  1. I wish the wait for the armor/FAST packs wasn't so long...
  2. Very, very excited about this news. I never got the last YF-19, but I have almost all of the Macross 7 VF-19s. So fantastically well-designed. I hope everyone who is saying that this is coming with the FAST packs is correct.
  3. It's taken me a while to get back around to reopening this project from a few years back, but here I finally go. I've created four decals - 2 brand new, 1 which was never before offered here on Macrossworld, and 1 which was the beginning of this entire labor of love. I've had to teach myself a lot about Adobe Illustrator since I've never used it as extensively as I probably should have before now. Get ready for an image-heavy thread... First up is a renewal of the original one I made: the UN Spacy "kite" logo. If you have one of my originals, these new ones are much more vibrant in the red color, are made from thicker vinyl, and are guaranteed to last longer in terms of color holding (not fading) according to the new print shop I'm working with. Here's the first proof which I just picked up today. Here's the first of the brand new ones: The SMS logo! I intentionally added the gray border around the black since I felt like giving it a bit of an "Ozma" touch. I sincerely like this much more than just the black and yellow by themselves. I went outside and promptly applied both of them onto the inside rear windshield of my car. Here's another shot from a short distance away to give you a clearer idea of the size. Each one is about 5" in diameter. They fit perfectly under the rear window defroster in my car. And one last shot from straight back. The third one which I had done was a project which I started a long time ago but never got beyond the proofing stage. I had one of these made with my own text info and then decided that it would be a one-off. Well, now that's changed since the print shop I'm working with has indicated that I could change the text all around to say just about whatever I want, and the production price will remain the same (even across different vector files - they don't have to charge for a new job if it's just a text change). What this means is that anyone who is interested could send me the text for what they would want their unique decal to say, and the print shop can make it happen. For your consideration: the UNS Base Pass Parking Decal. A few more from further back to show its size. It's about 6" across and 3" tall. Last one from head on. Keen-eyed observers may have seen another non-Macross decal in one of the photos above. I'm a huge Borderlands fan, and Mr. Torgue has become one of my very favorite over-the-top characters in any video game I've ever played. I was absolutely compelled to create a Torgue decal for my car. It just seemed too perfect a match. Another from a little further back. This one is quite a bit larger than the Macross decals - about 7". Depending upon the amount of feedback which I get for these, I would like to try to start selling them at $15 shipped (which includes Paypal fees) apiece. Unfortunately, I can't still do $10 shipped like I used to as the new shop is a bit more expensive than the last one. The quality and service is definitely higher, though. Also... another project which I've been contemplating for a long time... shirts! Please forgive this very crude concept example. I slapped this together in a hurry. The final colors will be much more closely matching. I had contemplated wanting different colors for the rings on the shirts to match the colors of either Hikaru (red), Roy (yellow), Max (blue), or Kakizaki (green), but I suspect that this would be extremely cost-prohibitive. The smallest quantity of these I could have done is 25, and they would cost upwards of $25 each (shipping and Paypal fees included). I'm still on the fence about these unless I get some super strong feedback. Next one is the SMS logo on a gray shirt. This one I really like. I feel like the gray border on the logo is unnecessary, and would probably be tossed out with the final printing. These would be very high quality screen printing and I've been guaranteed that they wouldn't crack, fade, or wear out before the shirt itself does. I've seen some of the other shirts which this particular shop has made, and I can actually believe it. Same deal as with the UNS one - the smallest quantity I could have done is 25, so these would also be upwards of $25 each. Please let me know what you think about these. If I can get enough interest, then I will go ahead and start ramping up production right away. I'm also going to post this thread in the Sales section to see if I can get some feedback.
  4. Oh... wow. Just unbelievable...
  5. Got my FAST packs yesterday! I really like the look of these in all modes.
  6. Who/where has the best prices on the teal armor pack? For that matter, is this even available yet...? I haven't kept up closely, but now that I have my VF-171 in hand, I think I'll go all the way with it.
