  1. I've got this Artmic book... looks like I need to dig it out and take a look. Still I'm not sure this is that kit. What are those bumps on the bottom of the wings? I guess that depends on what you mean by 'sold'. There are a few Tleads or Treads that I don't think have ever stepped foot in Fance. Mine is one. Check out the picture here: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...mp;#entry337153 By the way, how are things going with getting that Mospeada art published? Any updates... Carl
  2. Here are some pictures of the VF-14. I don't think this is the VA-14 but I'm not 100% sure of the difference at the moment. I.H.P had other pictures of their variable VF-14 up here at one time but this link is now dead. http://member.nifty.ne.jp/musyuku/VF-14e.html The waybackmachine doesn't work on this site either. If other's have the pictures that were up at that site I'd be interested in getting them. Anyone ever see this I.H.P VF-14 kit for sale anywhere? I've personally never seen in on Yahoo Japan and that is saying something. I hope these pics help, Carl
  3. I see the end of the wing you mention (circled in red) but I'm not certain I see the hump. Are you talking about what I have circled in green? Is so I believe that is the part I have circled in the lower picture. There does appear to be some odd bumps on the bottom of the wings that I don't see on the 1/72 scale version. Is that what you are looking at? Carl P.S. I just added a few red lines to the above pictures. Note the two red lines on the top picture. I think this is the shoulder of the Legioss and note it appears to have a white side. If this were the 1/35 scale Legioss wouldn't this area be blue? The 1/72 scale Legioss has white sides in its shoulders so this has me thinking this may be the 1/72 scale Tread after all. I'd LOVE to be proved wrong though.
  4. Very very interesting... Is he also correct about this part? Is there any mention of this Tread in the Japanese text to the left of the picture? If so I'd be very interested to see what it has to say. Carl
  5. This might be the advertisement you are thinking of. But this is NOT to scale with the 1/35 Alpha. This is the same Lansey thread you see in the auction. Carl
  6. We are waiting in pins and needles. And let me second Mr March's statement. I'd love to see more of your SDF-1, mac666er is giving you a run for the money. Just eager to see more, Carl
  7. Do you KNOW that? That's exactly the comment I've seen elsewhere but I've seen nothing official confirming this. And to be honest I'm still not sure its even possible. Uxi stated "TNG was apparently recorded to film" but elsewhere I've seen others state much of it was recored on VHS. Honestly I don't know and I'm hoping for a HD version but I'm wondering if people just hope an HD version is on the way or if they actually know something. If any official statement has been released could you please point me to it? Thanks, Carl
  8. Me too. And I'm still not sure I want to pick up this set. If HD is coming that is what I'd want. And even if it isn't I think the price is likely to drop more. I'm also not very happy about the lack of extras that I've read about in some of the reviews. If anyone here is picking up this set I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks, Carl
  9. I searched for a Star Trek: The Next Generation thread and couldn't find one. Anyways, its related to the topic discussed here so I think this thread will do. I've been reading the reviews of the complete series release of TNG that are posted here: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Next-Gener...2107&sr=1-2 Reading that it sounds like many believe there is a high-def version of TNG in the works. Is that true? I'm wondering if that is even possible. TOS was filmed on 35mm film. I believe much of TNG was filmed on VHS. As such is there even a higher resolution master that one could go back to? I ask because I'm a big fan of TNG and I'm tempted to pick up this set but if a nicer release is in the works I might hold off. Any other TNG fans here? My search results make me wonder... Thanks, Carl
  10. Here are a couple renders I've made of this tank: Enjoy, Carl
  11. Great work... I always love to see the Legioss and Tread. However you aren't the first to substitue the Imai Legioss for the resin Legioss. I've seen this Japanese text translated before and this talks about using the Imai kit too as I recall. For the tread he used the Mono Craft kit but the Newtype kit is essentially a recast of the Mono Craft kit. To be technically correct both kits were made from the same master. So what you have is essentially the same thing. This is another picture which I think shows the Tread paired with the Imai Legioss. Thanks for sharing, Carl
  12. Is that question directed at me? To be honest I'm not sure what you are asking from. This is an animated gif threads of sorts isn't it. By download are you asking for software that allows one to make animated gifs? I use Animation Shop 3 and its faily strait forward. Carl
  13. Yes... I noticed that too. And to be honest I'm not sure why. The first has 120 frames and each frame is supposed to be shown for 0.05 seconds. The second has 60 frames and each frame is supposed to be shown for 0.1 seconds. If I do my math correctly they should have the same rotation rate. My guess is that the first gif can't change frames that fast for some reason but I'm not sure. Carl
  14. Done... It is now under 170 KB. Old avatar... New (and current) avatar... Is the quality reduction obvious? Carl
  15. Well with no free time I had to put this on hold for a while but I did finally manage to finish it. Is my current animated avatar to big file size wise? Just checking... Carl
  16. Interesting... if anyone has that link please share. Thanks, Carl
