  1. I got this CD for a friend of mine. I need to find one for myself. I may have bought the last regular priced one ever at Vintage Vinyl here in NJ years ago But the crazy thing is that I first heard it on an internet radio station, Hardrockin80s.com. I was like "why do I hear that Minmei song?"
  2. I'm not in the Philippines, but I remember this game! I got it as part of a Famiclone console that I got at the Englishtown Flea Market in New Jersey just about 20 years ago this month. My only previous exposure to Macross was Robotech on Cartoon Network for a few months in 1998, and then I saw this very Robotech-ish game. I googled what the relationship between the two franchises was, got confused, and remained that way for another 15 years I think the game... is meh. I played it again recently on Retroarch. Is it just me or is it one level that repeats over and over again a la many games of the pre-NES era? It's almost like I'm playing a sidescrolling Atari Star Wars
  3. The oldest posts in this topic are like an emulation blast from the past That's pretty cool. ZSNES, SNES9x, nowadays I use Retroarch. I forget exactly what core I use. Something something balanced. I played it with the Overtech and SRAM ROMhacks today. Use the Overtech patch first then use the appropriate SRAM patch. Use Lunar IPS to apply the patches to a clean ROM. https://www.romhacking.net/games/3770/ This link is 100% not copyright infringing. I'm very impressed by this game. It's fast paced, a huge spectacle, throws a lot of varied stuff at you, controls well (even better with the L and R controls in one of the hacks), and sounds great. It gave me Contra 3 vibes in how awesome it got at times. It's really interesting that there's a lot of English in the base ROM. Or rather Engrish. I haven't gotten to the end of the game yet, but if the game throws "CONDITION CLITICAL" at me I'm going to die
  4. I couldn't wait for a hypothetical US release 😅 I got this today, and I just finished watching it. It was okay. I liked the Frontier movies more, but this one was okay. I'm looking forward to the second Frontier movie. I've got it preordered!
  5. This is all I need to know When I finished watching all of the Evangelion stuff on Netflix, I said to my friend, "Of all the things I've seen in my life, that was the most recent."
  6. If we don't get English subs in a US release, we riot. I think English subs are perhaps the safest bet ever in history. I'd be surprised if there's an English dub, though.
  7. Small world indeed! That's so cool! I was the one guy sitting in the back towards the right for both showings. I told a couple friends of mine, but they didn't want to/couldn't go. Their loss! It was an awesome two movies! I just got tickets for both movies at the same time and got the same seat. It seems like a lot of people did. Except for Mr. Bored I liked Cinemark a whole lot. It was my first couple times there. It reminded me a lot of the old Amboy Cinemas that I used to go to when I was a kid. It felt like a good old movie theater. I'll have to go there some more even though it's not my local theater. Maybe for future Fathom anime showings.
  8. Then I could've watched it subbed instead. No big loss.
  9. I obviously haven't gotten them yet, but I decided to place an order for the Proplica Macross Frontier microphones. I'm such a weirdo 🤪
  10. So it is the Robotech episodes. Oh well. I might be the outlier here in that I actually like Robotech a lot, but I would appreciate the original form of Macross getting a good US release again, too. Sadly, I missed the boat on the DVDs from around 15 years ago. I would have loved to have gotten the English dub set. I didn't know jack about Macross back then, and I wasn't exactly rolling in the money to buy such a set.
  11. I'm guessing this "original series" that's going to be on Crunchyroll is the original Macross. Is that correct? Harmony Gold's screwy enough that I could see this being Robotech is coming ot Crunchyroll.
  12. They did make Robotech II, Shadow Chronicles, and one more short film, but all of them were still as much of a dead end as the final episode was back in the 80s. II got struck from canon, IIRC, but they made Shadow Chronicles with the idea of there being more sequels. They never happened. That makes me sad I hope something comes about in this surge of Robotech/Macross in the USA that finishes the Robotech story. I've heard good things about the novels, too, and they actually bring the story to as much of a finish as there could possibly be from what I've heard. If reprints come out, I'm picking them up.
  13. It's pretty cool! Heads up, my Ranka came with a much smaller single figure base. I don't know why. Sheryl came with the big base, so I was already set there.
  14. I think they did tell us at some point, but it might not have been in the theater. If it was, it was before the first movie. I remember seeing something about "a selection of music videos" mentioned somewhere.
  15. Thanks! I actually already got her legs positioned properly. I copied and pasted a bunch from another forum, and I forgot it was my first post on the subject before I settled her feet into the pegs.
  16. I don't think it'll take Rightstuf/Nozomi that long to release all of their stuff. Three years tops. They've been good at putting out great quality stuff at not the quickest pace but not something that you'll wait until you have both knees replaced either. They've been decently providing us with Gundam for the past 5 years or so.
  17. I like Robotech. I just wish they'd finish it. There being nothing after The Shadow Chronicles for over 10 years has been so disappointing. I also like Macross. I'm happy with it going in its own direction.
  18. I am! Thank you for having me! I literally found out about this news while browsing the forums here today. Best first day of being on a forum ever!
  19. You bet that when I got the first Macross 7 CD at Anime NYC a few years ago, I hopped on the train as fast as I could, flew into my Jeep in Jersey, popped it in the CD player, and rocked out all the way home I think I was the only weirdo at the whole convention that liked Macross 7
  20. Seriously, not trolling one bit, I'm extremely excited for this! I might be the only one, but Macross 7 is my favorite Macross. All of this great news is making my weekend!
