final shirt design order here
Apollo Leader replied to zerocool's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Since Nick (Solscud) was originally suppose to send me a shirt, did anybody who got one through him have troubles getting their shirts? I sent him a check three weeks ago. About a week later, he confirmed that he had gotton the check from me and was going to mail it the next day (which was a week ago Monday). Over a week and a half later, no shirt and Nick isn't responding to my PM's which have been polite so far. Nick, I got my MW Con 2 shirt from you without any problems so what the heck is going on??? -
Dude, thats the ONLY continuity problem with Transformers. 321309[/snapback] Don't you mean that's NOT THE ONLY continuity problem? For example, in the episode where the Constructicons were first introduced, Megatron described how they were created on Earth. Not too long arfterwards, the whole big story line was introduced of Omega Supreme having been friends with the Constructicons millions of years ago and then him chasing them down for the next few million. It just always killed me watching the show even when I was just 12 that none of the script writers were working together to make sure their stories held water.

Aircraft VS super thread!
Apollo Leader replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
At least as of a few years ago, General Steve Ritchie, the last USAF fighter ace (all 5 of his kills were MiG-21's), was appearing at air shows in a privately owned and funded F-4C or D made to look like one of the ones he piloted with MiG kills and all. -
Aircraft VS super thread!
Apollo Leader replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Dude, you better make it here this time! -
There is going to be 9 episodes with a best of episode. What we were told by Bruce last night is that there will be a season 2 and that they are looking for some younger rocketeers to be in those episodes so, hey, it's possible. Bruce will probably be in another episode and there are a number of guys in our group who would probably work great on front of the camera. I am starting work on my Level 3 rocket right now (Super Dimension Rocket Macross - yes, it will have a Macross inspired finish and I will be posting pictures soon!) so I should hopefully get my L3 in a few months and be worthy of flying with the likes of the Master Blasters and those other maniacs!

http://www.scifi.com/masterblasters/ Because of the high ratings, episode 2 will now be shown at 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central tomorrow night then reair two hours later. Instead of the lawn dart episode that was promoed at the end of last Wednesday's episode, it's going to be the Mini Cooper episode instead... they are going to fly Mini Coopers with two of the same booster motors used to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles! Most of the members on the "Rocketman" team I have personally known for a decade... of course this includes the president of our club here in Nebraska, Bruce W. Lee. It is on this same episode where Bruce's artery in his hand is cut in an accident on launch day. He ended up missing the launch of his team's Mini Coop because he was in the hospital.

Since there has hardly been any Macross toy news for the longest time, I haven't hardly bothered looking in here anymore! This is great news that the VF-0 is getting a large, detailed toy. Graham, if you see this, do you remain in touch with Yamato at all anymore? Yamato should remember that you were pretty much their number one salesman for the "unofficial" international market!

Next Gen and Gamefan... boy do I miss those magazines big time. A few months after Gamefan ceased, most of the Gamefan staff started the magazine GameGo. They only got one issue out before that effort collapsed. The only two game magazines I still get these days are EGM and Nintendo Power. I've been subscribed to Nintendo Power since 1988 (Issue 1!), but I am planning on letting it expire this fall. In fact, I got rid of my whole video game magazine collection a few months ago... I had about 400 - 500 lbs. worth of these magazines!!! Back to the subject of Gamefan, who remembers their anime review guy Eric "Shidoshi" Patterson? I went to high school with him at Omaha North back in the early 1990's. He was one grade behind me. If I'm correct, he was able to do his job here in Omaha without moving out to California where Gamefan was located.

The whole blow up over Mortal Kombat and Night Trap and the creation of the ESRB happened during the first two years of Bill Clinton's first term. It's funny seeing Hillary, who is further left then Bill, coming out as this high-and-mighty, anti-video game crusader in order to appeal to a bigger audiance for her 2008 presidential run. Though one thing is consistant with her true liberal nature is that she wants big government to be the fix of all problems.

Though my comments aren't aimed towards any one particular person who's participated in this thread, but for those who talk about sex being "harmless" - movies, TV, and in this case, video games, only show the fun and enjoyment. Rarely do they look into the physical and phsycological damage/consequences that can result (VD, pregnancy, millions of "unwanted" babies from said pregnancies being snuffed out via abortion, etc.).

http://www.scifi.com/masterblasters/ Though I don't see his picture posted on the site yet, the president of our rocketry group here in Nebraska (along with being the treasurer for the Tripoli Rocketry Association), Bruce Lee, was involved in the making of Master Blasters. If you see him on one of the episodes, you will see him wearing a red cast on his right hand... his radial artery was severed in a freak accident on the first day of the two week shoot back in June! Make sure to watch the Sci Fi channel next week!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,163141,00.html Looks like San Andreas will be getting an AO rating at least until newer versions of the game are pressed without the code.

I think Solscudd's responsible for the shirt, but he hasn't said anything in weeks...
-
I got the full set back in 1998 when there was nothing new coming down the turnpike. If I only new about what was coming from Yamato, Bandai, and even Toynami... But being the completist I am, I still have them today.

The 2005 San Diego Comic Con Thread
Apollo Leader replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just heard that the Beta/Tread shown at the Comic Con was painted... pictures, anyone? -
I remember being told by a Bandai rep. a few years ago that they thought that a Gundam RPG/strategy game (Gihren's Greed) wouldn't do well enough to justify bringing it stateside... I guess this is better then nothing, but I would far prefer that they do the PS2 or the upcoming PSP Gihren's Greed...

SDF Macross Licensed by ADV
Apollo Leader replied to Mercurial Morpheus's topic in Movies and TV Series
ADV having picked this up shouldn't be a bad thing because ADV has the ability to better promote and distribute Macross then Animeigo did. Having a separate English dub track should help draw in more people to check out this great classic. Hopefully we will get a bunch of new artwork for the DVD's and boxes and get some new extras, too (whether it be DVD content or other stuff). -
Since MW's been down these last few weeks, what's the word on the shirts???
-
Got it the day it came out. Haven't had much of a chance to play it, but since it's based on Federation vs. Zeon, I like it so far. But I wish suits like the Mk II would actually walk with their legs instead of float around usinf their thrusters (then again, I haven't played it much).

MasterPiece Collection v1.1
Apollo Leader replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looks promising. Hope Toynami and whoever is assembling these things in China can pull this off. -
War Of The Worlds Trailer is OUT! Summer 2005!
Apollo Leader replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've seen it twice and so far I've enjoyed it. Liked it more then Independence Day. My favorite scene (though you don't see it) is when Tom Cruise kills that F.A.G Tim Robbins. (But then again, I find myself liking Tom Cruise less and less these days...) I really liked how the alien walkers/mecha are extremely close in appearance to their alien operators just like how we would build mecha and robots based off of ourselves (bipedal, two arms and two legs, etc.). One complaint is that the issue of using nuclear weapons, even just small tactical ones, never came up. Considering the havoc these things are wrecking and inability to fight them conventionally, nukes would most definitely be put to use. I think it would have been cool if this movie was reworked as a sequel to Rain Main or any of Tom's other early movies. More on this later.