  17. http://www.ne.jp/asahi/mecha/keida/kanzen-...lt%26glaug.html Check out the above link. Can someone tell me what this is? I just came across this while searching for a Glaug picture for another post I was going to make. From that same link you can go here: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/mecha/keida/kanzen-page/valkyrie.html And see a Valkyrie I've never seen before. Note the forearms form the gun pod, the shoulder lasers, the odd head, etc. Thanks, Carl
  18. John, With all the Regult kits you've been making have you made any Glaug kits? I'd be very interesting in the variable Glaug. I assume variable or "build it in the mode you want" kits would be out of the question but maybe you'd consider something like one kit for each mode when you get to the point of tackling the Glaug kits. Thanks, Carl
  19. Hello, Ok, I made some headway this past weekend. All the work is here: http://www.wwwmwww.com/Hasegawa/ I think I did everything I wanted to except alot of digging with the way back machine. My most up-to-date excel file is here: http://www.wwwmwww.com/Hasegawa/hasegawa.xls I also took Grayson72's file and turned it into this: http://www.wwwmwww.com/Hasegawa/Model_list.xls Which contains most of the questions I'll repeat below. (1) I've saved all the pictures I could find on the current Hasegawa website and HLJ. They are available at the first link above in sub directories by model number. The pics I have of the event only kits are in the "other" directory. Many of the HLJ pics I'm sure are low quality gifs made from higher quality jpegs that I'm sure were on the Hasegawa website at some time or another. If anyone has these or other pictures please let me know. (2) Base of the info I have I assume its safe to say the moldel numbers 65701 through 65750 are their normal macross releases. The model numbers 65751 through 65800 are reserved for their limited macross releases. And it appears their event only releases don't have model numbers at all. The odd ball at the moment is model number 72103. Is there a 72101 or 72102? (3) I believe the list I have of the 21 normal releases is complete. Of the limited releases I'm missing model number 65767 and these 3 in a row (65772, 65773, and 65774). Based on this thread http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=9583 I'd say the 3 in a row are the 3 Hasegawa Promotional Posters mentioned? Anyone have these posters or pictures of them? Do they have part numbers? How much were they? (4) What is model number 65767? In might be one of the kits mentioned below... I just don't know. (5) Regarding the kit called "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1S "Metal Plated" Fighter Valkyrie, Limited Edition" in the Model_list file, I fould this quote from ChristopherB here at MacrossWorld, "The VF-1S non-Strike version is a different metal color (silver as opposed to champagne), and you could only get it via a mail away contest or something like that." Anyone here have this kit? Does it have a model number? Any details on the contest? How many were made? Dates for the contest? Etc... (6) Regarding the kit called "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1(A/S) "Metal Plated" Strike Fighter Valkyrie" in the Model_list file, I believe this is kit number 65754. But I see no mention of the VF-1A option on the box art. Is that correct? (7) Regarding the kit called "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-0S "Metal Plated" Fighter Valkyrie, Limited Edition" in the Model_list file, I fould this quote from ChristopherB here at MacrossWorld, "apparently you could only get this kit by winning a contest. Does anyone have more information about the origin?" Let me second ChristopherB's question and add... Does this kit have a model number? Anyone here own this kit or have any pictures of it? Etc... ( Regarding the kit called "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1(A/J) Super Fighter Valkyrie" in the Model_list file, Can 65704 be built as a VF-1J? Again I don't see mention of that option on the box. (9) Regarding the kit called "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1(A/S) Super/Strike Fighter Valkyrie Version 1 or Version 2"... Can these kits (I believe we are talking about model number 65705) be built as a VF-1A? I see no mention of that option on the box. Plus the note here in the model section at MacrossWorld states this kit can't be built as a Super only a Strike. Also this link http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=&a...st&p=194585 talks about the difference between version 1 and version 2. Do they have different box art? I'm still not sure how one would tell the difference if they saw one of these kits on eBay for example. (10) Regarding "Hasegawa 1/72 Macross Option Decal #04 "Minmay Guard Version 2" in the Model_list file I fould this quote from xstoys "The seperate decal set was only available as an exclusive during one of those Japan only conventions, C3 I believe." Anyone here have this set? Does it have a part number? If released at C3 what were the dates of the event? Price? Etc... (11) Regarding "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1(A/J/S) Battroid Valkyrie Upgrade Parts" in the Model_list file I found this quote from nemesis120 "There supposedly were some problems on the VF-1 Battroid Valkyrie kit (not the super or strike) that were corrected on the later ones, and Hasegawa released parts to correct this (supposedly event only parts)." Anyone here have this? I need pictures. Does it have a model or part number? What event were they released at? Price? Etc... (12) I have this kit "Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1(A/J/S) "Clear/Clear Event Only" Fighter Valkyrie" but I don't have any info on the event it was released at, or dates, or price? Were there any nice pictures of it released by Hasegawa? (13) I have the clear red/blue/green event only kits but again I don't have any info on the event they were released at, or dates, or price? Were there any nice pictures of these released by Hasegawa? (14) I also found this thread in my hunting http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=20366. Looks like ChristopherB had many of these kits and it looks like he sold them to another MacrossWorld member through ebay. Did anyone save the pictures that were posted for this auction? I can't tell exactly what was sold? Does anyone know who won the auction? I'd love to ask him (or her) for some pictures if they still have the stuff. (15) And as always if I missed anything PLEASE let me know. Thanks, Carl
