  1. I recently received my Ozma from N-Y. It came missing the antenna on one side. The box was opened (the factory tape was cut on one side of the box) but I couldn't tell for sure if the tape on the foam portion where the valkyrie had been taped back up or not. Most likely this unit came from another store since mine was part of the later shipments and it was wrapped in a plastic bag.

I contacted N-Y and they said I have to ship the whole figure back to them so that they can send it back to Bandai for inspection. I decided to just keep it as is since it's not worth it to me to spend additional money on shipping the figure back to them which they will not reimburse. I guess this will stay in fighter mode forever..

    Damn, sorry to hear that.

  2. I am torn on this one. The 171 has grown on me but the completionist part of me says "do not buy 171" because I don't want to buy a 171 CF due to the issues. I don't have any 171s in my collection and If I bought all 3 versions knowing that the 171 CF would eventually break would bug the hell out of me. So I just stayed away from the 171.

Decisions, decisions... Maybe I can just consider an Alto and Luca a complete set in my mind. :)

  3. Yeah, it is fun hunting - that's why even though I really don't want a MP Grimlock I've been looking for one, purposely avoiding buying it online and looking only at my local Toys R Us.

Space is really at a premium for me right now so even though I LOVE having extra's, even if I could find and/or was inclined to buy another Ozma 29 I'd have no placed to put it!

    -b.

I know what you mean, I am out of shelf space at the moment. I have 3 Ozma 29, and opened all 3 to inspect them for the stress mark issue and also to take 3 mode pictures. After the photoshoot was done 2 of them went back into their boxes and placed on the ever growing stack of Valkyrie boxes.

I have to get my display cases soon and clear out one of my closets so I can put all the boxes away.

  4. Now that you mentioned it, it really looks lighted up by LED, especially when the colour is reflected on the mouthplate.

Yes, the reflection on the mouth plate.

I was wondering what the discoloration on the mouth plate was when I was processing the photo and realized that it was the reflection from the eye. Good job Bandai!

  5. ^

    Especially that last Battroid pic.

Cool pic.... Love the cool black background ^.^

    Thank you both. :)

What really amazes me about the Ozma is the paint Bandai used for the eyes. It reflects the light nicely; in the first and last photos it looks as though I installed an LED in the head but that's just the light reflecting off the paint, no photo shopped effects added.

  6. *snip*

Soooooo, any words of caution whilst transforming these precious toys to avoid damaging it?

My suggestion would be to read review and watch youtube video by Jenius and VF-5SS, they are very informative and have helped me greatly.

  7. Luckily I pre-paid for one of the 2 units I have on pre-order. Decided it will be nice to diplay in fighter and battroid. But especially battroid because the head is so sweet on this one.

I agree loop the head design on the YF-25 is awesome, I just need to get display cases because I am out of space...

  8. When are the pre-orders opened? I think I saw it on a few sites but that might've been an old listing.

Both the YF-25 Prophecy and the VF-25F July reissue pre-orders have already opened and have been closed.

For the VF-25F most of the shops have re-opened a previous listing of the VF-25F for the July reissue. My suggestion is to keep an eye on MW and shops once they are released and you should be able to order.

Dark_Ghost has posted the release date for the YF-25, I quoted it below.

    Release date : June 21, 2014

    Can't wait!

    -b.

Me too, my wallet isn't to looking forward to it. I'll be recovering from vacation spending when it releases.

  9. My left intake cover never went in totally flush until I thinned the tab a bit, now it's nice and seamless like the other one.

Left nosegear door is similar to my -25 Alto's---you can get it to stay put, but you have to fiddle with it and get it JUST right to hold the proper position. Seems to be an inherent issue with the -25 family, as it seems lots of them have "left nosegear door positioning" issues. It also likes to "twist" sideways a bit when opened.

On a semi-related note, I've switched to using black paint instead of lining pens----this release/plastic just repels ink it seems. I think it may be why the foot-paint scrapes easily too. It's the -27 nose-stripe all over again---poor paint adhesion due to slick oily valks...

(having to re-do many areas like 3 times to get the black to actually DRY and adhere is why I haven't finished detailing it yet nor posted any pics)

Thank you for the info on the front landing gear door David. I went back and checked the other 29s and yes the same "twisting" is occurring with them, but appears to be more pronounced in the Ozma. It was a very minor issue I noticed, not a deal breaker.
