Being one of the few asian directors around, my sister got to chat with Miyazaki when Mononoke premiered at the NY Film Festival- she got his autograph for me on the playbill. All the other folks I've personally seen in NYC are normal mortal celebs.

That's great that all these voice actors are willing to fandub - hey, voice actors have to eat too, right? But this shows that they really enjoy the material. This dub may not get as famous as "I'm the Juggernaut" but the quality is obviously far better!

Just watched it and it is Over the Top! I'm really enjoying this series now - started slow but it's just epic now, but still with "human" elements keeping the drama together. Very much like, dare I say it - the original Gunbuster? SPOILER DISCUSSION!! No I don't think Nono is in any way patterned after Jung. Even though Jung might have still been alive by the time Buster Machine #7 was created, I don't think Nono acts anything like Jung. The odd thing is tho, Nono DOES seem to have first-hand memories of Noriko, which COULD have been implanted from someone's memories of Noriko. But was it Jung's? Who knows...

I'm so happy to still see my 1/55 Chunky Monkey Minmay Guard up there - I still treasure it, in fact it's the last toy I have left in the house that my kid hasn't destroyed - it's 7 feet up on top of a shelf, muahaha!

SPOILER ALERT! Ok, so if we now have Buster Machine #7, we know that there are three of them we don't know about between Buster Machine #3 and #7 - interesting to find out why there was such a HUGE upgrade from 3 to 7, but a big downgrade from 7 to the Dix-Neuf (#19?) with the more recent ones being relatively at that level. I think we need a side story! And what happened to the Gunbuster Corps, and why do they look so alien, and why did #7 lose its memory, etc etc? A lot of loose ends to tie up here!

Episode 4 was great! Finally, this series is up to snuff! Probably the best thrill in anime within the past year.

Episode 4 “Lynn Minmay†(February 2009) The song that Minmay hums while showering was not made for Macross itself, but was written and composed by Minmay's voice actress herself. “Marin†can be found on “Rosé,†Mari Iijima's debut solo album. The first song Minmay ever sings (while she and Hikaru are resting for the “nightâ€) is “Cinderella†– also written and composed by Mari Iijima herself. In fact, this is one of the songs that reportedly won Mari Iijima her casting audition in a real-life parallel (for she was the only Minmay candidate that not only sang but wrote her own songs).

Well I got a stack of production sketches and cels with matching painted backgrounds etc an inch thick from an exchange student whose relative worked on an anime back, hmm, 7 years ago. i finally found out it was for that Cartoon Network show, "Case Closed." i guess i should sell the whole stack while the iron is still relatively hot. some of these are quite nice.
