And aparently close combat is something the F-35 can't do. I just hope that thing can out run it's opponents and keep it's opponent in missile range.

I would have loved to see a scene somewhere where a New Macross-class depletes it's gunship's charge and uses it as a giant baseball bat.

I finnaly got around to getting this game (gee aren't I late for the party) so far it's pretty good. Controls aren't exactly Ace Combat and neither are the graphics but I can get used to it. The dialogue wasn't that bad either, the second mission I felt like I was working with the 08th MS Team, and the dialogue at base lightens up the seriousness of being on the loosing end of a war.

At least they didn't call it Lightning. The British got stuck with the crappy early models and hated them, then when the U.S. showed up with the newer ones the Germans called them the Fork-tailed Devils.

Ah too many to chose from, I like just about all the ones that wern't in 7. Though when ever I think Macross tracks Information High is the first to come to mind for me.

Beautiful plane indeed. I've always wondered why they haven't decided to upgrade the F-15s as a stopgap untill the F/A-22 get into full production, and last I heard production was lagging.

I think that unit is in the Macross II timeline and is the VF-2's predecessor.

I really can't see dogfights being a thing of the past. There's always going to be a way to defeat a missile, and if your opponent knows what that way is and gets in your face and you have no gun... There is no perfect guarunteed to kill the guy missile nor will there ever be one despite what the politicians say, meaning Mr. machine gun will aways be a nessesity.

I looked at the mecha listings for V Gundam at MAHQ, and it even listed the Salamis Kai-class with the Federation, that class been around since 0079.

Did they ever explain how the Federation went from the entity ruling the Earth Sphere and making Gundams to the crumbling entity in V Gundam? Did it just end up like Rome?
