Well, time for me to chime in with my own 2 cents. As many of you have already pointed out, we still haven't seen if the Aoshima Legioss has fixed any of the issues in fighter mode. However, there is one thing I'm almost completely certain about: these things are gonna suffer from floppy arm syndrome. Look at all the pics we've seen so far. Not one of them shows the Legioss' arm parallel to the ground. And it doesn't look like they've made any improvements to that shoulder/swivel joint. I probably wasn't gonna buy these Legiosses anyways (since I already have the Toynami versions). But the arms are definitely a deal-breaker for me. As for the updated Tread/Beta, I honestly don't mind how it looks. I can live with the cockpit folding down the way it does in soldier mode, especially if the trade-off for an inaccurate soldier mode means a detailed cockpit and pilot. I also really want to see what type of joints they're using on the Tread/Beta. Because if they aren't rachet-joints, I fear for how the Tread/Beta will look in bomber mode. As for the hips, I really wish Toynami/Aoshima would use ball-joints ala the 1/48 Yammy Valks. Assuming the joints can hold the legs up in bomber mode and they DON'T put any die-cast in the legs, it would give the Tread/Beta the A-stance we all want. Well, let's see how things pan out. Design-wise (and only in regards to design), I actually give the slightest of edges to the Toynami/Aoshima version (over CM's version). However, unless they do a hell of a lot more impressing, Toynami's still in the sh*t-hole for the way they've handled this whole Beta situation.

If there's one thing all of the Batman films have been severely lacking in, it's the whole Batman the Detective aspect. Not sure how much of that side of Batman we'll see in this film, but I'd like to see it emphasized more somewhere down the line.

I saw this on another board I lurk on. I didn't "get" the tag line at first, and the picture didn't really do much for me. But fans of The Long Halloween (especially the very last pages), prepare to wet thy pants.....Link.

Toynami news on their Beta and 1/100 Fast Packs
Mog replied to protostar8's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just for "gits and shiggles" , here's a pic of the original Toynami Beta prototype that premiered at AX many moons ago.....(for comparison purposes): [attachmentid=42574] -
I wouldn't be so sure. It doesn't have the curviness that the CM's prototype had. We've been speculating that it may be a revised version of the Toynami Beta over on this thread.

Just like ruskiiVFaussie, I'd love for Yamato to hit us up with some "blackjack" news. But gotta agree with the rest of you, we need to keep things in priority: 1) SV-51 news, updates, assurances, and demos for Graham to play with (and mercilessly cock-tease us with) 2) News on improvements to the latest batch of YF-19's. 3) News on the shoulder improvements to the upcoming VF-0's (and how to obtain 'em). 4) Veiled hints of when the YF-21 may be released. As much as it pains me to say it, I'd rather Yamato focus all of its attention on making these closer upcoming releases as top-notch as possible, rather than getting distracted with a goal of releasing the YF-21 by the end of this year.

Toynami news on their Beta and 1/100 Fast Packs
Mog replied to protostar8's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wait a minute, let's go back to the Beta cockpit. Assuming this is the Toynami prototype or a reworked version of it (it definitely has the Toynami version's well-known "boxiness"), that's definitely the first time I've ever seen the cockpit on the sucker. But it's just surprising that they're showing this at a Japanese convention(?). Again, this is ASSUMING that what we're looking at is the Toynami Beta. Also, I'm curious to see if they added any special features to this new-fangled cockpit and how this particular section will transform and maintain its anime-accuracy in all three modes. The plot thickens. -
Wow, those are some pretty impressive poses in those blog pics. Much better than what we've usually seen in the past. BTW, have we seen pics of the final product standing on its own two feet yet?

One thing that's annoyed me a bit is the Chinese mercs' logic in killing off Milo. Sure, I understand the plot and shock value reasons for doing it. But seriously. The Chinese know CTU is out looking for them. Call me stupid, but isn't it possible that those CTU agents out in the field would probably call back and need to talk TO THE PERSON IN CHARGE AT CTU?! So, they decide to kill off (who they think is) the head guy and willingly add unnecessary complications to their mission. Smart, real smart. On the other hand, I will give the writers credit for adding a few shades of grey to the characters of both Tom Lennox and Mr. Evil VP. They could have easily made them your standard, cookie-cutter villians, but they at least gave the two characters a few layers and dimensions.

