    Macross figures

I was going to refrain from comment since I know it is made by a fan, for fans and I respect that. The guy is a pure class act in that he had an issue with the original shipment, rejected the whole thing and had it redone and then offered to refund everyone partially for the delay. That being said, it is equivalent to a Happy Meal toy in terms of overall quality. It has universal shoulder joint, single elbow joint and ball joint wrists. The ball joint in the wrists started stretching when I tried to swap the hands out. Other than some hands, it comes with a HMR sized Hikaru figure on seat that I think is meant to work with the VF-1J in Battroid mode and a pipe weapon. Head is on a ball joint and legs have no articulation. People have commented on the shiny appearance of it. It’s not a great toy but I’ll say it doesn’t have to be because it looks the part and will go nicely in an HMR display.
  2. Got cell shaded Spidey. Love the concept and overall, it’s a good looking figure. But the magnets don’t hold for crap. I had to use the door handle to keep it from sliding down and the magnet in the hand is so loose it just slides right out so it is nearly useless. It may be hard to see in the pic but both heads have nearly identical bird turd marks in the same spot. Maybe it was on purpose for the effect but it just looks like bubbling paint defect or bird turd in person. Also hard to tell from the pic but joints are shiny while rest of the figure has a matte and sort of dry jizz looking coat over it. I also got this guy and it makes a Happy Meal Toy seem like premium collector’s quality but at least it looks the part...other than it has an opposite shiny wet appearance. So yeah, I like the look but this figure doesn’t feel as good as the regular Spidey release and it gives me that typical Mafex ick as a product.
  3. Agreed! I still think the Yamato 1/48 has the best transformation for what you get in all three modes. It’s simple but fun and quick like the OG chunky but looks way better. Mine aren’t yellowed either. Haha, I like this! Lol!
  4. No, they used the right blue and they need to make sure they change it for the production release.
  5. Haha! Yeah, I mean any artist who works for a corporation that owns their work has sold out. But selling out is often the goal of someone creating art. What better acknowledgement than for your art to sell out and have the most people possible appreciating it?
  6. Congrats on getting Gaiking! Great looking figure, have fun with the skirt though
  7. Yeah, they seem to be getting better overall but problems with Wolverine and Spidey sucks. I have a bunch of Batmen, Spiderverse and Superman all preordered so they better get their act straight, lol!
  8. That’s the best price you are going to get. MSRP I think is 8800 yen but you have to pay tax, which puts it over 9200 already without shipping. NY offers fantastic deals on TWE items.
  9. Just opened this! Most importantly, no breaks and it seems all pretty solid. I'm pretty happy with this thing and it has already turned me around as far as how I was feeling the other day about Transformers and MP in general. Looks great in both modes, which is one of the most important things to me and the transformation is pretty cool with no silly feeling of it being a forever folding until you get to the right shape type of transformation. There are some parts that seem extremely delicate and the joints are tight so my recommendation if you get a good one of these is to hold the parts as close to the joints as possible when moving them to reduce stress and chances of breaking. Other than that, I will go so far as to say this is the best MP Autobot I've ever handled.
  10. Happy New Year!
  11. I think 45 looks ok in bot mode except the feet, which look like an incomplete afterthought. Alt mode is a wreak, a complete gappy mess. Not very satisfying for a $100 figure. I watched some more reviews on Hound and that one actually looks really good except the floating head with ugly bar holding it in place from behind and the gun that doesn't clear the passenger or windshield. Those are pretty minor gripes though. I guess if mine isn't broken in the box, it could be a win for me. I don't want to deal with a broken Prime so maybe I'll just leave it in the box indefinitely. I don't even want to think about transforming that one ever anyways, lol.
  12. So, I opened this one. If I feel like this was a ripoff and pretty junky, should I even bother opening any of the other MPs including 44 and up?
  13. Wow, that does look much more real compared to anime look of the Arcadia. Very cool! Oh great, sucks to hear! I have yet to open any official MP Transformer since Sunstreaker and I still haven’t even transformed that or Megatron. It sounds like I’m just throwing money away to TakaraTomy. I think my Hound just got delivered this morning but I haven’t checked what’s in the box yet. Maybe I should just sell them all without opening so I can avoid finding out if they are defective, lol.
  14. I like them both. The SHF obviously has better joints, articulation and accessories (not all shown) but the Carbonized paint job on the BS is cool. But yeah, I can’t imagine someone saying the BS is better than SHF especially when comparing the regular BS version.
  15. Oh that makes a lot more sense. The Yeti stands are solid AF so I never heard anyone say they thought one would break from holding several Valks, let alone one. I was imagining how heavy could those hollow parts be?
