I missed out. This one wasn't high on my list but if I would have bought it for a good preorder discount.

What I missed Nippon Yasan and it was taken out of my cart when trying to order it from Hobby Search!

Midnight PST? I was gonna go to bed but now I'll stay up. Maybe I'll get one depending on the price.
  4. Deleted? Can we assume that the real Macross people sent them a letter to stop making it sound like Kawamori and Tenjin were going to show up carrying Kevin on their shoulders?
  5. Saw it and gave it a neutral vote. Which from me when it comes to this series is a positive vote. I like it when they aren't trying to make things cute. I'm starting to cringe whenever Freya shows up. I just want to scream at her to stop being such a stereotype. Other than that good episode. Hey next time why don't they just trying chasing after the Aerial Knight when they retreat? Better yet why doesn't their ship fire some of those guns as they retreat and be done with it? The Windermere army from what we've seen so far are 5 pilots and who ever is nearby that has the Var. Fire 100 missiles in the Aerial Knights direction as they retreat and you've defeated their entire army. Now here's another question: How does one not die from the trauma of hulking up from Var and hulking down? Once it wears off your body is going to be totally ruined.

Glaug is clear to leave Nippon. Now time to wait for it to arrive in America.

I was hoping for a non VF-1 release after the VF-1A.
  8. Oberth was visually a cool design but the U.N. Spacy clearly under estimated who they were fighting. Even the Macross was outclassed by the Zentradi. If he wanted to Vrlitwhai could have destroyed the Macross, disable the entire space fleet and effectively conquer Earth by the 3rd episode. The Macross only survived for so long because the Zentradi were both curious and afraid of it.

Accurate scale Destroids might mean tiny prices to go with tiny sizes.

Yeah got my shipped notice from Mykombini too. Kinda wish I got a 2nd Regult for the display. I hoping that they'll come out with all other Regult variants that I can make a squad for my Glaug to lead them. Last time I order from them by SAL it took 10 days (weekends included). Here's hoping it arrives June 6th.

No shipping notice from My Komobini yet Re-watched the Macross Fever clips. Nice duel to death between Hikaru and Kamjin. Gets you pumped for the Glaug. I think the mecha action in it is better than what we've seen for Delta. In Delta's defense they are using the actions scenes to exchange dialog and to sing songs. All that takes time away from fighting mecha.
  14. Prediction: Once Captain Phasma softens up to Ginger Viking (I don't know anyone's names) he'll get killed off.

They look cool and that means they're accurate enough for me. As long as they aren't sold together at the same time as an exclusive box set for $300 plus shipping I think I'll get them. A like how they release these toys one at a time every other month. That's easy on the wallet.
  16. Neutral. Very predictable episode. I was surprised to see that they didn't stretch being captured over 2 episodes.
  17. I would call an entire episode with the everyone disguised by wearing cat ears on a planet with cat people as one big visual gag.

You know what would be ridiculous? If the Japanese Macross fans cared as much as we did about the smallest details. No toy line would ever make it past the first release.
  19. Really good work.

I know it's like we want M&M! Here you go. The colors are off a shade. I hate you! I want to live with Dad!
  21. The original series also covered some universal tropes that goes beyond its time. Your current Macross is still built on a decades old property. Not counting the spotty animation it still stands the test of time. Could a 30+ year franchise be built on Delta if it was the first Macross? Who knows.

Glaug is being prepped. Don't know this means they actually have the Glaug or just acknowledging my payment.

Paid to Mykombini. Now the wait.
  24. I've been gone for the last couple of days. I want to make something clear. Macross since the beginning has always had comedic with serious moments. You can't claim it was always light-hearted just because 20% of the original series was light in tone. You can't claim Frontier was serious because 20% of that series had a darker tone. Some incarnations of Macross were more serious than others. Although Macross was mostly moderate in tone. It made a name for itself in the 80's & 90's by having the perfect mix of the comedic and the serious. It was a product of space opera mecha fans who represented their own demographic. Its most recent incarnations is a product of marketing and current trends. Macross fans may watch Delta because it has mecha and has Macross in the title but it isn't a space opera in the traditional sense. It is just another anime that represents what's the most marketable right now. This can still be fun to watch. Just don't watch it with the expectations that you'd expect from the golden age of Macross. Enjoy it for what it is. Don't enjoy it just because of its title.
