  1. Judgement Day was going to happen eventually. It was inevitable in that way. HOW or WHEN it would happen, however, was not written in stone. It could be postponed, like the events of Terminator 2 did, but it could not be entirely stopped. Human nature would've led to the creation of a military AI eventually no matter how many setbacks.
  2. That appears to be a PS-2 styled multimedia splitter. Lets you hook up several game systems, a DVD player, etc to it and run it all to one set of A/V inputs.
  3. I've played the RTS game. Alien vs Predator: Extinction quite fun, but limited. The built-in cheat menu makes things fun, but the lack of a skirmish mode means you'll grow bored once you beat the 3 7-level campaigns(Predator, Marine, and Alien). Play mechanics are simple, with resource managment limited to collecting points by killing things. You then spend those points to purchase units(or evolve units/eggs with the Aliens) and purchase upgrades for your units. There's a decent enough balance of units, although by the end of the game you'll find yourself not using the basic ones much. If you can find it for $20-$25, go for it.. but don't pay full price for it if you can avoid it. I will say one thing: They needed to make this for the PC. That would have infinitely improved the replayability due to the addition of multiplayer and skirmish modes. It's fine as is, but could've been MUCH greater.
  4. They were, presumably, running near the day/night line. Where the tempurature would be higher, but not too hot.. They didn't really explain that well, but you do see a cut back of them pretty much hauling ass not very far from it.. They didn't survive an entire night, either. They ducked into the shadow of the mountain they were climbing. The 'second sunrise' was just the sun getting high enough in the sky to get around it. I'm also going to assume it takes the full brunt of the sunlight, and a few moments of exposure, to get the tempurature up to 700*F, so being at the very edge of it soaked in water may well of been enough.
  5. How can you have poor expectations for something you've barely seen? Not every movie is a cinematic masterpiece. Some are simply FUN. While this may not be a cinematic masterpiece and win Oscars left and right, but by the looks of it it will be fun. What's so WRONG about the trailer to make you think its utter trash? And no, the heavy metal doesn't count. Robocop had the freakin' Terminator theme for its trailer, and I, Robot is using the Smith/Neo fight music from Revolution. Music in a trailer is not always the music in the movie.
  6. ...Am I the only one who liked Resident Evil? Soldier was fun, too. The preview looks just fine to me, and given the clips they showed the heavymetal soundtrack made sense. There's not any better genre of music for screaming "LOOK AT ALL THIS ACTION!" then heavymetal, so they used it for the clips they had. Really, guys, atleast wait until the movie is out and you've seen it, either in the theater or via bootleg/download, to say it sucks. The original trailer for Aliens looked like ass, the trailer for Robocop looked like ass, the trailer for Independance Day actually looked good... The trailer is not a good judge of the movie. It's, tops, 2 minutes, maybe 3, of footage slapped together by marketing to advertise a movie. I think the movie will be just fine, you know why? It's a SUMMER ACTION MOVIE. It's not supposed to be overly complex in plot, or based heavily in intelligence. The first among you who says Predator was anything more then the same deserves a slapping. Alien was a different genre(thriller/horror), Aliens was a good summer action movie, Alien3 went back to the thriller/horror genre, and Alien: Ressurection was... acceptable action. Neither of these franchises is the pinacle of intelligent cinema that several of you seem to hold them up to. The wrist blades might be a bit silly, yes, but they do look pretty damn cool.. The idea of discreding the Predators of the two movies is rude, but who has to pay attention to what he spouts that is not in the script and movie? He was hyping the movie. Until someone goes 'Wow, those other two creatures that only two people saw and undoubtedly never told us about are definitely pussies compared to these new creatures that are definitely like them!' IN THE MOVIE ITSELF, where would that little bit of hype from the director come into play? ..and I'm not sure where to go from here, so I think I'll just shut up now.
  7. Not to mention a guarantee this thread will get shut down.
  8. Never said they did. I specified the armor pack for sale seperately was the DYRL style, while the TV-valks came with the TV-style armor.
  9. While it doesn't pertain to the thread itself.. I LUST for that movie on DVD, Graham. =P About the only movie Mel Brooks film that hasn't come out on DVD..
