My YF-19 just landed. Can confirm broken head laser, can confirm the left vertical stabilizer falls off when you look at it harshly. As others have said, the laser is a clean break that Gorilla Glue will handle easily. The fin thing I think I’ll try to remedy by painting the mounting pegs with clear lacquer. That should stiffen the join.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Sildani replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
In acknowledgement of the DX YF-19 release, I’ll turn discussion over to a couple things that strike me about this old design: The arm cannon: what was its purpose, who thought it would be a good idea, and why didn’t we see it again if it was a good idea? And what weapons did it provide? The Super Parts: there really aren’t many. The legs have their typical shin parts, but then there’s just those two small bits that dangle off the shoulder in Battroid mode (what did those bits even do?). No mini-missile launchers, no chemical or hybrid booster rockets, no swathes of armor plating for the arms or chest. Why is that? -
Wouldn’t that be awfully fiddly?
-
I’d be tempted, since it’d give me access to the ADVANCE parts and I could go on an all-out orgy of weapons, armor parts, and booster rockets. YF-19 STAMPEED prototype!!

My 19’s left Japan!
-
Wow... well done tekering. I may well do that with mine, along with eliminating the “Sinsei Industry” stencils.
-
The transformation videos generally come out a week or thereabouts before the release date - the YF-19’s just came out a few days ago, even though Bandai pretty much just reused the footage from the VF-19 ADVANCE. I think you’ll have to wait until December.

You and I are in complete agreement, Sithlord. I’ll never tell people how to have fun or how to enjoy their things, but some people are so dang nit-picky I sometimes wonder if they can really enjoy any collectible at all. @onnasake: yeah, stop thinking of it as a toy. It really isn’t, it’s a collectible with all that the term implies. My offer for the missiles stands, BTW.
-
I’ll wonder about that when I get mine. @onnasake: if you want to sell those missiles and recoup a few bucks of your investment, PM me.
-
Anime-Export is shipping mine.

Gone at Anime-Export.

Speaking of... back in stock at NY for ¥31,600.

I’ll buy ‘em! PM’d.

SanityisOptional makes a 3D printer replacement missile pack on Shapeways. Look up the thread on the Workshop forum.

It can carry one pod on the centerline and one under each wing.

Yes, it’s removable.

Better separation, better target acquisition for the seeker head, allows a bit more movement for the VG wings... many possible reasons. Remember that those wings are also made from super strong Overtechnology unobtainium, so having those missiles where they are might not be such a problem.

Yeah... I’m looking forward to your potential fixed heels, sir.
-
Surprised Guam didn’t tip over and slide into the sea when she landed...

New thigh twist just beneath gerwalk joint. Moar tampo. Split opening canopy that’s true to the Plus animation. Blockier heels that may or may not be true to the Plus animation.
