    Please allow me to present my humble attempt at a Mega Gundam using those headache inducing techniques such as painting, decaling & top coating The kit is really not much more than an oversized HG model. While making it I dragged out a HG RX-78 kit I had and started to build it just to see how similar they are. While I was doing that my RG RX-78 arrived so I started that as well. I then thought let's do a comparison of all the different kits so with a dredge through the cupboard and an order with HW Japan I now have 8 more RX-78's on the go 1 original 1/144, 1 FG 1/144, 1 HGUC, 1 HGUC 30th Anniversary (done that in real type colours), 1 RG, 1 MG v1 (also in real type colours), 1 One Year War MG v1.5 & 1 MG v2. I've got 4 to go and once I've finished I'll post some comparison photos.

    There's no way I'd pay $400++ for a kit and not paint it, colour molded or not.

    I've found one of the best places to get GunPla from is HW Japan. Bandai kits are ALWAYS at least 20% off and most times are 30 or more off. Their web site is a bit flakey but if you know the name of the kit their search engine works fine and as they say, look up the details on a better web site then order from us. A bit cheeky but it works for me The site is run by model kit company Aoshima and they have a bit more flexible mailing options in that they use normal SAL and don't force you to use EMS once the package size goes over SAL small parcel like HLJ and few other sites do. Sorry if this is OT but I've been using them a couple of years now and they dump all over HLJ and any other site I've used. One other thing, they also give you reward points so every so often you can pick up a free HGUC kit (or whatever takes your fancy)

    A lot of the B-Club conversions take the frame of common kit such as the GM and allow you to build versions / variants there are no kits for. They also add features of one line to another line such as putting MG features on HG kits and visa versa. "Better / cooler" is subjective really and seeing as B-Club is owned by Bandai I think it's a bit of a take. They charge you and arm and a leg for the resin conversion when they could have made the kit in plastic and in all likelihood the damn thing will come out in a few years in MG or HG form anyway. Also a lot of the so called conversions are only new hands.

    Only Mad Dogs and English Men go out in the midday sun. The POMS don't get knocked around as much unless they are playing cricket It's an Armorcast Mad Dog (or Vulture to you Inner Sphere stravag's). I've attempted to model it to represent Joanna's Mad Dog, my favourite character in Robert Thurston's series of Jade Falcon books.

    Super Hornets YAWN Take away the music and the movie was a pile of crap. Put 2 after the title and use F-18s of any type and it will be a bigger pile of crap. Reprise Tom Cruise and you won't be able to make enough toilet paper to clean up the mess

    You don't really need to view all the different series Just take a bunch of angst ridden whiny kids that never do what they are told, throw in a few Gundams, a bunch of baddies that act suspiciously like WWII Germans and a blonde haired bloke with a mask. Give the 50 or so episodes a different name each time and you've pretty much got the Gundam universe down pat 0080, 0083 & 08th Team are some of the notable exceptions If you are going to follow Zeta all the way through and watch ZZ then get ready to don your silly hat for the first half of ZZ but once they realise the Laurel & Hardy act doesn't cut it the series gets back on track.

    All Panasonic players sold in Australia are region free and don't cost any extra Pretty sure most other major brands are the same. Why would it be different in other countries

    I'd be interested in at least one set of 1/72 and probably a few vehicles in 1/48. Might I suggest that once you have your samples ready and finalised a price you start a new thread in the for sale section. That way you might get a few more takers and if you are looking for volume sales to offset the costs it might be worthwhile contacting Starship Modeller to sell them as well.

    Any good camera house will have those batteries (especially the N type) and you need 2 CR1216 batteries, one for each hand. The hands can be turned on separately. The armour locks on the arms are the switches. I wouldn't call the kit MG standard, I reckon it's more like an oversized HG kit. It's pretty straight forward to build. The hype on HLJ is a bit OTT. Most of the so called 45 page instruction book is taken up with how to wire it up and the text is ten foot tall It come out okay but I certainly wouldn't pay full price for one. I got mine for around 40% off when HLJ were off loading them a few years back.

    Finally got myself one of these: BV-38 Every time I went to the SSM site it was sold out but I lucked out the other day so all I have to do now is wait for the post to get it's act together and deliver it.

    I'm working my way through Patlabor (again). Started with the OVA & Movies and am now about 1/2 way through the TV series. No matter how many times I watch this show (quite a few) it never grows old Just luv old skool, artistic errors and all
