  1. Seto, that sounds alot like why JJ jumped to SW7 after STID: The Merchandising alone...

and this comes to mind, especially with JJ's open desires for $$$ above story: Are all the people involved in the current problems with the ST IP (and SW7~9 by extension) younger Boomers, Gen-Xers or Millennials?

They've never been described as such.

It's possible they are a hangar complex made by adapting incomplete ARMD-class spaceframes the same way the Megaroad-class was developed by modifying a Macross-class spaceframe.

plus the limited visuals seen (including the better visuals from the last Delta movie) don't seem to indicate there was veneer thrusters anywhere on the pseudo-ARMDs of the Megaroad.

  3. i guess that explains why the fleet wasn't visiting a Quasar during their travels (which was what i thought was depicted in the few pics or clips seen online previously) but the actual remains of Saturn... I'm just curious because if Saturn effectively disappeared (or its sphere of gravitational influence is reduced or removed outright), that should actually cause massive changes in the solar system... should it not? I know ive talked about this before (because then and now, its seems like a really cool 'What If' event)...

  4. I suppose that rolls into the NUNS SOP when it comes to fighting unidentified Zentraudi forces: Because of the sheer numbers of enemy units that can be brought to bare against an MUNS force, stealth/evasion or excessive use of reaction weapons is the only way to 'save the day'

The NUNS, although generally fears encounters with random Zentraudi forces, the bigger danger is, "What If a Zent force improves itself after capturing NUNS modernized Zent tech".

  5. Is this why they will never make a Live Action Battletech/Mechwarrior (nitch community, too much Lore [Where/When exactly do you set it]), Macross (larger community but also the question of Where/When it's set) or MS Gundam (ridiculous community across the globe but WHICH SERIES/SETTING/AU to use?) ???

For everyone here dialing in their Nopes on Speed Dial, you might be shocked: They could make something that on it's face looks like One Piece but they go their own way and become just as beloved as the anime or Manga....

assuming that the people in charge are not epically retarded farts... I'm talking Macross Frontier, Yamato 2199Mandalorian or Strange New Worlds levels of success needed to meet Quiteria standards. On that, I can agree with all hands, the bar is THAT high

Do does the RC-4E have proper, wheeled landing gear, or does it hop around the hangar on its big bunny feet?

    *cracks knuckles* I got this...

Look at the the bottom left (SouthWest) pic. Its the underview sketch. The Foot struts have (each) 6 pads spaced from each other in someway equal measures. That tells me (or at least, makes me think) that the design is space-based, never meant for planetary service. No Wheels.

    *Back tracks a moment*

Before I continue, I ask this: What kind of gravity exists on the SDF-1 and its carrier-method deployed assets (SDFMTV: SDF-1 + Prometheus + Daedalous Amphibious Carriers; DYRL SDF-1 + ARMD-1 + ARMD-2). I ask this because there is less reason to have what I am thinking about, in terms of how the RC-4E is handled while inside what ever ship it is loaded into, the question of how much gravity is available (if things are normally Zero-G, then things are more likely to be man handled with cranes in order to get the item from the stow point to the launch point thus less rational

    Anyway, my idea. Boggy Wheels.

    UH-1H Helicopter S/N 66-17099 | www.dakotaairparts.com (dakotaairservices.com)

Look at the first pic of the Huey, at the back of the landing skid. its got, what I heard was refered to as Boggy Wheels. Its how the end user of Hueys (or other skid-using helicopters) moves the A/C while not under power. I think (assuming that gravity is a thing on where the RC-4E Rabbit is stored/maintained) that the Rabbit sits on either 4 boggy wheels or a large single/multi-piece of Support Equipment (think like two skateboards or one big pallet with imbedded wheels). That, to me, seems like the most likely method of how the Rabbit is handled, in the hangar (other than by crane)...

It's got an owlbear.  Of course I'm in.

