  1. Every time I open the toys forum all I think about is Space & money, space and money, will I ever have enough. I can’t believe I could find anything wrong with this fire hose stream of Macross products but the cost of a having a complete collection is getting prohibitive. I still will probably end up getting both the Max & Millia's 1/48’s however it will not be any time soon. When I do get them I’ll keep the 1/48’s in Battroid and the 1/60 versions next to them in fighter mode.
  2. I don’t know if this is the right forum to place this topic but I have some questions about the Macross World Book Sale. I can’t remember who was in charge of the “Book Sale” but I would like to know if there will ever be another one; or if anyone else is interested in offering another book sale.
  3. Corgi don't make an F-14 in their 1/72 scale Aviation Archive series. Graham Corgi is going to be releasing a 1-64 scale F-14D from VF-2 Bounty Hunters. The Tomcat will sell for around $23.99 and will be part of Corgi’s new Tactical strike series. This new series will also include two helicopters a AH-6J “Little Bird”, & a AH-64D Apache Longbow; unfortunately the AH-64 looks really bad. Several ground vehicles will also be included such as two versions of the M1A1 Abrams Tank, a M2A2 Bradley, as well as two version of the hummer.
  4. I think you need to clarify which Armour F-14 you are talking about. There is a 1/100 scale which has its wings fixed in the extended position. The 1/48 scale Armour F-14 has it wings in the retracted position and features a much higher level of detail and sells for $90.00. The enamel paint you talking about is not applied to all Armour planes, the planes that do have that finish are suppose to. Many camo’s in the Navy during the 70’s had a very high gloss paint job, Armours VF-84 F-14A reflects that peroid of time. I will be the first to say that I don’t know everything about die-cast planes, however I have seen in person just about every military die-cast plane made I the last six years. My own collection consists of one or more of each type of die-cast military manufacture. Armour: six 1/48 jets (F-4, F-14, F-15, F-18), & three 1/48 warbirds (P-51D, Bf-109, F4U) Dragon: two F-16’s one F-18C Gain Corp: Su-34 Corgi: two F-4’s Air Command: F-18C Model Power: 35 jets & war birds

  6. For anyone who is interested in what a real world F-14 looks like with an AIM-120 here is a picture of a test flight with an AMRAAM.
  7. Here's a pic of the next set of figures
  8. For those of you who were not able to see the video of the DHL cargo jet SAM attack here are some amazing vid caps of the event.
  9. I may be wrong, however the missiles in the armour on the arm seems to narrow in comparison to the total width of the arm armour.
  10. Thanks for the slide card info everyone, it really helped out.
  11. F-14A Pilot Cockpit on top & D-model on bottom
  12. dejr8bud where did you buy your Macross Zero Ep 3 HK DVD Boot?
  13. I would like to get a dummy proof description of how to use "slide card" in a US PS2. I have seen some posts about using "slide cards" however I have never fully understood what I need to do. I know that the "slide card" uses the same Swap Magic Boot Disc's that you need for a mod chip and the advantage of the "slide card" is that you don't have to open the case and void your warranty; the I thing I don't get with what you do with the other part which I circled in the picture below. Since the info on the slide card says you do not have to break the warranty sicker by opening the systems case, do you to insert the circled item into the controller in the same way that you insert a memory card?
  14. Has anyone purchased a HK Boot of Macross Zero Ep3, and if so where did you buy it?
  15. Just for reference this is a vid cap of Ryoko from the original Area 88.
  16. Some characters such as Rocky the reporter still looks very close to his original design.
  17. I could not be happier about the news that a "new" Area 88 is going to be made. I have loved Area 88 even before I really knew what it was. Over the years I have made it my mission to collect everything I can that has to do with Area 88, this will make a great addition to my collection. It is nice to see that although they have updated the animation they still kept a fairly old school style for the character design; however some characters have received more a radical update than others. The new Shin now looks like Roy Fokker with his new blonde hair do.
