I always thought the VF-1 Battroid that Isamu hits with paint balls in Macross Plus was meant to be the VF-1B.

Minmay's first film had to be a low budget Movie. There was 56,000 people in Macross city at the time. If tickets were 10 bucks a piece and everyone saw it once that only $560,000. Currently a Mega block Buster (I think) are made for at least 100 million dollars now, 20 to 50 million for average 'Hollywood' production and 1 million for really low budget film. Even if everyone sees Shao Pai Loon twice we are only talking about a million dollars. What does Minmay stand to make a 100 bucks? This film also had a rush production schedule: Minmay mentions in November to Hikaru ('China town') that she going to doing a movie. Minmay is seen filming it at the end of November when Roy comes to see her (Pineapple Salad). The movie comes out in early January (Micro Cosmos). Most big budget films take a couple of months to film and several months of post production. This film could only have about a month of filming and post production. This movie had to be the quality of a TV movie of the week. 6 years from now when this movie comes to your town don't see it.

Here's a stupid question for all of you. Why isn't there a 'system' that all countries use?

Everyone knows Snake Eyes should be played by Barry Williams. Richard Simmons as Cobra Commander. Mr. T as Storm Shadow, " I'm a Ninja Fool!" The Olsen twins as Tomat and Xamot. If they treat the movie as a 'traditional war movie' with a touch your generic block buster action film it could quite entertaining (They would need me to write the first draft ). But chances are it will be like street fighter with matrix special effects.

I would imagine any mention of HG in Tokoyo Pop's version of Macross 7 Trash would be something like this, "And special thanks to Harmony Gold."

Bingo. That was the reason why it was nuked. Look at Area's Seven Anime views or better yet read a news paper for book or movie reviews. It isn't a short couple of sentences saying I think this is neat. A review is good length, well written paragraph or two about your opinion of "X". It should be something that we would want to save for all of history to see. A review is something that can stand on it's own without someone starting it off by asking what is your opinion of "X".

Well there was a Space War One RPG at the Macross RPG Community but the person incharge could never get enough people who were interested in playing a pilot of a VF-1. Most of your RPers want to be Isamu's twin brother flying a YF-19 and see Macross a war story and not a character driven story. The only time the person incharge had a lot of players is when they promised a super big fight. Message board RPGs have a great advantages over real time ones because you can tell longer stories and have things run like a soap opera. Real time is great when you want have something at pace one short mission at a time. Message Boards are known for being slow because of players posting rates. Someone who come for the fights only can hold everything up when there isn't anything to kill. When you have players that are willing to post every other day and GM that is eager to kill slow pokes thing do move at a fair speed. The problem about having a Message Board RPG here is the unwanted traffic. On an 'entire' RPG message board you will find at least one new person that post "can I play?" or tosses themselves into the story without getting permission. Macross World gets alot of traffic. We might want to have a Squadron of 7 VF-4 pilots game going but we would be flooded by dozens extra idiots who magically are flying their YF-19 into the battle. Then the actual players would post, 'You have to await they turn to join a game.' The players would start again and another new idiot player tries to jumps in. It's best to keep watching the established Macross RPG type boards. They do on occasion start non Macross Plus era games on a small scale. An established group like macrossrpg.com already has the infastructure to keep a game going. New starts up stand a greater chance of closing than a start up group. Problems with having a RPG Forum here.

I always saw UNAF & UNN as two different branch incharge surface defence on Earth and UNSAF & UNSM as sub-branches of the UNS branch. Sort of like how the USMC is connected to the US Navy.

I deleted the Music topic not this one but you should know by now any Off topic thread runs the risk of being closed or deleted. There is flaw in your logic. If some of those on the forums are like family I would think it would tell your 'family' through PM or Email instead the forums. Would you want your extended 'family' to accidently miss this news becauses it's maybe hidden between a thread about star trek and Valkyrie?

Who hasn't seen that pic before? Yet it does explain why Rex has a gang of outlaw bikers. Implants cost a lot of money. Asking for a tribute from those that come into your turf can pay for them.

Re-watch the fight scene again. A good number of those excellent cool highlights are in that scene. Like Hikaru's amazing deformed punching arm and be sure to pause it when Max bleeds. All the blood contained in his head instantly leaves his body in that one punch.

I think I would prefer to see a black screen labeled footage missing and listen to the dialog. I don't feel that I'm worthy to see this great footage. Kung Fu Daddy is so cool! Max's hair turning brown, Hikaru's missing eye it's all totally rad! You know for a fact that you can trust what ever you see in their work as fact of Macross.
