  1. Wow, so much '80s goodness going on there! Those were the days. Cool mashup... My brother in law would love that on a shirt.
  2. Armored CF 1A would be sweet. I have been wanting to get an armored VF-1, but missed the first one and can't find it for a reasonable price anywhere. I'm really hoping Bandai will end up releasing the armored 1A they teased a couple of months ago, which also resembles the Cavaliers to an extent.
  3. If you might be interested in getting rid of any TV pilots, PM me. I'd be especially interested in Hikaru. By the way, Spartan's back up on HLJ: http://hlj.com/product/BANN12853
  4. I think they also made it a point for the color of the circle on the FAST pack to match the color of the heat shield in battroid for the DYRL styles. Of course, you could also say the black circle on all of skull squadron would mimic the fighter tail fin black color on all. For me: Hikaru = red accents.
  5. Did you get the one that showed up on Mandarake today? Hope it comes with stickers unused. I got one from there last month and the Hikaru skull stickers were already applied. Speaking of skull areas, there are these white skull-only stickers available that might be helpful for customization: http://www.tfkingdom.com/skullsqd
  6. Either one of those I'd really like to see. I'm kinda doubtful Bandai would do it at this point, since they've already released most of the relevant TV models that would theoretically use them. If you could pull off the arm sculpting, that'd be impressive. How would you potentially do that?
  7. Somehow I suspect this would be more likely, due to economies of scale. The 1D also has a different chest plate as well, I believe, which adds further complications.
  8. Basically I point to an area of the image that should be "uncolored" (either white or light gray) and use the Info palette to see what the levels of CMYK or RGB are. If it's pure white or gray, they should be equal numbers. If it looks high in a particular channel (like the Blue numbers are too high, or like in this case the Magenta number was too high) I use the Curves to pull out just enough to bring the numbers in line. It's similar to what photographers do when they white balance an image. So a bit more technical than just a filter, but there may be a simple filter to do this. It's actually easier than I'm probably making it sound, and can explain further if you like. I've got a professional background in graphic design as well as photo and video editing.
  9. I think Bandai will give us other valks eventually down the road, but decided to give the destroids some love. I think it's kinda fun seeing what they will release each month. I'm personally more focused on VF-1 models, but am getting awfully tempted to maybe get a Tomahawk and Defender (assuming it gets made) to supplement the collection.
  10. That video does have a definite pink cast. I took the preview image into Photoshop and balanced the color so the background is a neutral gray, and here's the result. Probably still not a totally accurate representation of the product, though.
  11. Cool! First I thought the sign next to it might be saying preorders start on Jan 27, then I realized it was for the Mirage figure to the left. (And ¥5400 would have been a really good price on this, I think.)
  12. Precisely. It started for me with a single VF-1, then went to 3 for the different modes, then another 3, because you need to show all 3 modes both with and without super parts.
  13. By the way, I managed get the pilot out of my Hi Metal Focker 1S, and put the HMR TV Hikaru inside.
  14. Nice. Will the 1D be a CF as well? Or are you painting like the 1D in the first episode or SDFM? That's the future Max 1A on the right, I take it? Is that Focker 1S on the left scheduled for some customization?
  15. I'm probably going to pass on the Spartan and keep sticking to just Valkyries, mainly due to limited funds and display space. I think I also enjoy VFs more due to the transformations. However, the Spartan does look really cool and well done, and it would be tempting to get one, especially since Hikaru did pilot one at a certain point. Overall I am glad to see Bandai continuing the HMR line into 2017 with some diversity. Here's to more!
  16. He custom painted it from a Hikaru 1J head, as I recall.
  17. Cool. Looking forward to seeing how both turn out. I'm still trying to take out my DYRL Roy pilot. He appears to be glued in pretty good, and I don't want to break anything.
  18. sh9000, is that a TV pilot in the VF-1S? I remember you were talking about repainting a CF pilot as a TV Focker.
  19. Received my HMR Max 1J today from the pre-order I placed with JC Collectibles. Based on the higher price and the way their inventory didn't come in until about a week after all other places, I wonder if they may be selling second hand. Interesting, too... when it came in stock, their price online dropped by $10. When I mentioned this to them, they willingly took $10 off my invoice. Shipping from Hong Kong cost about $15 and took about a week. So overall a pretty good experience. FWIW, I noticed they are out of stock now on Max, but still have Hikaru's TV 1J available.
  20. Ha! There's a note at the bottom of that video: "Transformation requires a micronian."
  21. Where are you getting the heads from? Especially 1D, as no HMR exists (yet!)
  22. Seriously. Except even with the scale of that thing, you'd never fit all of yours on there!
  23. Looks like Toynami just announced new super versions of Hikaru, Max, and Milia. (Or in this case Rick, Max, and Miriya...) https://www.toynami.com/robotech_1-100_super_veritech_fighter.html Interesting that this would seem to follow the recent/upcoming release of the Jenius couple in the Hi Metal R line. While the quality may be nowhere near HMR, I think I do prefer the Toynami's color schemes here.
  24. Nice, jvmacross. That's the Toynami VF-1D, correct?
  25. I agree that Bandai should make more TV version VFs, and the 1S and 1D are at the top of my list also. As I mentioned before, I really hope a future TV 1S comes with both Focker and Hikaru pilots, as well as super parts. Additional 1A variants would be great. I'm curious to see how sh9000's custom TV 1A Max comes out...