  18. These pictures show how bad the damage was and just how lucky the pilots were to be able to get the plane back down in one piece. Since last May there have been nine known missile attacks on aircraft in Iraq. Aircraft landing at Baghdad airport minimize their vulnerability to missile attacks by making sharp turns at 15,000 feet and "cork-screwing" down before they make their landing. This evasive maneuver, however, is not possible on take off. The 22.7 pound Russian built SAM-14 (or Strela 3) is the successor to the SAM 7 (Strela). More accurate and reliable than the SAM 7, it has a larger warhead (6.5 pounds, twice that of the SAM 7). The SAM 14 has a maximum range of 4.5 kilometers and a max altitude of 9,900 feet. For best results against a jet aircraft, targets should be within two kilometers or less. The seeker of the SAM 14 was designed to go after the smaller engines on slower moving helicopters, which can be hit at four kilometers out. When the A300 was hit, it was flying at about 8,000 feet. The warhead apparently exploded in the wing, setting fire to the fuel tanks inside the wing resulting in a complete failure of the planes hydraulic system.
  19. fernandofaria great picture now I can only hope that gaincorp makes an Su-47 to go with their Su-27 Su-34 & Su-35.
  20. Just out of curiosity if you have not been able to find a store that has Gaincorp planes how did you find out about their products? I have been collecting die-cast planes for several years, and have everything from 1/100 scale Model Power planes to 1/48 Armour Jets. Just incase anyone needs info about were to go I listed some of the better sites and a bit of info about each one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.petescollectibles.com/ Line's they carry: 1st Gear, SpecCast, Ertl, Marushin (Japanese WWII), Corgi, Dragon, & Armour Pete's offers the best e-mail updates of any site on the net. Due to these updates I saw the pre-view pic's of the Dragon Wings BF-109 & F-15E months before they ever hit the net This offers free shipping for any order of $100 or more. Pete's Dragon Wings prices vary more than some other sites but their pre-order prices can't be beat. Their Dragon F-16's sale for between $26.50 & 31.95. Most of their Dragon Warbirds sale for $26.50, however you can pre-order the BF-109 for $19.95. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.flyingmule.com/ Line's they carry: Corgi, Dragon, Gaincorp, Matchbox, Model Power, Sun Star AKA Air Command This is a great site; they carry almost everything, except the Gaincorp F/A-22 unfortunately. However they due normally stock both the Russian & Chinese Air Force Su-27's, as well as the Su-34 & Su-35 for $49.00. Flying Mule also has great prices on their Dragon Wings 1/72 planes F-16's $24.99-$27.99 FA-18's $34.99 Warbirds (Zero's & P-51's) $24.99 For order of $100 or more shipping is free. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.wingsandwheels.co.uk/ Line's they carry: Air Command, Armour, Corgi, Dragon, Gaincorp, & many more Wings and Wheels is the only site I know of that has committed to carrying the Gaincorp F/A-22, you can pre-order it for 34.99 pounds, 50.12 Euro or $59.05. Shipping can be high since they are located in England, however they have a great selection and even better custom service. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.aikensairplanes.com Line's they carry: Air Command, Armour, Corgi, Dragon, & many more This is the only site I know of that offers pre-order for the new Air Command F-16's (Wild Weasel, Tiger Meet, USN & USMC Top Gun Aggressors, USAF Europe Etc.) Dragon: F-16 $26.95 & $29.95, F/A-18 $32.95, P-51D $22.95 & $26.95, Zero $24.95 $26.95 & $32.95 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.airplane-world.addr.com/ Tristar Airplane World is a great site for not only military planes but they have a wide selection of civil aircraft as well. This is a very well know site and as a result many of their planes are sold out especially the Dragon 1/72's. Dragon Wing prices: F-16 $26.90-$27.90 F-18 $31.95, Warbirds $22.90-$26.90 Warbird Pre-orders $18.90) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.snafudiecast.com/ Line's they carry: Corgi, Dragon, Model Power, Sun Star AKA Air Command I have not dealt with this site personally and their prices are usually average, however they do have their Air Command F-16 T-Bird & F-117's on sale for $24.95.
  21. Italeri has a 1/48 and a 1/72 F/A-22 model currently out. Testors has a re-packaged Italeri 1/48. Revell-Germany also has a F/A-22 1/48 (supposedly with LANTRIN pods???) and a 1/72 model out. Revell-Monogram has a F/A-22 1/48 coming out (probably the Revell-Germany kit repackaged, the two companies routinely use each other's molds). I believe that Hasegawa is going to have at least one, I'm not sure what scales they will be using. I still build models, so I keep as current as possible. If you are not any good at making models you can always purchase the gaincorp 1/72 die-cast F/A-22.
