  1. Notice that you can't vote on Mod's posts. Are they beyond reputation
  2. Isn't reputation gained from the green & red, + & - buttons at the bottom of each post.
  3. Seeing your post reminded me I had it, so I've just watched it. That's 53 minutes of my life that I'll never get back It was one of the worst things I've ever seen. It appeared to be a rip off of Independence Day with a bit of magic fairy weirdness thrown in to confuse the issue. The mecha action was OK but was all of about 5 minutes and couldn't save the rest of the show. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money.
  4. Not bad With a bit of creative positioning that Sheryl figure on her knees in background could result in a picture of one very happy Zentran soldier
  5. I've got all the Hasegawa kits and all the accessory decal sets that they released and they don't look like any decals I've seen. I'm pretty sure the cursive un spacey was only used on the 25th anniversary sets and from memory they were done in gold and didn't have skull squadron symbols. I'll see if I can dig out an old Bandai 1/72 kit but I don't think it's a copy of those either.
  6. So much angst. Do any of you pilot Gundams My old man got me into modelling when I was 5 (I'm 50+ now) and my mother was a sci-fi tragic so if they were around now they wouldn't have too much to say as it was their fault anyway I don't for a couple of reasons. 1. It looks more anime correct as apart from the kite and the skull you don't really see too many other markings. (Gundam is much the same) 2. I think the resale value is higher if they don't have the decals on (just my feeling)
  7. Here's my little (by comparison to KiriK's) lot. The cabinet is mostly 1/60 Valks (all V1 except the TV Kakazaki), some chunky monkeys, some Toynami and some Revoltech. The reflection from the mirror back makes things look a bit confusing. I've only got 3 1/48's and they are on my bookcases. The Angel is on a Yamato arm & the Max & Millia are on Flightpose stands. I recently got some more of those stands and will probably re-pose those 2 later on.
  8. Unfortunately that's what happens with all these re-releases I've got a couple of originals that I paid top dollar for as well
  9. Yay for excessive moderation But I'm sure you and frothymug will come up with some other equally as useless subjects to pontificate over You can always take a leaf out of million star's book.
  10. They haven't. Malaysia is the home of "official" knock off's. I can remember when the very first Batman movie came out they were selling videos that looked like the real thing, so called seals and all but it turned out to be a copy of a video someone took in the cinema with a hand held camera
  11. Continuing on with my RX-78 frenzy I've now finished 3 1/144 variants. Firstly the standard HGUC that comes in the GunPla starter set. Secondly the 30th Anniversary kit. This has a few differences to the HGUC kit. The size of various bits is the most obvious, followed by all the panel detail to allow you to paint it up similar to the real size one. I painted it in Real Type colours, using the MG Real Type G-Armor kit as a guide. Thirdly the Real Grade kit. I must say from the get go that I HATE this kit. Sure it's full of innovative ideas but the damn thing is so fiddly and falls apart at the slightest touch I had to glue the fingers on the gun hand in place as the kept popping out of their hole every time you moved the arm. The seams come apart on some parts of the legs and arms when you move them too far, twist the head too much and off it pops, etc etc etc. It's nice for those that don't paint that there are different coloured panels but it just adds to the overall complexity of the thing. The stickers are pre-cut to fit into the area of the model they are supposed to go which is great as long as they stay stuck. Looking back I should have used the water slide set I had. The one glaring thing about it is the size difference between it and the other 2 kits. Geez they are all supposed to be 1/144 scale so why is that each time a new kit comes out the size of just about every damn thing changes Anyway enough of the rant. Here's some shots of them side by side. And one with big brother. I've got an original 1/144 and an FG on the go and boy is there a huge difference between them and the HG era. They will take a bit of time as everything needs to be painted on them. I've also just about finished the 3 MG kits (V1, V1.5 & V2) and will probably get an original 1/100 kit to compare as well. Thanks
  12. Can I get some translation help please? I came across some stick on decals in a Dengeki Hobby magazine for the MG RX-78 v2. It has different sets for normal, real & G3. I used their stickers on the mega Gundam I pictured earlier and they turned out pretty good (not as good as water slide but hey they were free ) As I'm doing a MG real type version I thought I'd use these instead of buying Bandai's waterslide set. What I need to know is in the scan of the page below where it has POINT and shows them dipping the sticker into a dish of liquid, is that just water or do they refer to something else. I know they are doing it to allow the sticker to be positioned correctly but is it just plain water they are using. Thanks. I've also put this in the What's on your workbench thread so hopefully someone can explain it for me.

  14. Why can't they just stick to one scale instead of jumping all over the place <_<
  15. I'm guessing it's sci-fi anime and whatever happens will happen because the script writers say it will happen
  16. Exactly! That's what always annoys me about people who don't use much toilet paper banging on about how this dimension is 1mm out and that arm is too shiny or rabbiting on about real world comparisons, blah blah blah........... 99.99999% of people who see my sci-fi models are not going to know what they are let alone say something like "gee the 3rd antenna on the right arm is 1mm too short and is 5 degrees out of alignment" or in the case of the jacket for Max's VF-1 they will more than likely say "what the hell is the robot thingy doing dressed in a jacket" than "gee that jacket looks a bit small/big for a Regult" If you display the 1/72 behind the 1/60 it will give a sense of depth in small place anyway.
  17. I've got all 3. The kits are just like any Hase valk kit. They even have a standard A/J/S DYRL decal sheet. The Cartograph decals were done in conjunction with Model Graphics. I think there are other decal sheets that were included in other issues. At this point in time I have no intention of assembling them but if I ever do I would say white glue or one of the canopy glues that are around would give the best results. No way would I use normal plastic cement or super glue unless it was the non blooming type.
  18. Here ya go. All three kits have the same decal sheet.
  19. Just wear the tights. The rest will come with practice
  20. If nothing else it comes with a poster of Ishtar You can always try and track down a B-Club detail set to jazz it up:
  21. The monkey model would be cheaper to run as it only needs bananas to fuel it
  22. Who ever the script writers want to win.
  23. Anything you want seeing as it's only science fiction.
  24. Thanks. It's surprising the difference a bit of paint and the extra markings make. Out of the box this thing looks terrible. No contrast on the miles of white plastic, quite boring in fact. As a whole I think Bandai missed the boat with this kit. They could have done so much with it but didn't although if they had then they wouldn't be able to milk the ever suffering Gundam modelling community with a version 1.5 then version 2 . I hope the Zaku is a bit better.
