  1. It's... the Blitz Gundam. It's accessories are limited, as expected, but it does come with a full set of hands (including a left trigger hand despite having no use for one..), the shield weapons system, 3 seperate rods, a seperating beam saber, the beam saber blade, as well as its grappling shield-anchor thing with closed and open claw pieces. Good jointing all around, including a seperate ankle piece joining calve and foot, hinged shoulders for limited forward/back motion, double jointed knees and elbows, a balljointed waist with rather limited motion due to the hip armor, wide-swinging thighs, and a very mobile head. Late note: Forgot to note that it has a plastic rod to connect the grappling weapon to the forearm for 'firing' poses.. although the rod isn't strong enough and sags from the weight a bit. =\
  2. The Grimlock Rei and Asuka figure set is now available domestically at Suncoast. Unsure of price, but I saw 3 clearly marked boxes at Suncoast a few days ago.. o.O I'm guessing Diamond is distrbuting them?
  3. Plus, it transforms into a box for convenient storage!
  4. An MG The-O would be so heavy that you could club baby seals to death and stun children with it. o_o
  5. I think it doesn't have beam sabers by default because it's not meant to go into combat without one of the weapons packs. Two of the three have melee beam weapons (Force's standard beam sabers, Sword's anti-ship beam sabers and beam boomerangs, which also seem intended to double as dagger-ish weapons) and the third (Blast) isn't meant to get into melee range anyways. The daggers are most likely just intended as an absolute last-ditch weapon for when they've drained the primary battery, thus losing the power to the weapons packs. That's all Kira ever used HIS for, that I know of.
  6. Ah, I was actually thinking of the Advanced-MSiA Freedom Gundam, which has actually been out for quite a while, but by all accounts is not that great. It doesn't come with any beam saber blades Graham Trust me... it isn't. I have it, although its now in its box and will remain there for all eternity. Poorly articulated, poorly detailed, no blades for its sabers (hell, no holes so you could put OTHER blades in, either), and weak wings that spent more time falling apart then properly posing. The ADMSiA Freedom Gundam makes baby jebus cry.
  7. Was kind of afraid of that. Hopefully the ABS piece does as you say and braces it. Gaia has a rather large sniper-rifle styled beam rifle, and Blitz has that big weapon system for its right arm so I'm hoping they will be ABS or mostly AMS. Otherwise I'll have to ring up Bob and get some information on Enzyte.
  8. Thanks for posting the link to the review. I picked up a Sword Impulse MSiA yesterday, but still couldn't find a Force Impulse anywhere as all the shops in HK had sold out, so I broke down and ordered one from HLJ. Happy to report no real QC problems with either my Sword or Blast Impulse MSiA. The Blast Impulse has a bit of a balance broblem with those big guns and I wish the figures had more sideways ankle articulation, but those are my only gripes. I'm quite impressed that Bandai has started using some screws on these toys. Overall I'm very happy with these toys (this from someone who swore he would never buy another MSiA again). Can't wait for the Destiny ZAKU MSiA toys coming out next year, they look so nice. Hopefully, the GQ line will prove popular and we will see some GQ Destiny Zakus. That would be even nicer than MSiA. Graham Welcome! I'm rather impressed with Sword Impulse if only for the one MAJOR improvement over the Sword Strike Gundam.. or, hell, MOST MSiA's. Its large beams and swords are made of hard material so they won't droop under their own weight. How is Blust/Blast (Is this like the Aile/Air thing Strike's packs had?), anyways? I don't plan on getting it, but I am curious as to what material they made its big guns out of. I plan on picking up Blitz and Gaia, so I'm curious if they learned their lesson and are making the heavier, warpage-prone weapons out of the harder material in general now or if Sword Impulse is the exception.
  9. I actually wanted to buy the Sword & Force Impulse MSiAs yesterday, but couldn't find them, so I picked up the Blast (Blust?) Impulse MSiA instead. Happy to report no QC problems. Graham I posted a review of those pretties earlier, if you didn't see it the first time and want to see how nice the Force and Sword Impulses are. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=11519
  10. Shame that Nexus jumped the shark by getting rid of OP-Intensify and punishing you for boosting, though. I might rent it eventually, but I sure as hell won't blindly buy it like I did the last 8 games. Who ever used OP-intensify anyway? I never have...seemed kinda cheap to me. Even when just playing against the AI/missions I only used it if I couldn't get a secret part and needed an unfair edge. But that's just it. It was a part you could use or leave behind.. hell, you needed to go out of your way and preform specific tasks to even unlock its abilities. It's existed, either as Human+ or OP-Intensify since the first game. Why the hell should a bunch of people whining that it 'unbalances the game' despite them NEVER BEING FORCED TO USE IT. They did not have to use it, they did not have to face it in human versus (just bitchslap the fool if he refuses to fight without it), etc. Yet FROM SOFTWARE took it out just to satisfy the whiners. Hell, it's not like it changed the 1-player game.. the AI players STILL have Human+/OP-I abilities.

  13. Edward sounds okay. Al is.. odd. It almost makes sense, due to how Al is, but its still odd.
  14. I got the Christmas figures of Rei and Asuka late last week. Can't take pictures unfortunately, parents went on vacation and took the digital camera with them! They're HUGE though. They are at eye-level with the chest of my MG Freedom Gundam when its on its flight stand! Paint detail looks good, they're a bit... leggy, but anime females tend to be, so I guess that's keeping to the source material.
  15. For those who'd like to download it, here's a link directly to it. Direct link to the video.
  16. Yeah, I loved the AC series up to Silent Line, but Nexus jumped the shark. The already frustrating adventure in having to beat preformance goals to get secret parts, already a pain in the ass in Silent Line, got even more excessive in Nexus. The reload thing I could tolerate and understand, but the nerfing of boosting/flying, and outright removal of OP-Intensify (formerly Human Plus) that had been in the game since day one sealed it for me.
  17. Yes, I suffer horribly from dust Close, by the way. It's actually the 90 gallon tank for my bearded dragon. ;D
  18. Mouse is in a cubby-hole on the right where you'd of put paper for one of those old beltfed printers (this is an oooold desk), keyboard goes on the pillows below the desk and is in my lap when I use it. The-O is decently large, too. Very hefty and beefy. It's a damn shame his beam saber blades are so flimsy, or I'd of had him weilding 3 or 4 of 'em.
  19. I don't have a close up, but if you go look /here/ http://pics.livejournal.com/atheonyirh/pic/00001qh7/g1 and peek at the bottom left corner of my monitor, you can see The-O beside the v2 GP02a, GP01, Qubeley, and Zeta Gundam.. with Strike Rogue and the rest of the Strike Family to its right.
  20. The sword's barely bent at all. It's fine. The best place I've found for reviews is waist-joint.com, really. Private BBS, need to sign up to access, not advertised.. Its main benefit is being able to filter out posts you're not interested in, as everything is catagorized. I agree that the Qubeley is nice. I have mine in a doll stand so it can be posed as if its flying. The-O Is good, but its beam saber blades are too flacid. =\ They droop under their own weight (the Qubeley has this same problem), so beware of that. Astray Red Frame is nice overall. Very posable, nicely detailed (only detail lacking is the coloring on the hands, sadly) and the sword is VERY nice.