The Germans......again? (Sorry, a little South Park in-joke there.) This season's definitely had its moments. But overall, you know it's bad when certain plot twists make you laugh out loud or shake your head in disbelief.

Thanks Shawn! Everything looks good from my end. I appreciate the minor fix-up, especially considering the recent upgrades were "probably" a bigger concern.

Considering they screwed the pooch on so many things in X3, isn't it safe to say you weren't necessarily "spoiled" in a bad way?

Sorry to bring this up again, but it still looks like the clock is off 2 hours.

Is it just me, or is the time off on the board's clock and post times? FYI, I'm just using IE 6.0, and I already re-checked my board settings.

Roy (doing his worst Ash Ketchum impersonation): "[hic] I choose you, Hikaru!!" Another One... Roy: "Does this smell like Claudia?"

Roy: "DAMMIT, QUIT SITTIN' THERE LIKE AN EMO LITTLE B!TCH!! GET UP, FIND THAT MINMEI CHICK, AND TAP THAT ASS!!"

Even though the pic really doesn't show it, my Hik' is a hunched forward quite a bit. To get the legs to sprawl out like that, you'll need to: 1) Bend the upper leg joint forward, 2) Bend the knee joint back as far as possible, 3) Move the kneecaps forward and out of the way, and then 4) Swing the lower legs out to the sides at the knees. To give you a better idea of what I'm describing above, here's a closer pic of the leg set-up:Pic Link. That pic was taken over a year ago (mostly to show off the leg art sticker(s)), but it'll give you an idea of how to set up and position the legs.

To all the naysayers........you were right. I think the movie had a bad case of "sequel-itis." They tried to make everything bigger, more elaborate, more characters, more comedy bits, just more of everything. Case in point: the whole Disco Parker scene and elaborate dance bit at the jazz bar. As one of my buddies pointed out, there's definitely a good movie or two in the plot and set-up. But there was just too much crammed into this one movie. Part of me wishes they had focused the film more on the overall revenge theme and then edited out a good chunk of the extraneous fluff. A few good things though: * Harry's wickedly, f'd-up revenge plan and Petey's cold-ass response brought some devilish grins on my face. * "'nuff said." (Total fanboy moment, but still cool.) * Gotta love the late-night crowd in Hollywood: SPOILER - When MJ kisses Harry, people in the audience screamed out "WHORE!!"

Looks like some newer pics of these have surfaced on the net: http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=alb...%2F&start=0 Comment, praise, and criticize.

Methos. Surviving, manipulating, quipping, and conniving his way throughout the entire story, but winding up very much alive at the end of the day.

I don't know. Based on the connecting piece we saw from the Wonder Festival prototype (complete with landing gears and Legioss connection point), you can make some pretty solid guesses on how the connection may wind up. That all said, despite whatever concerns I may have, you know my sorry butt is gonna buy at least one of these things (assuming the price is reasonable). It becomes more a question of who (between CM's and Toynami's versions) I'll buy the multiples from. Of course, Toynami's continual vaporware Beta situation may make this issue moot. .......Like everyone else here, I just hope CM's takes whatever extra time they need to improve/refine the Legioss' sculpt and that damn blasted connection!

Hah, people watching Eureka Seven's finale on Adult Swim just got
Mog replied to Raptor's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
To answer your original question JsARCLIGHT, the original version of this episode had no opening credits/song and no ending credits/song. The version that aired on Adult Swim last Saturday had BOTH the usual opening and ending songs. It's the fact that those two things were ADDED into the episode when they removed the epilogue that just boggles the mind. Sure, I can understand time constraints (which is why I was NOT overly-annoyed by them removing the beginning parts of this episode...I figured it meant they would make it up by leaving the epilogue as is). But for them to remove the entire epilogue, when they already had a dubbed version of the epilogue, when that dubbed version already had the English credits on it, and when they REPLACED the epilogue with the usual ending credits, that was just downright bone-headed on their part. Also, the title of the episode is based on stuff that's said in the epilogue, and the epilogue provides an appropriate end to the entire series. If cuts had to be made for time, the epilogue should have been on the short-list of things to keep in the aired episode.