  20. WOW!!! Do you have a website? I'd love to see some of your other builds, even the non-macross ones. And I just had what I think is a great idea for a website. Maybe Brinklink does this already, I'm not sure as I'm not too familiar with that website. But I think someone should set up a website for lego set designers were they could submit a parts list and the site could offer all those parts as a package. That way cool8or and others who provide this great service could get more exposure for their great designs and those who buy their plans can easily get the parts needed in one simple package and quicky know how much it would cost. Is there something like this out there already? If not there should be. Thank You, Carl
  21. Cool8or, Great build up of the Dragon II. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Carl
  22. In principle, I agree. Still a company like Yamato has alot more resources then a group the size of IHP or SHE and I certainly appreciate their efforts to do what they can. Being an engineer I enjoy just knowing that it can be done even if it can't stand up to the playable or perfect accuracy or realism tests. With regards to the 1/32 Legioss, a kit that I agree would top any IHP or SHE kit I've seen, I certainly understand your desire to not incure a financial loss. I also remember some legal issues came up... to put in nicely. Still with the recent stuff from IHP/Liquid Stone/Experten selling for over $1000 a kit and I've seen the rarer SHE kits also selling for over $1000 a kit, I would like to hope there is some way you could find to make a profit with this kit down the road. Still even if so I imagine that profit could more easily be made spending the same amout of time on less complex projects so I do understand your perspective. Still, I keep some measure of hope alive. Thanks for the response, Carl
  23. I agree with the spirit of that statement but as a fan if the IHP (Liquid Stone, Experten, or what ever else they are calling themselves today) and SHE (Studio Half Eye) I'm curious... have any of you released a variable kit yet. I'd include a kit that could be built in different modes if not truely variable. For example I'd certainly count this: http://www.macrossworld.com/mospeada/john_...ohn_moscato.htm if it were released. I'm not trying to open old wounds or anything but I'm honestly curious if any of you have released something I missed. My free time sure isn't what it used to be so I'm sure I've missed a few things. For those that have seen the IHP kits up close many of them wouldn't be too hard to beat in the quality department but I'm still a big fan of the engineering involved in actually making these kits variable. Just my 2 cents... Carl
  24. This keeps getting better and better. Thanks for sharing. Carl
  25. Ok... I got a little done but not quite as much as I wanted. I dug out my personal Hasegawa collection. I was working on this before TI laid me off and I never picked it up again. I may someday but I think this is a complete set of their first 13 Macross kits includind the 4 event only releases you see on the top right. I also started on a spreadsheet. I don't have Excel on my new PC yet and a friend pointed me to OpenOffice so this was created with that and saved in the Excel format. If anyone has trouble opening this with Excel let me know but with OpenOffice being free it was too good a deal to pass up. Anyways, this excel file at the moment just contains what is in the model section here at MacrossWorld. http://www.wwwmwww.com/Hasegawa/hasegawa.xls I still need to: (1) Go through Valkyrie's and Grayson72's files and add anything not already here. (2) Check HLJ.com and add anything they have. (3) The 4 event only realease I have aren't on this list yet and I'm sure there are others. I'll propably need help getting this part complete. (4) I also want to see what I can find on the Hasegawa web site. So far I've found this: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/zaikorisuto/VF-SZ.htm Does anyone know the site where they generally release the pictures of the completed kits at? I'd like to try to see if I could use TheWayBackMacine and see if I can get a set of pictures released by Hasegawa. For example, here is a link to a picture that is currently on the Hasegawa site: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/VF/25TH/VF-1-1.jpg I got this link from another thread here at MacrossWorld and I can't seem to find the link to it if I start from here: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/ If I can figure out how to find the above picture starting from the main page maybe I can find older pictures starting from here: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp Oh well, its a start. I'll post another update next weekend if not before. Carl P.S. Two quick questions about this site: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/zaikorisuto/VF-SZ.htm (1) Why do all the kits have 2 prices next to them? (2) What is that QG3 kit listed at the bottom? I see VF-1 in the description but its the only one listed without a picture of the box art.
