  1. Thanks for the links and info guys, I'll check them out! - MT
  2. That looks great! I too am having to learn 3D. 2D now has it's limits. Thanks for sharing! Are you using an acetone fog to smooth it over?- MT
  3. That looks COOL! - MT
  4. The canopy does look a bit shallow. But hey, the guy in the green shirt gives it thumbs up! Hopefully there's a lot of panel lines to go with all that acreage! Touch n Shoot. I'm hoping it means touch the model and take photos with it. Sometimes cross cultural issues happen, like having to change the name of Pepsi in some countries because "has worms in it" doesn't sell very well in most countries.- MT
  5. I thought you were making an anti-math statement. "Stomping out equations like the bad guys they are!" - MT
  6. She looks GREAT Electric Indigo! Missile Boat is coming along slowly. I cleaned up the stern and machined hubs to solder the prop blades (counter-rotating; soon to be made) onto. The prop shaft is 1/16" stainless steel in the photo. I had to make my own saw blade to get that thin of a slit cut into the hubs. Making jigs and tooling is drawing out this build longer than expected. - MT
  7. That looks cool! I thought it looks bright too, but its an easy fix. Have you guys seen all this stuff over at Hobby King? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/robotics-diy-1/arduino.html I was looking at it trying to figure out where to start! Lots of good stuff - even gas detection modules. - MT
  8. Hikaru looks great! - MT
  9. Looking good! - MT
  10. That looks great! I'm going to have to do the same for my stuff. Get with the technology and go 3D. - MT
  11. The waterproofing is not bad actually. Everything is so small it will go in little disposable sauce cups with lids. The hull will be lined with foam for buoyancy too. Nyankodevice, now I know what to do with all the stuff in my spares box Interesting build! - MT
  12. Wasabi Kit Kat? That's why 4 martini lunches leed to no good! You're kit is coming along great Arbit! Just got the battery, two brushless motors, speed controlls and charger from Hobby King for my ship model. The equipment looks awesome! Can't wait to get things hooked up and try it out. The brushless motors are outrunners. I went for torque and quiet. The propellers will be 5 bladed and need the torque. - MT
  13. Thanks NZEOD. I hate painting them too! That's why I paint decal paper and cut strips then apply them. I've also used metal foil like for stain glass windows, cut it then paint it. - MT
  14. Thanks Sketchley for the links! The color looks good Arbit! The photo looks kinda purplish. FINALLY dug into some styrene work. The structure of the pods are done. It was fun cutting the angled slots into the pods for the stators. If the gray nozzles look to you like they came from an old pod racer kit, you're right! From my spares box. You can see the waterfoil shapes in the stator sides a little better in the finished product. Then I cleaned a lot of junk out of the hull to save weight and make space. The propeller channels are built into the hull from 1" styrene tube and the battery holders for the PT-15. Just waiting for the epoxy to cure now and clean it up. - MT
  15. Awww, you guys made a VF offspring - MT
  16. Looking good guys! Sketchley, that looks cool. Which kit is that? I looked for it and cannot find it. I bring it up because it looks about 1/350th scale. - MT
  17. Lt. Zombie, Nazi zombies - the worst kind! Looking good Edstuff and Arbit! Your dioramas are coming along great NZEOD! Electric Indigo, is that the old AMT kit? it's about time to make an R/C ship to run down on the lake. About 12 years ago I made a hybrid drive like this Voith Linear Drive and put it on a small destroyer model (a few years before theirs). Mine had a built in ball nozzle to direct the water flow. The point was to protect the prop, protect the wildlife and keep from getting snagged in the weeds while still having reverse. Plus regular water jet propulsion has no reverse without a bucket which would add weight. So I'm converting an old Tamiya 1/72nd PT-15 model (Trumpeter PT-815) to a fast missile boat and adding two of these drives for the best of both worlds. So far I only got to the stator jigs and stator construction. It's made entirely of .014" brass sheet and tube and about an inch in diameter. The fun part was machining the water foil and camber into the blades. - MT
  18. That looks great!!! Also congratulations on being one of the few people here to start something that big and actually finish it! - MT
  19. The airfield is looking good NZEOD! - MT
  20. This guy has TONS of builds in his site: http://heliblog.moller-ilsoe.dk/#category11 On the right are his builds. He documented everything really well with photos and good descriptions. He's using brushless motors which is the way I'm going to go. He has the Tamiya battleships with 4 brushless motors! On the PT-15 he used Arduino in conjunction with his controllers. I'll have to figure that one out. My ship will have to be LIGHT - I'm going for speed! Three props, three motors on the Tamiya PT-15. I just happened to decide on the battery he's going with too so it looks like it will work. Since it's going to be a few days, have a Merry Christmas and Happy Hoilidays guys! - Phill
  21. Same here! I'll be on break and plan on digging into some styrene! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! - MT
  22. Cool! Yeah, do it! - MT
  23. I haven't seen one yet. Best bet is just to do a search on their site. By series name and scale both will gather lots of hits. - MT
  24. I'm seriously thinking about Arduino boards now. I'll have to look more, but I saw a guy using it to control motors in an R/C boat. Three motors, two small, one big and the big motor was the only one with revere. I'm trying to build a scale R/C boat on Christmas break so I have something to tale to the lake. - MT
  25. Lots of cool stuff guys! I'm looking forward to Christmas break to build something! - MT