While early D&D ran like a simulator for killing PCs, the game (and, arguably, the entire fantasy genre) has changed a lot over the last half-century.  Today it's going to depend a lot on the campaign you're playing and who's running it.  There's definitely more serious stuff to play, like Curse of Strahd or the newly-released Shadow of the Dragon Queen, but then there's also stuff like Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos that's basically D&D Harry Potter.  Or the campaign I'm running, where a player cast grease to break up a bar fight and one of the NPCs (who had the potential to be a mini boss later) rolled a 1 on his dex save, so I ruled that not only did he slip and fall on the grease but he broke his neck on a chair in the process.  Kinda set the tone for everything that's happened since, which is probably why my players got sidetracked from the main quest right before entering a dungeon to play with a bag of magic beans they found.

My first DM, waaaaaaay back in high school (in the late 80's) ran his 1st ED game with a iron fist, unmercifully dice and utter delight at rebooting the party WEEKLY at times (especially if you were rolled up with Chaotic Neutral alignment. There was no "Might save your life, might screw your wife", just KILL KILL KILL (and rarely survived an encounter, typically) regardless of class. CN Wizard? the rest of party contemplates the loot from dead PC.... Oh, and when you have classic monty python sessions? (did i mention the Delayed Blast FB on a timer in a room we're trying to Bed Bars/Lift Gates to escape from.... I know i did NOT mentioned that the highest STR in the party, was 9....)

So, WOTC released a statement on the backlash that the leaked OGL draft was generating.  The TLDR version is that a new version of the OGL is coming, but they'll be walking some of it back.

That said, some of the language they used is pretty telling.

"When we initially conceived of revising the OGL, it was with three major goals in mind. First, we wanted the ability to prevent the use of D&D content from being included in hateful and discriminatory products"

Some creators (I'm thinking specifically of the DnD Shorts guy) were concerned that the language of the new OGL would give WOTC the ability to just shut you down if they decided they didn't like you.  Not a lawyer here- this may be technically true, and the wording of the OGL should be more clear, and you can't necessarily rely on a corporation's goodwill to protect you.  That said, I'd be willing to bet that this was almost 100% about their lawsuit with Ernie Gygax and TSR LLC over the alleged racist content in the leaked playtest for Star Frontiers: New Genesis.

"Second, we wanted to address those attempting to use D&D in web3, blockchain games, and NFTs by making clear that OGL content is limited to tabletop roleplaying content like campaigns, modules, and supplements."

This statement is interesting if you look at it from the other side.  Sure, they're saying that you can't use the OGL to make a NFTs and junk because the OGL only applies to TTRPG content... but if the OGL only applies to TTRPG content, then it (even the new version) doesn't apply to a ton of other content.  Critical Role livestreaming their games, making comic books about their characters, making an anime, Youtube discussion channels, skits and parodies, all that sort of stuff would not have been affected.

"And third, we wanted to ensure that the OGL is for the content creator, the homebrewer, the aspiring designer, our players, and the community—not major corporations to use for their own commercial and promotional purpose"

Hence the provisions for paying royalties only if you made over $750,000, and only on the money you make over $750,000.  I think this is the most telling part of WOTC's message, as it's more or less a confirmation of what I said earlier.  WOTC doesn't really care about XP to Level 3's Quest-O-Nomicon.  They're mad that Paizo used the old OGL to create D&D's biggest competitor in Pathfinder RPG.  Ironically, Pathfinder 2e changed enough from "3.5e but slightly different" original edition, and used very deliberate language in the process, that WOTC would probably have an uphill battle proving Paizo owes/owed them anything.  Apparently, Paizo only included published Pathfinder 2e with the OGL to make it easier for fans to create Pathfinder content.  Regardless, it sounds like when the new OGL is finished and goes into effect it will NOT have any royalty structure in it.

I didn't address it before, but another major concern people had was the license back provision.  Creators were concerned that it more or less meant that if they made something for D&D using the OGL that WOTC would own it.  WOTC's reasoning: "The license back language was intended to protect us and our partners from creators who incorrectly allege that we steal their work simply because of coincidental similarities." My opinion on this was sort of like my opinion on the objectionable content thing- I don't believe that WOTC actually intended the worst-case scenario, but if it allowed for the worst-case scenario then the language should have been more clear about what WOTC can and cannot do.  Which seems to be their intention (at least now): "Under any new OGL, you will own the content you create. We won’t. Any language we put down will be crystal clear and unequivocal on that point."