  10. I THINK this is all of them... Do You Remember Love?: VF-1A Hikaru Max VF-1S Fokker Hikaru TV VF-1J Hikaru(With and without Super Armor parts) Millia(With armor only) Max(With armor only) Misc VF-1A 'low visibility' valkyrie. Limited edition. Super/Strike Armor Pack. Contains FAST Pack parts, with option for strike cannon or missile pack. These are DYRL style, while the TV style valks come with TV-style armor(difference is in the arm armor and color) It's unknown what will come out in the future.
  11. If you liked Z.O.E: Idolo, then there's also Z.O.E.: Dolores, i. It's a 26 episode(I think) sequel of sorts to Idolo that takes place between the first and second game. It's for action, adventure, and comedic elements and is, overall, well animated. Idolo ties into it further on in the series, but I won't say how 'less I spoil it. All 6 volumes of it are now avaible, too, so you won't have to wait for it to get finished up.
  12. For the record, I did find a Jack Archer YF-1R for $20 at gamestop.. and, well, it looks nice in some regards, but it sure as hell is inferior to the 1/48s(I don't own any 1/60s, so I can't compare). Amusingly, one of the nubs on the swingbars is shorter then the one on the other side, so the.. left leg, I think, doesn't lock into place very well. It's not BAD, but it isn't worth $80, either.. or $60 for that matter.
  13. I need part R-L2, the right 'thigh', for the 1/48th VF-1J Hikaru Ichijo. I'd really perfer to just replace the entire leg(I'm uneasy with taking it apart) but will make do with just that part. It cracked along the lower, inside edge of the intake area all the way inward and slightly up to where the 'hip' connects. If you can help please leave ne a private message, will pay reasonible price or trade the part if you have a use for it.
  14. I'd imagine the 1/144th was even worse, given it was the original crap-ass Tallgeese kit with another sprue or two of parts..
  15. Does anyone have a 1/48th VF-1J Hikaru right leg for trade/sell? The intake area cracked on the inside edge, outward from where the hip-block slides into the intake piece. This thing has never been dropped, never mistreated.. barely transformed, infact. I went to transform it one day from fighter to Battloid and noticed the crack.. attempts to repair it with super glue have failed. Will try to provide a picture if someone needs one, but its the right leg(has 'R' on the inside of the intake..).
  16. No suprise. The idea for the tungsten rod weapon has been around since atleast the 50s, likely earlier.
  17. I don't think anyone who has seen the show, or End of Evangelion, would need help forming such a list on their own..
  18. In addition to pretty much everything that's been said, I nominate most, if not all, of the Freespace/Freespace 2 campaigns. Can't believe no one mentioned those yet..
  19. A-KEEP already stopped its subbing. Thank gawd I got ep 31, it had come out only the day before the announcement.. But it ended on a cliffhanger. Must.. know how.. it continues..
  20. I got my Millia VF-1J today and it's just fine from what I can tell. Paint is fine, joints are tight.. The seat is tilted to one side just slightly, but I don't care enough for it to be an issue with me. The thigh swivels are REALLY tight, but again it's not enough of an issue to annot me.. I'd rather them be tight then loose.
  21. I long for an MSiA Strike Gundam IWSP..
  22. Aaaaarg! I'd been downloading A-KEEP's fansubs of it. Now it'll take me over half a year to find out what happens after ep 31.. ;.;!!! Atleast I got ep 31 before it was taken down..
  23. Camel Spiders(they ARE Whip Scorpions, as someone pointed out) are real.. but they're greatly exaggerated. They can run 8-10 MPH, unlike the 25(!!) mph some claim they can. =P They WILL chase people, though, but not to eat them. They hide in the shade during the day, and will infact hide in the shadow of humans.. and chase that shadow if it starts moving. I've heard its a sort of hazing activity for the troops in Iraq to get a camel spider into the shadow of someone new and watch the fun that results, but given I heard that on fark.com it could be wrong. c.c (edited to clarify)
  24. o___o [FightClub]I want to have your abortion[/FightClub] I had a similar problem of my parents insisting on letting the little beasts into my room. In my case, being able to simply lock both doors into my room solved THAT problem quite nicely once I switched the lock on the door heading into the shared master bathroom. "They want to see your toys and lizards(I have 5 leopard geckos)!" *Peeeers to front door... peeeers to back door* "Good luck with that.." >.>
