I don't know if Sentinel got a set of your Motorcycle Freak parts to check out the engineering, but I know they were considering saddle bags and even the bazooka before Stick's release. I think they decided it'd be a crafty marketing move to sell more Blrough Superiors and bring attention to any Sticks and Rays languishing on the store shelves to package more stuff with Yellow. Fortunately, they didn't choose the Wonderfest exclusive route. The Inbit seem a non-starter... it's hard enough to get Mospeada hero mecha made.. Maybe someday some sofubi Inbit will come out or something.

Good catch on the back of the box, seems down is the probable answer.

Battroid mode question for you guys, flaps down behind the shoulders (like in GERWALK mode) or flaps up? The instructions don't mention pushing them back up but they also don't show them down.

Sell your 1J, create room and fund your 1A purchase.

Yamato deserves a lot of praise for starting from scratch with their V1 VF-1 toy and a lot of good engineering developed from that and was implemented to much better success in the 1/48 and 1/60 V2 toys and every VF-1 that has followed. That said, the V1 is very much a learning experience and I'm glad it did well enough where Yamato was able to continue and grow but it's not a time that should be revisited. The Toynami MPC is not innovative in any way. It tries to jam "what worked" from previous toys basically mashing a 1/55 Takatoku into a Bandai HCM, adding a twist at the knee but inexplicably dropping the ability to angle the legs outward (from the HCM). It doesn't hold together well in fighter mode and has funky proportions in fighter and battloid modes BUT... it's pretty simple. It shouldn't frustrate you and it doesn't fall apart like the MPC Alphas. Is it a good toy? No.... but if I was doing more than taking pictures of fighter mode, I'd probably rather be handling the Toynami than the Yamato V1. I think I'd go with a Bandai chunky monkey over both though.

Not bad QC but out-moded, it debuted in 2001. I would rather own a Bandai 1/55, maybe even a Toynami MPC, than a Yamato V1 1/60 toy. Also, that backpack hinge is NOT fun to fix,.

Nah, they just announced the June release for the launch arms and DD is scheduled for September right? It sounds like PF 0D will be December.

1/48+fp's, 1/60+fp's, 1/72, 1/2k, 1/3k,1/100 and now 1/144

That looks nice! -
Bring on the DX Q raus!

Do you mean Bandaionline? That's not Bandai.

It's like a TWE item... Shops still buy and sell them.
-
No, the chronicle 1A, local shops ordered lots because it was going to be a high demand hard to get item.... Then the demand wasn't there. Then, when Hayao was released, very few shops ordered him so he was harder to come by and still sells for much more than Max.

This might be like what happened with Yamato's 1/48 VF-1A Max TV, a bunch of retailers are going to think this thing will sell like hot cakes so they'll grab as many as they can... then they won't sell and we might finally see a DX toy get sold at a discount. but probably not.

Ah, mine never made it that far before the legs came off. Bummer.

Does anyone happen to have an old Gakken toy catalog? I'm curious on the release dates and prices on some of their old toys and would love to include that info on my site. LMK -

It looks like cdj was late on sending notices and they shipped yesterday.

Man, 3/31 is the first day of my vacation. but would work for some preorder madness. Any day later in the week and I'm going to have to get a little creative.

I'll get an extra for when you change your mind

Bandai seems to have moved away from bundles in the dx line... I think they'll make us wait for a few solo releases then give us super parts... Maybe a few TV releases then tv super parts then a few DYRL releases followed by strike parts.
-
Dx Max 1A will include a Max 1A HMR instead of the Launch release stand... Make it happen Bandai!
-
Sadly, very believable.
-
Does that make Hayao next?
-
That's a good thing, maybe we'll get those repaints someday! Nothing from CDJ yet... looks like this thing will arrive just as I go off on Spring Break. Oh well.

I wouldn't say worried... but it'd be nice to have two more days to work on a review.
