs floating around, with some nearly impossible to tell until you open the box. Does anyone have any recommendations on who/where to purchase the legitimate original releases? I just ordered MP-11SW Skywarp from BBTS, but I'd also like Starscream and Thundercracker along with Soundwave and MP-10 Convoy. Starscream is in stock elsewhere, but the reviews I read speak of poor construction with what I think is the 3rd release. Thundercracker is out of stock everywhere except eBay, and I'm a little wary of buying one from Japan and having it end up being a bootleg. Thanks guys.
  2. Does anyone know how/where I can get a legitimate copy of Windows 7 for my new PC? I'm looking at the reviews on Amazon and it sounds like people are getting scammed when they buy CD keys on there. I should have used the student upgrade option that Microsoft had a few years back, but I goofed up and now it is getting tough to find. Failing that, should I just get over it and use Windows 8.1?
  3. I stop paying attention to Macross for a while and I come back to find out Yamato went kaputt. Gotta say I didn't expect that.
  4. I have been meaning to pick up the book for years now, but the first Starship Troopers movie is pure 90's cheese. I love it. Plus it was the first R rated movie I watched when I was 12, so it'll always have a special spot in my heart. Boobies and a shower scene? Yes please.
  5. It'd be great if we could choose which ship, with each choice having specific strengths and weaknesses. Small and fast - SR-1 design (we know at least one other one exists, the SSV Ain Jalut - rename it like they did for the Defiant on Deep Space 9). Mid range - SR-2. Slow and powerful - an Alliance cruiser or some new design. I know which one I'd pick. SR-1 or none.
  6. Really not a fan of the new paint job, or the SR-2 in particular. If they ever make the SR-1 I'll pick one up.
  7. Either way, I'm still excited and I'll probably buy the super-exclusive edition.
  8. Has anyone else talked to Legion as a pure Renegade after you save the Collector Base? I can't remember exactly what he says since it was two months ago, but I'm pretty sure he said he was surprised by my decision, and that the Reapers were originally organic beings that uploaded themselves to the giant space crabs. Dunno if they turned themselves into smoothies first, though. Of course, the only endgame dialogue that isn't on youtube is Legion's and my saves from the base were overwritten because I did Shadow Broker after the Suicide Mission. Maybe I'm just making poo up.
  9. It's short, but what do you mean by "worth it"? It essentially wraps everything up and sets the scene for ME3.
  10. Yeah, the no teammate thing appears to be an easy way to save $$$ and time. My only lingering question is whether or not Ashley or Kaidan will show up. Looking forward to Tuesday! And if some of you aren't following the latest Cerberus Daily News updates, you should be! Apparently the Council realizes the threat. http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Cerberus_Daily_News_-_March_2011
  11. I ordered the backordered Battlepod last fall, and the credit card I used has since been canceled due to identity theft. I'll let them figure it out. Why even list the item if you aren't going to ever get any in? Oh, right, it's robotech.com.
  12. Don't the Germans also fly F-4s out of Holloman as well? They have US "HO" markings with a German flag tail flash.
  13. Now they are thinking a meltdown may have already occurred. Hopefully the containment vessel holds.
  14. Really, if they are not able to get this under control, it will be worse than the earthquake itself.
  15. From: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12307698 (ignore the middle east part, they just haven't changed the link yet) All times GMT. 1851: More on the troubled nuclear plant: Japan's trade minister, Banri Kaieda, says authorities are nearing a decision to release radioactive steam from the Fukushima nuclear reactor in a bid to ease a build-up of pressure, AFP reports. Thousands of local residents have been evacuated. 1847: ABC's Christiane Amanpour tweets: "Coolant for compromised nuclear plant in #Japan is simply water. Diesel generators sent in to get water pumps running." 1841: The situation at the nuclear reactor at Fukushima seems to be worsening. Japanese authorities are now to release radioactive vapour to ease pressure, AP news agency reports. Engineers are trying to fix the cooling system to the main reactor, damaged in the quake. 1803: President Barack Obama says the US is ready to give Japan any assistance it needs to stabilise the nuclear reactor in Fukushima. Officials have said pressure is rising after a cooling system failure.
  16. Glad everyone here is ok, at least. Saw the BREAKING NEWS on CNN.com last night right before I went to bed when they initially reported it as a magnitude 7. Woke up and found out it was much worse. Are they saying anything about the damaged nuclear reactor on Japanese news? MSNBC and CNN keep going back and forth on it. One minute it is getting better, but the next minute the pressure is rising along with the radiation level.
  17. I'm just glad it made it back safely. 1 down, 2 to go. It'll be nice to see her on display in a few years at the Smithsonian.
  18. Well, at least it won something. I feel really bad for True Grit. Nominated for, what, 12? Got zilch.
  19. Next DLC will be called "Arrival." Apparently revolves around you saving the scientist who unlocked the true age of the relays in the last Cerberus Daily News update. The PS3 trophies were leaked in a patch yesterday and BioWare has acknowledged that it is not fake. And yeah, hopefully the Alliance is involved. Makes sense, at least. http://social.biowar...3/index/6128586 Trophies: Complete the Arrival DLC Last Stand Survive all five waves in the battle for Object Rho Covert Action Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention. Some people don't think this will be the last bridging DLC, but I'd be willing to bet that it is. BioWare has to tie up your savegame somehow in preparation for ME3. 20. I could go for the VF-1D, the low vis 1A, and a future TV Max and Kakizaki... I mean Ben. Errrr...... That'll round out my TV collection in a scale that I can afford. Since they're all built with glass joints, they'll all just sit on the tarmac in fighter mode. Or I'll end up transforming them and gluing them back together. And eBay sellers usually sell them one at a time.
  21. That isn't crazy, that's what I wish I did with my Soldier. The Revenant is awful compared to the Mattock, and the Widow is my favorite gun in the game.
  22. Miranda has some serious plot armor, so I think if you keep her on your team during the Suicide Mission you will be ok. You have to TRY to kill her on the last mission, apparently. Or if you have high enough Paragon you might be able to go talk to her again and get her loyalty back. Or maybe that is just with Legion and Tali.
  23. Since the PS3 version is running an optimized version of the ME3 engine, I don't even know how a comparison is valid. Only reason to do so is to see how ME3 will look. The hardware differences are pretty minimal between the 360 and the PS3, are they not? But I think the lighting we see on the PS3 version is how ME3 will be, with some tweaks I'm sure. As for PC looking better if it is "nowhere near maxed out," I have trouble believing that. I'd say on high or very high with maximum AA and AF it'd look better, but if you're running on medium or something I think it's all in your head. The 360 version looks great, and it is very stable on my end. I've only had one actual crash, and that was due to some DLC mucking up when I went to the Captain's Cabin. The other crash I had was an Xbox Live problem. And as for glitches, I've only been stuck in terrain (or in this case, crates) once. So, I guess if you must have the absolute best visuals, then yeah PC is for you. The control scheme is clearly designed for consoles, though, the 360 in particular. And when I play on the 360, I never say to myself "the game looks like poo, wish I would have spent all of that money to upgrade my PC to max out the settings." I think it looks great on all platforms.