  21. For these new Robotech blu ray sets, I'd blame Funimation more than Harmony Gold for the video quality problems. Funimation has been screwing up Dragon Ball Z for the better part of two decades, and they've done some other head scratching things with other anime over the years, including the oddly limited release of the Cowboy Bebop movie steelbook blu ray with surround sound. It's a shame because Funimation can put out a great quality release for the masses when they want to, but for whatever reason they choose not to. I have a question, since these new Funimation sets use the "remastered" audio (I'm presuming the one from the Protoculture Collection set from years ago), does this mean that the Funimation sets contain the additional content that the old remastered DVD releases has? Such as the nudity. Well, mostly the nudity. Just want to know if there's anything that I'd need to cover the kids' eyes for
  22. Here are my non-Macross anime figures This is a Heartfull Memories Little Witch Parfait figure. I have absolutely no idea what the franchise she is from is like. It could be naughty for all I know, so maybe don't google it I don't want to know. But I saw this figure online a decade ago, and I finally got her this year. She's so cute! This is Haruka Suzumiya from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, also known as Rumbling Hearts. I got the complete anime series on DVD years ago, and I thought Haruka was a very sweet girl though she was sad through much of the series. This figure captures her as she would be in her happier more grown up future, if I remember correctly. I love the details in this figure and even in the stand. I was always mesmerized by how her bikini bottoms disappear between her thigh and her abdomen. It made her body a little more substantial than simply looking nice in a bikini. And look at that base! It's an intricate base made to look like sand, and it has spots specifically for her legs and even her fingers to settle. This is one stand that lived up to the promo pictures. She also had a friend that had a similar playful bikini figure released. I hope I get her one day because I want to reunite the two friends. I've had Haruka for probably over 10 years. It's time for them to meet again. This is the final Mon-sieur Bome figure. She's an original character named Akira. I don't believe she ever appeared in any anime or manga. I thought she was very cute. I love all the strands and curls in her hair, her frilly outfit, and all of the bows on her! I got her in early 2008 at Zapp! Comics and Cards in the Freehold Raceway Mall. (They've since moved to a strip mall in Manalapan.) Being that this is the US market version of this figure, she has no castoff feature, but I don't think she needs it. She's more sweet than sexy, and I like her the way she is. (Please forgive some of the dust. It's difficult to clean in some of the bow creases, and I misplaced my feather duster.) Kasumi here is another Mon-sieur Bome figure. These Bome figures were known for being high quality figures at lower prices. They delivered on the promise, but it's impressive just how well they delivered with this figure of Kasumi from the Dead or Alive video game series. I believe this figure is most based on her Dead or Alive 3 appearance considering when I think this figure originally came out, though her Dead or Alive 4 appearance was pretty much the same. It contains the design on her... dress? Kimono? What exactly is she wearing anyway? Well, 14 year old me didn't care about that when playing Dead or Alive 2 on my Dreamcast She was my video game waifu Anyway, she's very nicely sculpted in this figure. Her face is perhaps a little more cutesy than she ever appeared in the games, but that's not a problem at all. Kasumi was always cute. I love the sculpting on her right leg. It was very lovingly sculpted. I also got a bootleg version of this figure's white outfit version back in 2008 or 2009 at a short lived anime store called D2Tau Asia in the Route 18 Market in East Brunswick, NJ, but don't go looking for that place because they sold the land to Wal-Mart over 10 years ago. This is Hazumu! She's a character from the manga and anime series Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl. Hazumu was a girlish boy who was loving life until he was rejected by the girl he loved. He went running off into the countryside where an alien spaceship fell on him and critically wounded him. The alien in the spaceship was able to resurrect him, but he accidentally rebuilt Hazumu as a girl. Only then did madness ensue I loved this manga and anime so much when I was in college. I would reread the available volumes of the manga over and over again between classes. This figure is based on when the girls went to the beach. What can I say about her? She's cute as a button, has an amazingly sculpted body, and the bikini is 100% faithful to the art in the manga! She also came with a pair of sandals that I never liked on her, but they were decent for 1/6 scale dolls like Momoko. I just love this cute little Hazumu so much ❤️ She was actually my very first anime figure, too. Finally, this is my newest figure. I just got her today. She's Silfietta Luashia from Meishoku no Reiki. Like Little Witch Parfait, I have absolutely no idea what the franchise she's from is like, but I'd venture to say that this franchise is less safe to google than Parfait's franchise She's a much older figure, but I got a great deal on a new old stock one that had a less than perfect box. I can live with the box being messed up if the figure is in good condition, and she is in very good condition. The biggest concern I have right now is how her feet settle into the pegs on the stand. I only have one foot pegged. I think she would actually be more stable and would make the one chain on her left wrist settle better if I were to get her other foot on the other peg. I'll have to see how far I'm able to bend her legs to try to get both feet pegged. In the meantime, she's okay right now. And... Yeah. She's kind of a sexy prisoner elf girl. I have no defense I've always admired her, though. She has a stunning body with long, long legs, and she even has an amazing hairdo. Her top is semi-transparent in spots, though it's opaque in the necessary parts. The opaqueness is a good thing if you've got company because the top is castoffable, and there are things worth hiding I have spared the audience those photos from this topic. I figure the pillars with the chains and her tushie showing are already more than enough. But seriously, she's an amazing figure that's actually a great 1/6 scale.
