Nice pic of the trident. I've been thinking about picking up one of those, and debating between the dark blue and the clear. It's the Tamashii Stage Act Trident, available from lots of places.

Right on. I had the same thought, but was not aware the original Hi Metal pilots could be removed? And I don't have quite as many spare CF pilots as you do... Here's hoping Bandai will release a VF-1S TV version with both Roy and Hikaru pilots.

I agree. I've been thinking about tracking down a couple of the original Hi Metal super part sets they released in 2010. But a re-release in HMR would be fantastic, and likely cheaper than the secondary market for the originals.

sh9000, I'm really digging all of your customizations. It's really cool to see what can be done with these, to expand beyond what Bandai is giving us.

I thought I might pick up another CF with N-Y's sale, but looks like they are now out of stock. At that price I'm not surprised.

Agreed. 1A variants, 1D, 1S... It'd be great to see all the TV versions! While I'd love a VF-1D, I wonder if they might be more likely to release the DYRL VT-1, since they have at least already teased that.

It'd be great if they release a TV version VF-1S with both Roy and Hikaru pilots, like how they include 2 pilots with the CF 1A. Ideally it would also include TV super parts. Then you could change out for whatever specific TV version you wanted. I'd definitely buy that.

I agree the price seems a little steep on the missile effects, but have to admit they do look really cool. I assume they would work just as well for gerwalk mode?

I'm with you on TV versions, though M&M are close enough for me. I'd also be interested in a TV version of the Super VF-1S (with Hikaru pilot) and have wondered if they might do it. Considering it'd be really close to the VF-1S Roy, which has obviously already been re-released in HMR, that makes me doubtful. Then again, there have already been 3 versions of Hikaru's 1J... A re-release on the super parts would be great as well.

I think it's an interesting comparison of gradually tweaking the design for accuracy. They took the better sculpt and build of the HMR GBP on the left, went back towards the "TV white" of the original HM on the right (but not all the way), and nailed the stripes this time. Also seems they made the new head lasers a bit thicker for durability. Makes me glad I was able to snag one of the new versions, as it clearly seems to me like the best of the lot.

I'm glad to see that they did make Hikaru's 1J more true white than gray. However, it does seem to include the "wrong" super-parts fighter mode stand adapter...

Does anyone think Bandai will actually issue (or re-issue) a set of super parts for the HMR line? I'd like a set of them for my incoming CF, but the set they put out a few years ago seems to be either hard to come by and/or a little pricey.

By 1A, do you mean the CF? If so, that's disappointing. I was looking forward to having a correct adapter with my on-order CF 1A and Hikaru 1J to use with my other Hi Metals. I'd be curious to know if others have seen the same with theirs. I've tried using the one that came with my VF-1S in plain fighter mode, and as Jenius shows in his video, you can sort of make it work, but it's by no means ideal.

Hikaru's VF-1J is still (or again?) available on HLJ, if anyone's interested. I just snagged one, along with a CF -- after seeing all the photos here, I couldn't resist.

So I understand right -- the HMR Hikaru VF-1J is going to be more white than the gray of the HMR Hikaru DYRL VF-1S? In jvmacross's last photo above, it looks like this is the case. I'm just getting into this line, and I was on the fence about the HMR VF-1J (without GBP) due to the gray color. I already preordered Max and Miriya, but when it came to a VF-1S Roy, I actually found and bought an original HM VF-1S Roy due to more TV-accurate colors (and it just arrived today!).