Ultimately, I'm back where I started.  Was the leaked OGL bad?  Yes, but arguably over unclear wording than greed or malice.  Small-time content creators and fans were right to concerned, and I'm very glad to see WOTC address those concerns, but the reaction to those legitimate concerns seemed to me a bit overblown and, at times, suffering from hints of entitlement.

Thank you. Now I have a word for you.

    Control.

That's the word that I have heard said on several occasions, on some more... reputable streams on YT, on WotC (Really Hasbro, since I'll bet a weeks rations of Navy Beans its them via Hasbro's stockholders Shareholders dictating terms to WotC). They want to control the market and show some effort in increasing their profitability, since folks finally put Two & Two together on just how Habro makes their cash in the past two decades: WotC (thus now applying just a liberal amount of pressure on the Toy Giant...)

I'll never look at an Unseen Battlemaster quite the same way after this... :D Are those angled launchers artillery or smoke (in Battletech, they were considered MLs on a stock BLR-1G)? I asked my wife about this suit "It looks like a nurse's outift' *giggles*

They wanted Cody to be around in Obi-Wan but took that out during scripting. Guess that story point stuck around in other projects. Howser arrested. Wilco dead. Now Cody AWOL.

I don't know if there will be this "Clone rebellion" the rumor mill keeps pumping. Otherwise, wouldn't that clone from Obi-Wan have been on the run instead of being a homeless bum? Or all the other clones out there won't have been able to continue wandering about.

    Spoiler

You think 'removed because of script changes'. I think 'removed of $$$ issues in paying a toon more $$$ for a guest appearance on a lean budget. But that's just me. As for the clones? I CAN imagine the clones being ordered into formation (minus helms) on SDs Hangars and the like, given a pep talk (while the Hangar Crews get to safety), then someone hits the button marked 'Blow em out'... I really believe by the time of Rogue One and Eps 4, there are no clones on the Empire's official ToE. All because a few clones started to realize, 'the Empire's Coolaid isn't as good as The Republics Coolaid...' (I don't think the empire would wait for the clones to expire at their accelerated rates)

Most of the time, the VF-4 didn't use a gun pod at all because it had a pair of built-in beam cannons as its main armament that could be exchanged for 30mm machine guns should projectile weapons be more advantageous.

It has occasionally been depicted, mainly by model kits, as being able to wield the VF-1's GU-11 gun pod.  Variable Fighter Master File also depicts it with this capability, though its version has the VF-4 using a variant of the GU-11 that has a more streamlined shape.

In Macross: Eternal Love Song, the VF-4 instead has a large beam rifle as its gun pod... but that game is part of the Macross II timeline.

    colorcode-vf4.gif (923×900) (macross2.net)

VFs are not Omnimechs. Are you sure they even mention the ease of swapping those over nacelle weapons*? Is it possible the 30mm guns are a variant of the common VF-4?

*after spending a bit of time looking at the imagery and imagination, i would figure any swapping of parts would include the entire arm assembly (mostly because the logical locations to remove the housing of the weapon cannot be reached in Fighter mode, unless the module (and arm) slides forward and slightly up, away from the nacelle below, in Fighter mode. thinking about that, alone, maybe is the reason the VF-4 was replaced as soon as it could be; The transformation sequence alone must of made it a maintenance nightmare...

  12. Thoughts (because i don't want to create a new thread for what is a nitch topic)?

What i am concerned about is video games like Dungeon & Dragons Online (a legacy 3.5-based MMO still active), NWN1 and NWN2 (legacy PC games long gone save a few Persistent Worlds)? how does this legal crap that HASBRO is pulling work?

How does this affect fan-skit operations like VivaLaDirtLeague, All for 1 or Critical Roll?
