  1. John Hodgeman once said that the line between a collector and a hoarder is a display case. And that's exactly what I told my wife when I bought some more shelves for this and the 1/48 MM that are on the way...

    Great pictures, Saburo!

    Thank you.

Haha, that works for me. Now i just need to get display cases. Hope your wife likes the new shelves. :)

  2. You're not contributing. You're just turning us into hoarders.

I wasn't planning on keeping my YF-25 but it looks so sweet now.

    Hoarder/collector same thing right?

Its good that you are keeping the YF-25, now you won't have to go through regret if you sold/traded it. :)

  3. Saburo, God of Macross Photography.

close313 you are too kind, thank you.

because of saburo, many MWF folks now wanted one :p

hehe.. just wanted to contribute to MWF in my own way. ;)

For those that have theirs and transformed the VF-25, were the hip joints exceptionally tight? I had to use much more force (compared to the VF-25A) to rotate them into place when going into Battroid mode.

  4. Slightly off topic thread jack, but I just wanted to bring this back up for a second. I just bought a $100 figure from NY, and all I got back was this randomly issued background image:

    qhshckgdas37yav7qdpk_zpsbb9edac2.jpg

    ... ...

I got that same one... seems less random now. Back on to topic. :)

  5. Yeah you convinced me saburo. Gonna pick one up from my guy next month methinks. The extra 25A will have to wait!

Yes! My job is done. :)

Bandai should hire you to take their product pics, Saburo. You have a gift for making every single one look amazing and desirable, and strangely, not quite so toy-like. Bandai hasn't learned that.

Thank you Sildani! Now that would be an awesome job! If there was ever a chance of Bandai hiring me, part of my hiring conditions would be to reissue the 25S and 25G as a web release. :D *Sigh* one can only dream...

    This!!!

I couldn't have said it better.

    Thank you!

Yes, much more modeler like, not so toyish.

I try to cut down on the amount of glare off the figure surfaces and helps greatly reduce the toy appearance. :)

That last page is pure Valk po4n.

Cannot wait for mine to arrive.

    -b.

Haha.. maybe I should start a Valkyrie Uncensored website. ;) When is yours due to arrive?

  6. Awesome pic. Getting a bit of a Mass Effects vibe from your pics haha

So are the joints as tight as the VF-25A releases?

Thank you! After you mentioned it does have the ME vibe to it. ME is still one of my favorite games, weird ending and all. The joint are tight, I even think they are tighter. Swiveling the hip joints back to go into Battaroid mode was quite a chore compared to the VF-25A.

    really cool.

    Thanks you David!

I love the photos Saburo! You are making me want that Prophecy!

Thank you, I would recommend adding one to your collection. :D

Damn those pics are making me want one now! Very nice shots.

Get one it is really nice to see in person. :D

The orange looks great but the blue crotch :X

    You could paint it. :)

Saburo, I see that your Photoshop skills have improved a lot. I notice that the floor reflections are now in focus as opposed to double vision and these images of the yf-25 are so sharp. Just to let you know, even though I don't post often, I do enjoy your photos very much.

Thank you for the compliment, I really appreciate it. The floor doulbe reflection was really bothering me, I used clear plexiglass sheet beneath the figure to achieve the reflection and that would cause the double/blurry reflection because the figure was being reflected off upper and lower surface of the plexiglass. I am using a new material for the base and now no more annoying double/blurry reflections. :)

Excellent pics, Saburo! Me gusta maximum :D

TCracker thank you, I really need to learn figure action poses from you. :D

Wow blue and orange are my favorite colors but dam I just couldnt get this release since I have no ties to it in the series.Looking at Saburo's picturesit makes me regret not getting one when hlj had it open. Just makes me full of anticipation if they ever do a Leon type to go with the yf-30.

    Again Great Pictures

    Thank you.

When I first saw the YF-25 the thing that I liked the most was the head, the color scheme was ok. Now that I have it, it has grown on me quite a bit. Taking pics of it was great, the colors just make it pop. :)

  7. Great pictures as usual, Saburo! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, its my pleasure to share my photos.

Sexy crap. Feeling good about this purchase haha

I am too and I have to say the YF-25 is the most photogenic of all of the Frontier Valkyries.

  8. A = Mint box, unopened.

B = Dinged up box but not badly so. Could be sealed or unsealed.

    So:

If it's not listed as a comment then I wouldn't worry about damage.
I've never had an issue with damaged good or scratches and I've bought 4 or 5 things from them over the last year.I believe they are pretty careful about checking and buying back from users.
Hope that helps. I'm sure they will let you send it back if it's broken and they didn't catch it.
BTW the fee is 5% of your buy, so it scales based on what you pay obviously.

Thanks Gakken that helps a lot. All the items I looked at had nothing in the comments so that's a good thing. :)

  9. Yeah I've had nothing but good experiences with them. Always ships fast, well protected, and in good shape.

I followed up with them and that $10 dollar handling fee is present if you use a credit card or paypal. So use whatever works for you.

It beats the hell out of waiting around on an auction or being out bid :D

Gakken, I have been browsing their listings and wondered if you had any experience with item being damaged? Not shipping damage but the item sold has damage (scratch, cracked etc.). I see their rating system on each item, would you happen to know if they make notes on the listing if they find damage on a item or is a safe to assume that a "B" level item is damage free?

  10. You're welcome!

Present tomorrow? Nice. So, PROPHECY fulfilled eh? ;)

Yes,the Prophecy will be fulfilled. haha

Nice collection. You have very good photographing skill as well on your other posts.

In my case, I gave up (upgraded) plastic modelling for this toy. I see VB-06 soon?

    Keep it up!

P.S. We share the same birthday date. 23rd June.

Thank you! I gave up collecting most TF (I only collect combiners now), and Gunpla.

Yes, the VB-06 was on my list to hunt down, but now Bandai has made much easier for me to get. :) The hard part now it balancing toy collecting and getting new photography gear.

Happy MW Birthday to you too!

Very nice collection. I can see your waiting for the tornado parts for the F and G to complete your Frontier SMS collection. Any plans to add the 171s? Your YF-19 is pretty lonely. Will you make plans for a YF-21 and 11B? I don't why, but I have this weird feeling that the YF-21 may get an Arcadia revisit after the 0D.

Thank you. You are correct, the F and G are waiting for their Tornado parts upgrade. :) My plan was to able to display each variant with the upgrade parts, I am still on the hunt for another G to able to display naked, super and tornado versions, with Alto I am set. I have something I want to try, but I'll save that for when the Tornado parts are released. ;) I like the 171's but the problem with the cracking triangles on the CF version really bothers me. I would bug me to no end know I have a set of 171's and one of them is damaged. I know I can just keep it in fighter mode would be best way to keep them from cracking, for now I have decided not to get 171s but that Luca 171 is really nice... I will eventually get a YF-21 and 11B, I hope Arcadia releases them or I track down Yamato versions, but tracking down Yamato DRYL VF-1S Super/Strike Roy and Hikaru are high on my priority list.

    Nice fleet you got there.

Thank you Gakken85! My bank account isn't too happy with them. LOL

  11. The pilots are not packaged in the plane, they are separate just like in every other VF-25 release.

Can't wait till my 2nd and 3rd arrive ^_^ then I can complete my VF-25 display case.

Oh, if only I had some color-matched orange paint and a lance...

    *snip*

Thank for the info, I thought maybe Bandai packaged the pilots differently with the YF-25.
