Robotech: The Macross Saga sourcebook
Roy Focker replied to AlexM80's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Kinda funny to read that on their forums. I can understand both arguments. HG wants to keep a tighter control our Robotech because they did a crappy job maintain even the most crappist level of continuity but they have to either give tell Palladium more official stuff or allow Palladium to expand things on their own. I think they also say that the copied line art drawings was another request of HG. You know I can see this line dying a couple of years not because of Palladium mistakes/lack luster work but from restrictions imposed by HG. Palladium seems limited in what they can do. Which makes me wonder why didn't HG just license the use of a game system, hire a few RPG writers and publish their own game? They could have the best control over things that way. -

Tonight episode is almost over. They killed a terminator with some MP-5 to distract it followed by a couple shot gun shells to the face. That was it? I seem to remember them being a bit tougher in the movies.

Robotech: The Macross Saga sourcebook

Sorry to tell you this but they are. The new infantry weapons of the machineguns & launcher types. The guns have SDC ammo & MDC ammo. Some of the MDC damage is pretty close to what the Mecha can dish out. Clearly they added these to allow Infantry to fight mecha but this never happen the Macross Saga. they had Mecha to fight Mecha. -

I think I remember the AR-21 having 70 rounds in the mini Macross guide book. -
Robotech: The Macross Saga sourcebook
Roy Focker replied to AlexM80's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Only new Mecha is the VF-1R Variant from the video game. All other Mecha is from Robotech the Macross Saga. They adopted names for some Zentradi Mecha from the Robotech Reference Guide. Nearly every Mecha has a Chaff/Flame System. Only things they omitted was lesser RDF NPCs , Zentradi NPC, some Zentradi ships, grand cannon. They did invent some infantry weapons. -

Yes but keep in mind it was animated in 1979 and that it heavily influenced the creators of Macross.- 3998 replies

Did anyone find this part strange? Minmei's is a White Chick? -
Robotech: The Macross Saga sourcebook
Roy Focker replied to AlexM80's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's because Robotech.com is using the original names. Even with its flaws it does feel good to flip through a Macross Saga book. This opinion may change after reading. A perfect Christmas gift for a illiterate friend maybe? -
Robotech: The Macross Saga sourcebook
Roy Focker replied to AlexM80's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I bought this. I owned all their previous Robotech/Macross RPG and played the hell out of them. I'll submitting a full review to RPG.net soon. Here's what would have been a deal breaker for me. If it doesn't seem like a big deal to you buy the book: The Tomahawk is listed as having a crew of two. In the animation we see the crew appear at least twice. There is only one crew member both these times. Robotech.com lists one crew member. Guess who list two crew members? The Robotech Reference Guide. Great accurate source. I then read someone pointing this error out on Palladium's message boards Here is what the author had to say: Now I just want to scream stupid RPG hack! Robotech is anime. Ever heard of “Anime Magic” if the source material indicates one Crew Member you go with it. The guy refuses to believe one crew man can do it all but has no problems with transforming robots that fight giants? Palladium's old Robotech and Macross II rpg were known for gross mistakes. Lancer Space Fighter, size of the Macross Cannons etc. We use to think it was just bad research now we find out that some mistakes are intentional. It is one thing to increase M.D.C. armor ratings for character survival it is another to intentionally present inaccurate information. Palladium will always have their loyal RPG customer base. A Robotech RPG will appeal to Robotech fans as well. Even with the differences between Macross & Robotech fan I think I know one thing common with both groups. They like to talk about Mecha and crap. How many missiles does this have? Was that Minmay flying in the background? They give a crap that a ship is the correct sizes, etc. We can expect RPGs to fill in the blanks. What this hack did is inexcusable. After reading that I now doubt the accuracy of the rest of the book. Still it is good to see an official Macross Saga RPG book. Even with that deal breaker it still feels good to flip through a Macross Saga book. -

Blu-Ray looks best on my big TV. DVD just look good. They aren't flying off the shelves because no one is trying to make the DVD obsolete. DVD are cheaper, they are advertise more, both new titles and title for DVD only are being release for it. Great availability and pricing. For your average consumer DVD are the way too go. Blu-Ray are expensive in comparison. Sure they are fantastic in quality but most people are fine with their DVD. They get little advertising compared to DVDs. Instead of a focus at releasing big epic spectacles from the present to 20 years ago. We see mostly just current releases. Serenity is in the right step. It has been very hard avoiding that $8 DVD copy I be seening for the last year.- 376 replies

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Roy Focker replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well looks best in Battroid mode the one I intend to keep it in. Okay where are the preorders? -
Maybe I have bad taste but I kinda liked Never Say Never Again. The corny dated 80's stuff in that movie was just as corny, dated or campy as Moore's stuff. There were a few good parts of the film. The intro training exercise, spa brawl, Largo and his line "Sweet Taste like Money" I quote that line when ever I get the chance.

Hey Busta Rhyhms could have played the role as welll.

Bond Kills for Queen & Country Previous Bonds and even novels ones had class. Sure he was capable of doing bad things but he appreciate fine things and was refined. Craig's Bond is more of thug. They can put him in a penguin suit but he stands out as a tough guy. He walks in to a place and he looks like trouble. I known Casino Royal he suppose to be Bond before he was Bond. He still seems very rough around the edges in the previews for this movie. Craig is 40 years old can we honestly expect to see more refined Bond by the 3rd outing? Kinda too old to change much.
-
Craig or rat face was just fortune enough to get a darker Bond movie.
-
I read that too. He make a good nuff Sho nuff but the movie doesn't need to be remade. Would it be serious revision? Part of the movie's charm is the silliness.
