So it seems across the board so far that they messed that area up. You got it the worst so far. Again, seems like an insignificant area to worry about.

Yeah, it was one of the first things I noticed since my HMRs are mostly pristine but didn't worry about it since it is unnoticeable unless you are inspecting the crotch closely. I like mechs, but not that much or in that way.

Interesting. Mine seems to have some ugly mold flashing on the side like Sabuto's but I don't think it's affecting the functionality of the peg hole. Yours is completely warped so it is unusable? Either way it seems like a common "defect" in that area.

Speaking of waterslides and stickers, has anyone tried simply photocopying a sticker sheet onto a decal sheet to create waterslides using a good printer? I'm thinking about trying since I've had good experience with homemade waterslides. Mine are all printed from files though.

How do you know "they" are all the same people? Is there evidence that there is only one group making Macross KOs? Even if it was the same group, there are way to many factors involved to say the quality of one product guarantees all other products will share the same quality for most companies producing anything. Especially when the basis is on one sample of one product. I kind of hope the quality ends up being terrible so I don't even have to consider getting any of them. If they end up as good as or better than official, they will be extremely tempting.

I believe you have some law background so this is good info. As you pointed out, "the damage to HG is deemed negligible". So negligible stealing isn't stealing, right?

Haha, yeah...Chinese manufacturers must abide by international law or else they are thieves, but then none of that applies to other international licensing laws just because. OK, whatever. Again, I don't really care and just wanted to continue what was a fun and interesting conversation with the main goal of reducing the finger pointing and assumptions about other people but either I'll be called a thief for being ok with KOs or a loony for thinking if you want to use moral and legal arguments, that it goes both and every other way. Once again, I'm done and will continue to wait for reports on how these KOs turn out.

Actually, I'm just trying to say people shouldn't be judging other people and I'm just interested in the final product but I see now that it's going to happen one way or another so it's all good. NBD.

Stealing is stealing. Legal technicalities...whatever. Again, I don't care other than to point out there is no need to talk about who is morally better than who in this thread. If the KO turns out good and you want to buy it, go for it! If you won't buy kos under any circumstance, fine but don't need to act like it's because you are more moral than others. That is all.

It was just a point to make with the people who say "stealing is stealing" and judging the ko manufacturers. Main point is I don't care about any of it. Just the best product for my money and there is no need to bring morals and laws into this because there are no morals or laws that people don't break.

I'm not a lawyer either but my understanding is that HG has all international rights to Macross so anything outside of Japan must be approved by HG. The products we are all buying are for the Japanese market only.

But it's technically illegal to sell the products to anyone outside of Japan according to international law. So in a way, the Japanese retailers who sell Macross items to anyone outside Japan, along with the people buying them are breaking international law and "stealing". But Big West has made no legal move to prove it. So HG is breaking Japanese law, stealing from BW, BW is breaking International law and stealing from HG. I agree and just continuing the interesting discussion while we all wait to see the final products. Mainly, just pointing out that it's not so clear cut to claim to be "moral" and call others thieves so quickly. To me, almost all businesses are criminal to the sustainability of human life so you will never see me calling someone else as being immoral for the choices they make in the business world unless I'm just stating the obvious without judgement.

Back to the discussion of the validity of these items... For those who claim the moral high horse stance, does that mean you do not buy Macross items outside of Japan that are not licensed by HG? Because if you do, you are stealing from HG and theft is theft, stealing is stealing, right? Just another reason why I don't take legal crutches seriously.

If you are able to get one, transfer your credit card balances to another one that has 0% interest or anything lower than what you currently pay. Those promotions usually last a year or more so it buys you some time without more interest to pay. Then, start going through your stuff and sell what you don't think will bother you as much first. Also, save your money and use it to pay off those debts. Good luck!
