New Robotech Blu-ray coming soon from Funimation
TangledThorns replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not this fan. Learned my lesson after VHS and then DVDs, no more. But yeah, I'm sure there are fans who keep paying for whatever when it comes to Robotech. Sad. That being said I now entertain myself by trolling HG's Robotech posts on Facebook, lol. -
Should HALO really be a series tho? Seems more geared to a movie.

Aw man. Dean had such character in his roles. I remember his last word in the Battlestar Galactica finale was FRAK! RIP.

I was about ten years old when I saw Lynch's DUNE and there was so many scenes that was just creepy AF plus it had that great line of 'He who controls the SPICE, controls the universe!' This is one of them The new DUNE was visually pretty but doesn't imprint on my brain like the original did. Hopefully part 2 will improve on this.

Neflix's live action Cowboy Bebop
TangledThorns replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just started watching the Cowboy Bebop anime for the first time. It's well animated and fun but don't see why people think its the best. Will that realization come the further I get in the series?- 303 replies

OK... so who do you think they'll cast as the EMPEROR or Feyd in part 2? I bet they'll cast someone non-white for the Emperor but not in a woke sense. Obviously an older actor so Laurence Fishburne or Idris Elba would be my top guesses. Feyd could be any pretty boy but he would have to be someone well known and who can pull off a villain too. Honestly can't think of one right now, maybe Fionn Whitehead?

Today I re-watched DUNE (1984) first and then DUNE (2021). Interesting experience. Lynch's DUNE still holds it creep factor all these years while the new DUNE seems more modern of course but lacks some character. That being said Lynch's DUNE soundtrack is still stuck playing in my head, lol.

Ok, watched it last night. It was well made but I'm kinda torn as Lynch is one of my favorite directors and his version had a more memorable soundtrack and in classic Lynch fashion he made the Harkonnen creep AF, especially with their heart plugs and lack of skin care haha. Also, didn't see much mention of the Navigators either. Another creepy element from Lynch's movie as well. Now, I never read the books so only watched the original DUNE movie and the SCI-FI mini-series so I may be out of the loop on what we're meant to see, lol.

Just watched NBK for the first time in decades too. Very 1990s but very wild and violent movie for its time. As for DUNE I'm waiting on a friend to heal up from surgery before I see the movie as we planned on seeing it together. I'm a patient man, lol.

Finished MIDNIGHT MASS on Netflix last night. Really good mini-series that I suspect people will love to dissect in it's dialogue and subplots. ET's Henry Thomas is in it and seeing him age makes me feel old, lol. -
I think this film will be compared to TDK the most which is a shame as I think an Afflek film would have been more... interesting.