  7. What's your asking price? I have a friend who might be interested. Please let me know via PM? Thank you!
  8. I just found someone on eBay selling the FAST packs for $80 shipped. (I hope y'all don't think I got taken... I didn't really shop around, so I made an impulse buy.) I wanted a set for my S. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271200132943?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Now it's a race to see which will arrive first - these FAST packs, or my VF-171. And now I'm going to want the armor for it too... Ah well.
  9. Just broke down and bought one. Glad I finally managed to - I was starting to worry that I might have missed out. Wish it wasn't quite so expensive, but oh well.
  10. Wait a tick... Are you saying that you're capable of creating new hands for the Alpha? I might be all over this. Also, by the by, would you be able to reproduce the hands from either of the masterpiece-sized Cyclone riders? I have no idea how, but on one of my hands, the trigger/index finger became separated from the rest of the hand. Thankfully I still have others, but I really miss that trigger finger hand.
  11. After years of owning an Alpha, I finally broke down and bought a matching Beta recently since the price was too good to refuse. My blue Alpha is - luckily - still 100% intact, but I find myself wishing terribly that someone (anyone) would re-engineer this fighter. I genuinely like the shape/lines and the transformation method. Toynami's attempt was... a passable first attempt, but could have been SO much more...
  12. ... but I just wanted to say, GREAT job! I am truly enjoying seeing a lot of images which I've never seen before. (And I've been around on this site for a very, very long time.) Please keep up the great work.
  13. I apologize in advance for asking this in the wrong thread, but if I was considering trying to sell my broken V1 Ozma with armor pack, about how much do you think I could ask for it? Both front landing gear doors are broken, and the main waist "hinge" in battroid mode has developed a visible crack on one side. I won't miss the V1 at all in favor of the V2, and I seriously regret having bought the V1 in the first place.
  14. Quoted for great truth. C'mon people, sell me on this!
  15. I absolutely want a VF-5000.
  16. I actually didn't know that I had preordered the "special edition" until I went to pick it up at the store. I am honestly wanting to get an OD British commando sweater and have the XCOM patch sewn onto it.
  17. Hell yes there was, and even though it was only for a split second, it was one of my favorite moments of the whole movie. I almost screamed in delight.
  18. My wife thought that I was nuts when I kept on spotting cameos for things. Absolutely loved the Konami code. If you look carefully at the graffiti in one of the train terminals, you'll see "Sheng Long was here." Gonna have to watch it again to continue spotting more things.
  19. Ugh. My VF-25S is suffering from severely floppy hip joint syndrome. I've removed one of the legs and covered the ball joint with 2 coats of clear nail polish, and that didn't help a single bit. What should I try next?
  20. The Honest Trailer up there is brilliant. Totally sums up my disappointment in this movie.
  21. Wonder if Bandai will eventually do Tornado Packs for the renewal version VF-25's...?
  22. I'm thrilled to say that I've finally managed to join the very exclusive club of VF-25S Armored Messiah owners. I can't help but now find myself wanting the Super parts as well... The new one puts the previous one to shame. I don't even know what to do with the original now. Although the armor is fine, the Valkyrie itself is broken in two places - and that's with fairly meticulous care.
  23. I am WILDLY excited about this game. I played the original(s) religiously when I was in college, and even built a few custom graphics mods. Tinkering with the game's rules made me appreciate it so much more than I would have ever expected, and is one of the huge factors which got me into teaching programming. My guys were carrying around rifles with underslung grenade launchers capable of launching HE or stun rounds. I sincerely hope that Firaxis will see that there is a great desire to have the tools to be able to customize certain aspects of the game. I played through the demo, and while it's really short, I enjoyed it a great deal. Of course, the whole first mission is practically on-rails for the newbies who never played the originals. I almost found myself ready to scream at my monitor when I was seeing some of the movement decisions which you're forced to carry out. I turned around and played the second mission my way and walked out with eight dead aliens and zero casualties. Hooah.
  24. Finally got one of these through the recent HLJ sale, and I couldn't be happier with it. One questions, though - when the FAST packs are attached in fighter mode, does the VF-11 have its tailfins extended or retracted?
  25. Broke down and ordered a VF-11B and the sound booster for the Fire Valkyrie. Those prices were too good to pass up.
