The HW2 icons aren't wireframe - there schematic-ified top views. I know how to make more of the look of HW icons (did it for the HW1 TC) but it seems unecessary... me and the Major prefer the full-color images as well.

Shots of the Oberth: Moving out Missile Launch 1 Missile Launch 2 Calliara is currently being prepped. BTW, various effects (such as some lighting and illumination) can be done in HW2 textures. We just have yet to play around with these features.

That's smaller than the ARMD, though, right? (Just seems like it's smaller, and like it should be somewhat smaller...)

My point was that this is more of a discussion rather than a design thread. As the three basic races aren't even complete and ready to go, we should be careful not to get ahead of ourselves. Baiscally, I think that this design/concept talk should reside in a new thread dedicated to it.

Argh! How many times do I have to remind you people, having the supervision or protoculture forces is VERY iffy at this point. I think it's great that you're working with designs and stuff, but perhaps we should branch out another thread dealing exclusively with that stuff. Let's try to concetrate on Meltohaleundy, Zjentohlauedy, and UNS for the moment in here, please.

Normals get screwed when I import his work into Maya to prep for HW2 export anyway, so it's of little consequence. (Not the same with your stuff, as you each use different apps and different formats)

The Supervision Army still isn't 100% sure. The only races that will 100% be in the project are UNS, Zjentohlauedy, and Meltohlauendy.

I was referring to capital ships. Macross capital ships are much larger than most HW2 counterparts. In general, when I say "ships" I mean capital ships, while "fighters" means strike craft.

Why should it? Zjent forces fold in reinforcements - they don't build new ships near the front lines. Since this focuses more on heavy combat, things like this won't make too much of an appearance, if at all. (the only possible appearance would be in a campaign mission) Another thing to keep in mind is the sheer size of Macross ships. Many of the Macross ships are much, much larger than the HW2 counterparts. What seems big in HW2 suddenly isn't quite so big when you start comparing it to things like Zjent capital ships.

It was entirely possible to replace the standard mothership in HW1, and it is even more flexible in HW2 (we're adding whole new ships and races instead of replacing ones).

Textures have been revised (were revised a day or two ago). It will be approximately a week to two weeks before the Oberth is in game (it has to be prepped for animation and export, then exported, then set up... animations will then follow after, but preparation must be made initially)

Awesome. Simply awesome. Got my booster a little while back and I'm still in awe of the incredible detail and overall badass-ness of it.

Anyone who votes RT will be promptly burned at the stake. It's not Macross, really. The Original is still my favorite, though DYRL? and Plus are very close.

What ever became of the possible QF-3000E Ghost from quite a ways back? I'd still like to see a really well done QF... But out of those three, I'd like something a little different like the Thunder Hammer... otherwise the plain ol' GBP-1S would be great too.

Really liking the most recent designs... we need to get a final decision already so we can start getting these babies made and ordered!

I've also got a "detail" shot of Hikaru's -1S with the booster (side view right where it connects) Not all that detailed, though... basically it just shows that the little triangular region at the front of the booster is color-coded, as the one on Hikaru's is black with the arrow being yellow. (Mods, if any of you feel these images are too big to be attached like this, let me know... I can upload and link if that's better)
