    That whole back third of the fighter mode and bellyplates seems to be where most of the design choices don’t make much logical sense, right now. I’m guessing the extra space is most likely for the legs and feet (probably since the feet point away from each other?). But without seeing Gerwalk mode, I can’t say whether or not this design choice is an improvement or not. Just very different.

    I just hope they got the original Eureka Seven writers for this, because “Eureka Seven: Ao” was an utter, horrible clusterfrak.

    Don’t get me wrong: the Bandai arms could be made a little beefier/thicc-er. But the question becomes: how bigger can you make them without impacting the look of fighter mode? Oh those fun design compromises!

    The leg placement also impacts the perception about the arms. The legs are higher up on the Bandai torso and lower on the Yamato. The Yamato arms would look like gorilla arms on the Bandai. And given that this is a Q-Rau derivative, the higher leg placement might be more “correct.”

    ^^Another thing to point out is that the Yamato cockpit splits and a very small portion of it folds over the nose cone. Making the Yamato’s center fuselage/cockpit/nose section even longer than the Bandai’s. I suspect Bandai made the arms smaller, as they’re covered up/boxed in for fighter mode. For the Yamato version, the arms were incorporated as the side of the fighter mode, with no cover on the forearms.

    To quote BSG: “All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.” Eugimon’s Omega PantsTM was basically this same idea of having add-on parts to make the 21’s legs stockier for battroid mode.

    The short and oddly-angled bellyplates are something I and a few other folks have been harping about for awhile. Based on the pics we saw of the prototype, that design choice (having the back third of the bellyplates become part of the battroid backpack) could also muck up the look of the Gerwalk mode.

    I don’t have the figures in front of me, but I could have sworn Sentinel’s Stick, Rey, and Yellow were all taller than 16cm. If the Legiosses are around the same “size” as the Ride Armor, that’d be fine. Oh the joys of relying on measurements without extra details (especially when headfins and other greeblies get involved).

    So at 16cm tall in Armo-Soldier mode, this Legioss will be smaller than even Sentinel’s own Ride Armor figures, right? I can understand them being smaller than Toynami or CM’s offerings. But wow, that’s a huge size difference. So basically, this Legioss will be just a smidge taller than an iPhone Plus? If it was scaled up to be 2 or 3cm taller, I might be convinced to pull the trigger. But not at this current size and current price point.

    Even though I never bought it, I’d have to mention Feral Rex. That impressive combiner really made me take notice of the third party offerings, how they could fill niches that Hasbro/Takara wouldn’t be doing anytime soon.

    Nope. It was short, but told a very good story with great callbacks to a previous fight. And it showed how much more skilled Obi became while in the desert.

    Just finished the season finale. That was a funny and enjoyable way to end the season.

    As a movie, I can get the annoyance. As a typical arc for the TV series, it wasn’t that horrible. The Skyguy and Artooie crap was dumb, and Rex was relegated to just shouting all his lines (except for his awesome “experience outranks everything” line). But having watched later eps first, I can see signs of what was to become of the series later.

    Well, both Greef and Mando are criminals (EDIT: sorry, bounty hunters or guys working in the underworld of society) working on the outskirts of the galaxy. I doubt they’re big into Jedi history or Jedi in general. If they were working closer to the Republic/Galactic center, I could see them being more familiar with the Jedi. Add in how rare Yodas supposedly are, and it isn’t too much of a stretch to understand that Greef and Mando don’t know jack about Baby Yoda’s species or about the Force. Regarding Mando’s age, if we assume he’s in his 30’s, he’s probably around Han or Luke’s age. And we all know what Han’s original opinion was of that “hokey religion” and Force stuff. Lastly, let’s not forget that Obi-Wan whipped out a lightsaber in a Tatooine cantina, and no one even batted an eyelash. And this series is about 10 years (?) removed from that incident.

    DVD’s of the first 6 episodes (when they went on sale), including non-anamorphic copies of the Original Trilogy. Have all the rest available via streaming (Netflix and Disney+). Would probably buy Rogue One, but again easy access via streaming. The only hard thing to get via streaming is the Genndy T. Clone Wars microseries. So, doubtful I’d buy that blu ray pack.
